Great video mate 👍🏻 liked, subscribed + comment 👊🏻 keep up the good work
@@darekraczkowski5340 thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Fair dooze you seem genuine. Edit and relatability is key, tbf I think you have smashed it. I've watched a video of washing a car (something I hate doing) but enjoyed it so yeah, new subscription 👌 Good luck 💪
@@GingerRob thank you 🙏🏻 I really appreciate that 🙏🏻
@ConnerRhysuk I mean to bring you back down to earth I did watch it whilst taking a shit but that's where most people watch UA-cam isn't it? 🤣
@ of course? Where else would you watch UA-cam? 😂
Excellent video. I've just started and find editing and presenting incredibly hard. I've made 2 terrible videos that took longer to make than working on the van itself. I think this video will be a springboard for you. 1000 subscribers by the end of the week.
@@mattybrawn 😂 I'd love to think that would happen but I'm not going to bank on it! 😂 And to be completely honest, presenting and editing are hard, the best way I've found and (by all means I'm not a big creator with tonnes of experience) - but as for presenting, literally be yourself. I've made videos where I've acted like a tv presenter and it just felt wrong. This is the first video where I've just said "fk it" and just been myself. And I found that editing the video when I've just been myself was so much easier 😁 hope this helps
good luck. I am thinking about making videos with my 370 Nismo 2015 and I don't know what hasn't already been shown for mods being installed, so instead of making install videos or how to's, I think that maybe sharing some tips with the car and then showcasing some real driving on windy roads will be better, all though it may still be hard to gain an audience... I am thinking if I drop some real money on some legit camera and mounts and really good microphones so I can just drive fast and give much better production value than you see on most every video then you may have a chance. I know some good roads near me where I can basically drive as fast as I want since there is no one around. it's like a 100 mile circuit of very windy roads. Can't find any videos of it on UA-cam except for like one or 2 but they are bad videos and low quality camera so maybe it might be a good option. It would be cool to live stream to a large audience but first you need to grow and audience... not sure what personality approach I wanna take on UA-cam. I really don't want to get boxed in to a certain personality that limits me from doing other things tho... Its like if you come off a certain way, people will be hesitant to see you in any other light other than what you put forth as your original content... If you come off as an expert in this field, people will not find you as good source for other content since they figure it's not your area of expertise. In this way I am hesitant of putting myself out on the internet in a certain light because it may make it hard to change your image once you have grown to a certain point.
@@shawnb50 I appreciate that I am by no means a big creator with loads of experience, but what I think anyone would agree with is, in your situation, the best thing you can do is literally just be yourself. I've seen some bigger creators copy almost exactly what another one has done to the point it's more or less the same video, but people still watch because they find the creator interesting / funny or whatever. When it comes to UA-cam it's not JUST about what you are doing, it's also about you and how you present. Sure you could put on a personality but honestly... just be yourself! This is the first video where I've said fk it and just been myself, and from what I've seen so far it's working. And all I use for camera is my iPhone! 😂 and as for a mic I have a DJI mic 1 and neither of them are the most up to date! Best thing to do is just be yourself and just start making videos! Confidence and quality will come over time as you grow!
This video hit way too close to home haha Stay strong bro!

@@oliverblackhall fair point, but I was never winging and whining nor complaining, I was simply stating the facts about it all that's all. I've got no hard feelings about any of it. I always thought the acceleration argument was blown way out of proportion. Sure it's not a 370z or supra, but it's enough to enjoy revving it out. Especially on twisty roads. Most of the people who've made that argument have never even driven in one. They just like to get on the hate bandwagon because that's what's "cool"
@@BRZguy exactly right, I can garantee it that u ask anyone that hates on these cars if they've ever driven one, the answer will be no. Only a very small handful of people have driven one and walked away with the same opinion 🤷🏻♂️
@@ConnerRhysuk Right? I've even surprised some of my friends. They said it was quicker than they were expecting and it's a lot more confidence inspiring in the corners than they thought.
I totally agree man being a car UA-camr is hard, the money you need for it now to make it viable is crazy. But I do think it’s still doable. I thought your video was great as well btw, editing was funny and you’re great on camera.
@@JackMcNeillCars Ngl I was never expecting you to comment at all! 😂 this made my day 🙏🏻 And thank you I really appreciate the love 🙏🏻 It's definitely doable, I'm going to do it, I know it's going to cost a lot of money getting there 😂
I absolutely love mines, had it for 3 years now. They handle better than anything I have ever driven and haven’t even done anything to the suspension. It’s definitely for drivers who just like to drive hard. People complain about the power but to me it’s enough to have loads of fun and don’t even have plans to modify it for more power atm. It’s perfect just the way it is and they look awesome

