The tracks were completely dismantled in 2023.

4 years on since this vid. More and more outlaw speeders are getting stopped on abandoned sections. Another one in the news just the other day. If your enjoying it now,, take lots of pics and vids. Soon to be memories.

Being that this video is 4 years old, I assume that all of the tracks have been torn up by now. Is that true? Or did they leave any behind? There are still the Carrizo Gorge tracks. I don't know if there are any plans for that one. And there are hundreds of other abandoned lines around the country. It's been since the mid 70s since I did this track. It was live then. We had a train schedule so we didn't collide with the regular run. We used to hunt quail from the cart. They were very abundant out there.

This place is gone. They came in and took all the rail away to be sold for scrap. RIP. There are hopefully others still available.

what size battery do you have in this please ,i have just got one and it has 2x 6v and 2x 2 volt large sealed led acid batterys in that are all beyond there use so might look at putting normal rc stick cells in

I would do it an a hi-rail pickup truck with tools to repair the tracks!

Great job on your adventure , I remember that train track my DAd was state park ranger are Salton sea when it was a state park. I was ten years old at that time. These are fantastic inflators. I hope more people will mod this unit in the future. If anyone is inflating anything over 100 psi use a small hose clamp where the chuck meets the air hose to add some strength. The chuck came off mine while refilling a compressed air can. And if you ever take the case off, check where the hose is connected inside. If there's no hose clamp there, add one there too if you can. Don't crank too tight as only a plastic barb you're cranking it onto. They can easily crack. More hacks I'd love to see for this unit: -Flashlight/hazard light mod, perhaps with a blinker for visibility/safety on the road. - Blow Gun mod. For those who use compressed air cans alot. For now I hacked a compressed air can to make it refillable. I have no room for an air pig or I would have hacked a propane bottle for that. - Better tire chuck. One that locks onto the tire without having to bend a lever. You might need to change to regular compressed air hose for that, which is another mod. (adding regular air line to be able to connect compressed air tools) - Power mod. Add 50 psi. Is it doable? - Close off the bit holder on the side with a lid that opens and closes. Or add a container that opens and closes. You could add more bits. Don't lose those as they're great for camping say inflate air mattress, inflatable beds, various water toys. Usb charger mod is pointless since there's a Ryobi inverter/usb charger that connects to the battery. People can also mod or of 3d print those.

Why don't you hear any engine noise? All I hear is wheel on rail sound. Are these things battery powered? China is buying up most of our scrap metal so there's a lot of money to be made from the steel in the rails. It is a shame that everything has to be torn up for salvage value.
