Yeah me too. At this point in my knife stage I’m not interested in getting the best quality knife for the best value, I’d rather support my local makers and economy. Thanks for watching
I have had a bit of an obsession with this knife ever since I've found out about Emerson and their CQC7/. But this is the one that caught my eye. I love the simple design and the symmetry. I never bought one because I know I don't need (as in will not use) a knife like this and they are expensive knives for my taste. I buy knives on occasion but I only ever (and always) carry my Victorinox Spartan which I've been glued to for 30+ years. I think I will buy on of these one of those days (and never use it) because I keep coming back to it.
Emerson is one of my 4 that I edc daily.. What you should do is "pimp" it a tad. How, larger standoffs from MMXG gear, a monster Ti thumb disk from Gray's precision, and a deep carry pocket clip, and you're good to go! Also the G10 is grippy yes, but will smooth out with use. Best feature about the G10, it's WARM.. Try that with a Spyderco FRN or a BM in minus 30 degree weather..
I love their 154cm. I've chopped through some nasty materials like copper wires and lots of big zip ties. It's held an edge really well and (knock on wood) zro chipping or rolling.
I think everything you don’t like about the Emerson knife is exactly what Ernest Emerson was designing his knives to be. It is not a fidget knife. Emerson designed it to withstand punishment. If that is not what you want don’t get an Emerson.
As far as what it is meant for ,probably one of the best..it does more than be a knife,if you know how to use it properly one of combat self defense tool out there.
Scince it’s chisel grind, can you still cut straight with it? Like when you cut down a cardboard box or something like that?or does it constantly try to wander off?
Emerson knives aren’t very refined or perfected. Their are made with the idea of being a tool and only a tool. People that like smooth scales, a fun action, and a super steel tend to dislikes Emerson’s. Thanks for watching
The quality is poor and the steel is budget, but they charge a lot. At the same time they know it and market it that way. They're fine if you know what you're getting and don't compare prices for what it is.
Buying American made means a lot to me. American designers, American manufacturing. 👍🏻🇺🇸

Man I want that knife and customize it
I do like the knives that have a simple look. I'd like to take another look at it when we work together again. (I'm a lefty btw)
Lefty’s are weird

Lock stick is better than Lock failure...It's an Emerson, design is meant not to fail..It's not an plain EDC ..
Great review. I think I'll stick with benchmade.

Why would you care if the cut is straight if you're just trashing a box? But yeah you can
They cut just as straight as a normal knife
People hate emerson knives? Why?

It's for hard use ,not EDC ,hope people eventually get that right
it is a tool that;s it ,NO BS just a tool that gets the job done, all the fancy crap ,is useless TY
The A100 sure as hell is sexy
Looks to me to be similar to my CRKT Boni Fide. Simple.
LOL the design of the knife is older than you..please do not comment on things you have no clue of
$5 To tap left hand holes
Serrations are $5, drill and tap left hand is now $25 and no returns.