The og wheels would look good if you maintained them
They're terrible, cleaned them up as best as I possibly can and sadly they need to be refurbed, I mean, they're 34 year old wheels
I thought you meant the wheels not the condition lol and I agree that new chrome rims will look cleaner even if those get to there best condition, also to answer your question you should make the car candy red either swap out the soft top for a hard top or just keep it down at shows and clean it up, but red always looks top tier with chrome rims even if its basic for a miata, i wouldnt even stance it, get a widebody but instead of cambering to make it fit keep it straight so it stands out a lil just my opinion could look ugly asf in your eyes hope the build goes well

@@ConnerRhysuk honestly not bad at all, i’ve used one of the spare button next to my indicator, and literally pushed through a grommet in the firewall, then cable tie to fit in engine bay, took me ages to figure out where to go through
It looks like it’s had rust repair before, from the factory mk1 mx5s had black lower sills and yours are body colour, as long as it’s done properly and undersealed properly it’ll be mint for a few years, I would suggest Tein street advanced Z coilovers as they are good quality, relatively budget friendly and very adjustable, I’ve had them on mine for about a year and a half and they are great
@@matthewgibson3283 it actually has had a rust repair before. But I don't think it was done properly cos the same panel that has had a "repair" is rusting quite bad. Hence im taking it to the mx5 restorer to have it all done properly. And I've been looking at those coilovers tbf either that or the HSD coilovers, not too sure rn. I was building a NSX in Japan before my 86, the 86 parts a super cheap in comparison.
@@Aearonjer yeah but that's a NSX that's understandable
@@ConnerRhysuk Which is my point, expensive is relative.
@ yeah I suppose ur right
I have the 2013 GTS 86 (You can see it on my channel). The only thing I don't like, is my engine blowing up in May because of the valve issue (122,000 KM). Toyota won't honour the recall as I'd had the UEL headers and ECUTEK tune on three weeks before. About $10,000 to fix. :(
@@Aearonjer jeeesus that's pricey! It'd be a lot cheaper to just buy a brand new second hand engine
@@ConnerRhysuk Second hand engines are around $4-5,000 in Australia. The one-make 86 racing series here in Australia gobbled up a lot of the engines. Another $4-5,000 for labour and sundries (From private mechanics). Toyota quoted me $12,000 for a second hand engine with around 112,000 km. They quoted me $20,000 for a new engine (including fitment on all quotes). Bear in mind this is in all AUD. I love my 86 so I have to grin and bear it.
@ I've just done some conversion rates and honestly, those prices aren't bad! I mean second hand engines over here in the uk - in good condition you're looking at about £6-7k GBP then fitting on top which would be around £1500. Going directly to Toyota will always be more expensive. Have you tried Subaru to see if they're any cheaper? As both the Brz and 86 have the same engine. I wonder if there's a price difference between the companies. I doubt it. But it's worth a try?
@@ConnerRhysuk A lot of the ancillaries need to be swapped from other engines depending on year (i was hoping to get a newer engine). I'm lucky we have two 86 specialists here in Adelaide (Very popular car here). Just saving the money, hopefully by April next year I'll be up and running again. A lot of costs like towing and re-registration to factor in too. My car was outside the valve recall list (I checked before purchase). I just got unlucky, I drove it like a baby. I'm obsessed with this car. :)
@ best piece of advice I can give is, if u rebuild the engine use the oem valve springs from Toyota. Uprated ones cause a bit of headache if not correctly installed
You're better off building the engine and going FI with these cars instead of engine swapping. That will just be a lot of money and headaches.
