There is some quality of your synths that I always find pleasing. Maybe the harmonic content, but there is always a “living” sound in the synths. Almost like they could breathe. That’s one facet of your music that I always enjoy.

Dear Jeremy, I understand what you're writing, but I can't tell you exactly what you mean. At a certain point I have the feeling that my synthesizers develop a life of their own. Then they start to swing and influence each other with their swinging. This leads to very strange situations in which I can no longer control all the subtleties and refinements I hear. At this point, I can only marvel. I think this behavior is typical for an analog sound machine or an assembly of different analog sound machines. Perhaps this is also the reason why purely digital music, electronic music which is more calculated than stimulated, tends to be perceived as colder and more brittle. Yours, Markus

Lieber Hansi, vielen Dank für Deinen netten Kommentar. Ja, der Sommer ist vorbei. Jetzt ist wieder die Zeit, lange an den Synthesizern zu stehen, während es draußen dunkel, kalt und regnerisch ist. Ein bisschen habe ich während der warmen Sommertage das Musikmachen mit meinen Synthesizern vermisst. Dennoch habe ich den Sommer sehr genossen und habe viel und laut gesungen, manchmal sogar im Duett. Ich habe mein Spiel auf der Hang und meinen Obertongesang verbessert. Ich habe sogar hie und da wieder zur Gitarre geriffen, um ein paar Lieder zu spielen und zu singen. Mal schauen, vielleicht werde ich ab Oktober Gesangsunterricht nehmen. Einen Termin für ein erstes Kennenlernen mit einer professionellen Sängerin habe ich schon, wobei ich befürchte, dass der Unterricht teuer werden könnte, weil die Frau echt gut singen kann (siehe [1]). I think this sinister video with its sinister ambient music was once necessary. When I often listen and watch for a long time what fancy kind of videos people like me have uploaded to showcase their electronic music. After a while I get too much of this brave new world full of expensive electronic devices and shimmering effects and beautiful illusions. A world we both belong to. That's why, from time to time, I need a hard nudge that this super-privileged world is not all there is on this planet. It is now bad enough that my family has to be careful to have money to pay bills and eat. In this kind of environment, scenes like this aren’t a surprise to me. Dear Jorge, sometimes it's good to clear the fog a little so I can see where I live. Unfortunately, the aim of this article is not primarily to help these poor people, but to raise my own awareness of the world I live in. Is that any help? The actual cry for help, if you can even recognize a cry for help in these pictures, remains unanswered. When I watch the video, I feel a sense of relief that I am not living in misery, that I have not sunk so low. I can also read that in some of the comments. But to create this relief would be the completely wrong motivation, effect and objective of this video. Ich will diesem Konflikt nicht aus dem Weg gehen. Mit meiner Kunst flüchte ich gern und allzu oft in die Weiten des Weltraums,. Aber Kunst kann solche krassen Unterschied sichtbar machen. Mit meinem letzten Stück "Another Descent" ist mir das nicht so sehr gelungen, weil ein Gedicht nicht dieselbe starke Wirkung hat, wie dieser kurze Film, den ich gestern Nachmittag durch Zufall und zur rechten Zeit bei YT gefunden hatte. Hallo Frank, vielen Dank für Deinen Kommentar. Ich hoffe, dass wir solche Bilder nie in Berlin sehen werden. Oder irre ich mich da bereits? In Hamburg habe ich vor 30 Jahren ähnliches auf der Reeperbahn und in St. Georg gesehen. Was die Reeperbahn anbelangt, hat die Stadt dort _aufgeräumt_ . Allerdings nur _aufgeräumt_ . Ich glaube nicht, dass die Stadt das Drogenproblem in den Griff bekommen hat, es hat nur verlagert. Ich finde es sehr beklemmend, welche Ausmaße die Drogenszene in den meisten Großstädten in der USA angenommen hat. Ähnliche Bilder gibt es auch aus Seattle. Mir tun ebenfalls die Menschen leid, die nicht drogenabhängig sind und die jeden Tag dieses Elend miterleben müssen. Diese scheinbar unwrikliche Realität macht etwas mit den Menschen und ich befürchte, dass manche sich immer mehr radikaliseren werden, weil Sie keine andere Lösung mehr sehen. Die Nazis z.B. haben die sog. _Asozialen_ einfach deportiert und umgebracht. Andere verzweifeln an der Welt, und ja, zu denen gehöre ich, obwohl ich es mir mit meinen schönen Synthesizern im schönen Konstanz ganz schön gemütlich gemacht habe. Aber wie gesagt, dieses Elend macht etwas mit den Menschen und von Zeit zu Zeit ist es wichtig über den Tellerrand unserer schönen Welt hinauszuschauen. Aber werden solchen Aktionen Veröffentlichung dieses Videos, Taten folgen? Ich fürchte nein, vielleicht ein paar neue Videos... ganz sicher neue Eskapaden inden tiefen Raum 😔 Liebe Grüße, Markus

In meiner Gegend wird zwar viel gebettelt, aber es gibt nicht dieses Drogenproblem. Ich lasse mich trotzdem nicht runterziehen. Or rather, the piece of music and the poem are based on the thoughts I had about the fate of someone who was once so close to me. In fact, there are many such stories, of abuse and addiction, if you look closely at people, ask questions and think about their story. I often wonder why people who on one hand appear so strong and confident, always fighting for their independence, can become so dependent on alcohol and drugs and their (crazy) life partners that one day they can't keep fighting and just let life pass them by. It's a shame, and I think we can both agree after seeing how precious life is, that many of these people throw their lives away at the lowest price. Ich führe ein eher "unproblematisches" Leben aber denke mir manchmal: kann man bei dem Zustand der Welt (mit all den machtbesessenen, brutalen, nicht-zurechnungsfähigen Irren) noch Musik machen die nicht ein Aufschrei ist? [warte immer noch auf Antwort ... ... ]

Auf der Titanic hat die Band bis zuletzt gespielt... Tatsächlich mache ich oft Musik, um mich von den _großen_ Problemen des Lebens (Klimawandel, Krieg, ...) abzuwenden und den _kleinen_ Problemen (Scheitern, Krankheit, Tod, ...) zuzuwenden. Für mich ist Musikmachen, Bildermalen, Texte- und Gedichteschreiben nicht nur eine Ablenkung von den _kleinen_ oder _großen_ Problemen (Was ist groß? Was ist klein? Von der Andromeda-Galaxie aus betrachtet, ist alles hier verschwindent klein!), sondern eher eine Art Bewußtmachung. Und oft fühle ich mich während und nach der künstlerischen Auseinandersetzung mit den _kleinen und großen_ Problemen viel ruhiger und aufgeräumter. Wenn ich die verschiedenen Medien Text, Bild und Ton zusammenführe, bin ich zudem immer gespannt darauf, neue Effekte (wie z.B. bei diesem kleinen Hörspiel) zu erzeugen, neues zu erlernen und zu erkennen, um mir im Umgang mit meinen _kleinen_ Problemen, die ja immer auch die _großen_ Probleme reflektieren, neue Impulse zu geben. Last but not least, und das ist mein größter Gewinn, macht mir die künstlerische Herangehensweise immer mehr Spaß. Ich bin oft von mir überrascht, Gutes und Sinnvolles geschaffen zu haben, anstatt meine Zeit mit Schlechtem und Sinnlosem zu verplempern. Und wenn mein liebes, kleines Auditorium mir hier bei YT mit ihren netten Kommentaren auch noch recht gibt, bin ich für eine Weile sehr zufrieden mit mir und mit der Welt, trotz dem ganzen Mist, der da _draußen_ passiert.
