    I genuinely appreciate this HONEST review. I am in the market for a new tracker and still debating between the Classic XL and the Pro 170. The main reason i am considering the pro over the classic is the rod locker, the fixed larger fuel tank, and the better console. It would only be about $20 more a month on financing and I am thinking it would be worth it. I was going to do the 50hp with carpet.

    Excellent, detailed review, thanks very much! I am considering either the Pro 170 or the Pro Team 175 TXW for a few $grand more. Just wondering if you considered the 175 TXW, or if due to limited storage space you had to go with the Pro 170? Also, do you feel like the extra beam and other features on the 175 TXW are worth the higher price?

    • @RFishingtx
      @RFishingtx Місяць тому

      @kenb6102 Thanks! I do have limited space in the garage so the 175 would be a bit too tight of a fit. If I wasn’t limited on space and the choice was between the 170 and 175, I would rather spend the extra and get the 175. Even if you do the 175 with the tournament package, you’ll still want to upgrade the electronics and trolling motor at the very least.

    I've been there with the lack of access for the front deck on my Pro 160, (similar arrangement). I was so aggravated. I thought about specially made tools,,, but then realized the the main deck was much less work then tooling. I think it had 24 screws, and a little maneuvering, it opened up access. Wouldn't want to do that often, but shouldn't to have once the work in that area was done. I had carpeting. Vinyl should be easier. (did it while in my shop for winter service).

    I live about 10 minutes from the lake so I try to go when I can but I haven't had much success either. A few days ago I was casting from shore with a dark roboworm on a texas rig and wasn't getting any bites but I saw a few bass passing along the rocks by the shore and I put a crawler on instead twitching it along the bottom. I ended up catching and releasing 2 bass that were about the legal size. I'm hoping to go again soon and see if they prefer the crawler again especially near Pier 1 where the sight fishing is a lot better.

    • @RFishingtx
      @RFishingtx 3 місяці тому

      @dwainlsmith Thanks for the kind words. I did not replace any seals on the lower unit screws. When draining the lower unit gear oil, it’s best to remove the bottom screw first and then the top screw which then allows the pressure to release allowing the oil to drain out. In essence you are removing both screws but after the gear oil is pumped back in you replace them one at a time. I hope that answers your question.
