Cone Filter mod 701
I get a few questions about this every few months so I decided to share how I did my cone filter modification. I only netted 1hp from this mod, but it was partly cosmetic at the time, Seeing how hard it was to pull hp out of this bike, yes I wouldve done it again as It wasnt very hard to do. Do take note that this doesnt talk about how to adjust your preferred angle of the filter from a side view. The stock snorkel does angle down a bit so my filter did angle down as well. You can accommodate for this by changing the piping angle or cone filter that has an angle set to it already.

Modifying VMC GP12 for STD shift

So, what do I think about the GP12 after riding it? I think the bike has a good motor, a good chassis and suspension, it is what I was hoping for, I was out riding with 65's, 85's and 150r's and the bike was able to hang and or catch them depending on the rider skill level, this bike is on par with those bikes. Hi I havent had many but the usual is posted on my videoes - watch for the front mount bolts loosening over time, I would take the time to locktite / safety wire them if you can do that. Otherwise its been pretty good. Ive ridden it 5x since I got it and rode it hard, put it away wet and its been a fun bike to ride. @@Filthy_Goblin_44 of course no prob, I made these vids to help others with the same questions I had. Honestly these motors are great the only reason why I said the 4 valve is yes for a little more you could have more power, but with the 2 valve ive had the rear step out on me coming out of a corner when the tire wasnt fully warm yet, these things are still pretty quick with a 2 valve. Not as fast as a 150R as you can see in the video but not much slower either. With a 4 valve I imagine that would be a lot closer. In fact I have a 212 4v kit sitting on my bench for months and havent had the desire to install it because this thing is enough for me to get better on while chasing those 150r's around.

I'd say im about 180-185 lbs with gear and the bike handled great. It does have adjustable shocks and you can get it with adjustable forks upon request, that said. I think it may need higher spring rates for anything over 200ish but that can be solved aftermarket. I have a friend who is heavier than you who just bought one of these and were going to figure that all out by working with companies who have made kits for the Ohvale GP2 as the suspension is very similar. The adjustable fork is 38mm stanchion by 660mm overall - we will try Mupo suspension springs and the rear is a DNM Hornet shock and I believe they do make different spring rates so we can go direct with them.

I just wanted to let you no don't use the kick start at all in less you have to and check or add the shift star mod. The reason I was able to buy the Dayton engine out of the gp ohvale is because the guy didn't have the shift star mod or electric start Wich are need if not it can cause the transmission to fail either the in put shaft or out put shaft will end up snapping on the engine just like the Dayton engine I bought off a UA-camr. I rebuilt the Dayton engine and used newer thicker shafts that there now selling and put the shift star mod. I only use the electric start Wich is also recommended to by ooracing. @@Freddi922 they have the same problems because they just put the engine in the bike they only build the bike it self the engine factory would have to make the changes that kinda of part off the company problem. Ooracing sell the complete engine with all the upgrades there the only company that offer it that I know of and IV done quite a bit of research more than most people even on the forms that I'm on. They say the factory doing the upgrades to the engine on the new models the shafts and shift star mod but IV heard some people say that even some of the newest models aren't coming with the up grades kinda why I recommend checking for your self just in case never hert's 👍🏍️🍻💯✌️

There also a small open spot on the caseing that should get jbweld to fill it in so the cover and gasket seal it off like it should do when toching keeps the water from getting to the ignition parts if you ride in the rain or puddle it would be a problem. And when you change the oil see if it has the shift star mod from the factory there supposedly doing it on new models now. Don't use synthetic oils on it will actually eat anything that not metal not good.
