Poor Mans Burnt Ends on a Pit Boss Pellet Grill | Baller BBQ
Переглядів 4,1 тис.3 роки тому
Poor man's burnt ends done on a Pit Boss pellet grill are super fast and cheap. Burnt ends mad from brisket are all well and good but sometimes you just don't have time to cook a whole brisket so instead, use chuck roast or any other roast cut. These are fast too at only 2 hours on the grill or smoker at 120C. Check out the new BallerBBQ website at www.BallerBBQ.com DISCLAIMER: The links below ...

Smoked Corn On The Cob | Baller BBQ

Smoked Corn on the cob is so simple and delicious and makes an excellent side dish, you'll be wondering why you never tried it sooner! This recipe is similar to Mexican street corn in that it's simply a smoked cob in its husk and then slathered in butter and spices once cooked. I've used the Pit Boss pellet grill for this but you could use a charcoal grill, gas or even an oven (except you'd mis...
Pork Spare Ribs on a Charmate Lawson Smoker | Baller BBQ

Pork spare ribs are so delicious and are a great place to start if you're new to smoking. This week I'm using Flynny's Royal Rub as a base and then using Krakin Chillies BBQ sauce as a glaze. These are both available in New Zealand and go amazing together. If you're overseas or can't get hold of this stuff you can also use any rub and sauce you'd like. The charmate lawson is a great smoker too ...

Jalapeno brined chicken wings are so good! The salt from the brine seasons the chicken from the inside out and the jalapenos give them a nice kick. I've done this recipe on my Pit Boss Pellet Grill but these can be done on any smoker or grill whether gas, charcoal, or wood-fired. They are great party snacks and easy to make. Smores are a delicious dessert and are even better as a pizza topping. With just chocolate, marshmallow and biscuit smores dessert pizzas are super easy and quick to make. The pit boss pellet grill is a great wood fired pizza oven and provides a little bit of smoke to the pizza too which is an interesting twist. Enjoy! Cooking Pizza On Pit Boss Pellet Grill | Baller BBQ

This week I'm making a supreme pizza on my Pit Boss Pellet Grill. Homemade pizza in a pellet smoker is awesome and turns out pretty close to a wood fired pizza oven. I've cooked it at 230C / 446F so it's not like a smoked pizza but more like a grilled pizza but there is definitely still a little bit of smoke present. Lamb Spare Ribs On A Charmate Lawson Smoker | Baller BBQ

Lamb spare ribs are great done on a Charmate Lawson Smoker. These ribs are really simple to make, just lightly oil, coat with rub and cook for an hour at 120C (248F)...perfect! Lamb ribs are pretty fatty, so they are super tender cooked low and slow like this. The Raptor Naturals Lamb & Vegetable used in this recipe really goes well with the lamb too. It has lots of rosemary type flavours to it...
Glazed Double Smoked Ham On A Pit Boss Pellet Grill | Baller BBQ
Переглядів 1,4 тис.3 роки тому
Glazed double smoked ham is a classic at Christmas time and this method of double smoking is super simple on a pit boss pellet grill. The use of a hot sauce in the glaze adds a little something extra too which makes the smoked ham perfect for sandwiches too. Most hams come pre-cooked and pre-smoked so all that we need to do is add a little extra smoke while warming it up to make the best smoked...

    Ultimate grill? Ultimately glad I didn't buy it. I tried to purchase one of Pit Boss's $700 grills online. They have an exclusive contract with Walmart who was out of stock. I went onto PB's website, and there's no customer service contact info; only self-help pages (first red flag). I messaged them on Facebook and got prompt answers, none of which were helpful, though. They claim to offer military discounts, but caveat it so that it wasn't applicable to what I wanted. Then they want to charge $150 for shipping. I've had washers, dryers, tires, and who knows what else shipped, and never has anything cost $150 for shipping (red flag number 2). After getting nowhere with pit boss customer service via Facebook to get the grill I wanted, the rep got cheeky (became a smart a--) . . . red flag number 3. So I then went back to read reviews to see whether this was a company I actually wanted to support with my money and found lots of negative reviews on both the products and the company. Red flag number 4. I'll be looking elsewhere for my new grill because I don't need to spend a weeks wage to receive a questionable product from a company with poor customer service (once you DO figure out how to contact them online). I'm now wondering if Walmart is choosing to be "out of stock" because 16 percent of reviews are 3 star or less, not because of supply chain or other issues. 274 reviews on Walmart, but only FIVE reviews (4- and 5-star, coincidentally) on the PB website . . ?? . . sounds fishy.

    I'm doing my first smoke in one of these after watching this video and then buying one for a good price. I had the temp at 120°c but then when I added the meat I topped up the water, and I haven't been able to get the temp back up to 120 since then. It's stuck at 90°c

      Hey, yeah adding a big mass can make it harder to heat. If your struggling to get up to temp I would cut back on the water. Once it's at the desired temp then add water to maintain it. Hop that make sense. Are you in NZ?

    • @melissabrink2045
      @melissabrink2045 9 місяців тому

      @samdymond8538 Hi, trying again today! The temp was correct but when I added the meat I noticed the water was low so topped that up too. I struggled for hours to get the heat up again and eventually just made a bigger fire, basically starting from scratch. The brisket was really dry. Today I'm trying ribs, pork Belly and a whole chicken

    • @BallerBBQ
      @BallerBBQ 9 місяців тому

      Hi Melissa, when adding a big cold mass like a chunk of meat it does lower the temperature especially if also adding cold water so always make sure the water is hot from the jug. I personally don't add water to the pan any more and just fill it will sand or a course grit so that it acts as a big thermal mass to offset the meat going in. Sorry it didn't work out for you. Don't give up just yet because once you get it right, the taste from charcoal is unbeatable.

    I used to go camping and fishing with an Air Force major when I lived in Colorado in the 70s. He seasoned his new cast iron on a roaring fire and the new pan filled to the rim with lard or Crisco and just let it catch fire and burn till it was gone. Kinda extreme, but whatever floats your boat and I will say his cast iron was well seasoned.

    I built a rack system, using off the shelf cake cooling racks, that let's me smoke multiple levels in my Pit Boss Lexington grill. I can smoke 8 lbs. in mine at one go, and the Lexington is among the more petite grill sizes that Pit Boss offers. That's about 3 times what fits on the main grill, with no perceptible difference in the quality of the jerky. I'm not sure I'd bother doing it at all if I was limited to what fits on the main grill.
