Only six hours? Those are rookie numbers! Do better! I kid
Welp, Guess I’m not sleeping tonight
Honey, wake up, a new 6+ hour video analysis of a game I'll never play just dropped! Seriously though, keep up the good work. <3 Mad props for the amount of time and effort it must've taken to make such a video.
If you like ff16 story and narrative you should try to analyze Xenoblade series story and narrative.
Starting to become my favourite analysis youtuber
*6 hour video* Adam the commitment to these videos is incredible
Never been this early.
1:28:30 “… that was an unkind comparison :(“ when I tell you I fucking LOST IT when I first heard that line😭😭😭
All that talk about her sexuality :) Guessing Burningshores wasn't released when you made this XD
I’m tired of people sleeping on Horizon or using it as a jumping point to glaze Elden Ring and BOTW. It needs more appreciation.
Man I hope that in the third game we will be able to fight against a horus
Totally s*cks
Please make an Iki Island video! ❤
4:07:40 BWAHAHAHAAHAHA
I think the Aratak/Ourea relationship would have had more impact if they had waited longer to reveal it. Perhaps even to Ourea’s death. Had they continued hinting at a deeper relationship and then whammied us with the sibling reveal at the end, I think it would have worked much better thematically.

I saw this for free on PlayStation Plus so thought I'd give it a go. Didn't even know it was a sequel. What an amazing game. It left me feeling like no other game ever has. Even days after finishing it I still felt oddly empty.
I absolutely loved your Horizon videos and went and searched them up to watch them again just now and saw this! Hope to see your channel continue growing.
I feel so bad for the devs. The first game came out around the same time as BOTW and the sequel came out around the same time as Elden Ring. At least we know a generation defining game is coming when the next game is announced
sylens probably wasn't in as much because the voice actor Lance Reddick was dealing with what eventually caused his death, as for your issues about nemesis... probably corporate mandated sequal bait, though tbh i liked how they put it aside till the very end, that way they could focus and give quality for the rest of the game
4:22:00 This plot point about taking GAIA to another planet to terraform it doesn't make sense to me. Zero Dawn wasn't just GAIA. It was also the stores of embryos and seeds in facilities around the world. Collecting those specimens was an *essential* part of Project Zero Dawn. This is the reason HADES was created - to stop those stores from being wasted recklessly. Stealing GAIA just doesn't work as a concept given what we've been told of her capabilities. Without the (literal) seed from which to grow a biosphere, she's just a fancy chatbot.
Congrats on 5K! Well deserved!
On the note of why Hephaestus would’ve helped by overtaking the printing matrix, while it is a slight narrative issue: the enemy of my enemy is my friend. The Zeniths had the AI captured, granted it was with the help of Aloy and Beta. But if Beta was offering the AI an escape, it has good reason and ammunition to strike back against its captors. Beta’s simple action of letting him loose may have been enough to broker the temporary truce as someone gave Hephaestus what it wanted. A tiny contributing factor could be the amount of malicious code both Aloy and Beta managed to remove before the zeniths attacked in Gemini. What little code they removed may have temporarily given Hephaestus the clarity it needed to side with Aloy and her allies long enough before eventually retreating to the cauldron network again. Just a few rambling thoughts I wanted to share on the matter.
One thing Horizon failed to explain about Odyssey; Why Sirius? Haven't seen a single datapoint mentioning any sort of space colonization being a thing in the first place. Like the Moon and Mars being logical targets. But somehow Far Zenith had funds and technology for a trip to Sirus, 8.6 light years away. Meanwhile, the brightest minds on Earth, funded by the wealthiest corporation, and with a limit of ~16 months. And Zero Dawn was the best answer? This all makes me think of one single crazy theory: Elizabeth secretly WANTED Earth to get wiped.
Commenting on Varl, so... spoilers: I love the detail that I didn't even realize, until watching this video... the garden that Zo and him made, that they would tend to, is on the East exit of the base. Which, if you are focused on the story, is the exit you are least likely to leave out of, as most of the progression, leads you further and further west. I didn't know at all that the garden was there, until the scene with Zo. Despite getting spoiled on Varl's death, sadly. The scene with Zo at the garden wasn't spoiled for me, luckily. And honestly, it made me look at all of thise through a different lenz... It's out of the way, and you have no real reason other than going back for other things in the east, that lead you out that path, so if you focus on the story, that garden might never be seen until Zo's scene. Which is realistic to how Aloy has been acting up till now. Obviously she cares, but she never really truly stops to talk to her friends and allies, unless you choose to. She never really truly focuses on her allies struggles as much as the main mission because of the gravity of the mission. And even if she does take a moment to talk to them, and see their lives. It's brief, and very "let's get caught up" instead of seeing the bigger picture, and how much they are doing around her. Then Varl's death happens, and you are brought out that east exit, and... it hits me, at least, that this has been there, and I never even knew. And then it makes me at least, realize that maybe I'm missing so much by not looking at the bigger picture, so to speak. After that scene with Zo, I actively chose to go back out there, so much more often, stopping and taking it all in, and really focusing on the world around Aloy, rather than just the story. And every time I go talk to Varl, I feel emotional, because I realize that myself, and honestly even Aloy, never really stopped to realize how much Varl was there, for her, for me. I miss him, now. But I'm glad his story doesn't entirely die here, and his child will have a future, maybe even in the next game.
cyberpunk 2077: phantom liberty DLC?
Big congratulations 👏🏿❤
Whenever I travel and need some long form content to listen to whilst driving, I always go for your Plague Tale videos. Such an incredible emotional game. I'm not gonna give you a list of games I'd like to see you talk about, just gonna wait for what you give us next. Keep up the good work, my guy!
Due to an unforeseen and unfortunate copyright issue, and UA-cam's rather laughable internal editor making it difficult to change it manually without deleting the video, reediting it, and reuploading it, I've unfortunately had to cut some of the music at the beginning and end of the 5000 Subs Q&A video, thereby hampering its overall quality. Truly sorry about that, guys. I strive to make the best content possible for you guys, which you absolutely deserve, and this unfortunate circumstance has necessitated that I go against this grain. This is the last thing I wanted to do 😔 In light of that, I have some good news; my next long-form analysis is now completed and currently being exported as a write, with only a final review on my end pending. Again, terribly sorry about this guys. This is the last thing I wanted to have happen, and I hope you still get some enjoyment out of the special despite this hiccup. Thank you again for 5,000 subs! Cheers!
27:17 good lord, Vanasha's ABS THOUGH
2:06:19 Somehow I had never noticed: Samina falls back, then collapses into her hands weeping. Charles and Margo move immediately to comfort and protect her, Charles delivering his fury. The details of this game. My god. Some of the most realistic portrayals of humanity in the best and worst ways.
Your vid reminded me how much thought went behind every “level design” to help uplift the conversations, like 1:28:53 where that part of the level has a tower for Hugo to run to, so Sophia can have an important “are u sure” conversation with Amicia. This game has many moments that makes a film excellent - dialed up with the interactive traversal of the places and story beats. It’s like “playing” a film instead of watching a film, a really well made one. Calling it a “walking simulator” doesn’t do it justice 😢
"Hold your fruit!" :D
one minute in and I already have to add a correction XD: technically you can access the DLC the moment you are able to get through the gates after the Proving mission. It's just not specifically pointed out to you until you reach Daybreak.
54:00 Just curious... With the Remaster of H:ZD they re-recorded a lot of dialog, most likely including Varl's lines amongst them (as well as redoing the animations for a lot of the dialogs). I wonder if your opinion would have changed on Varl had you seen the re-recordings and redone performance by the VA? 1:47:00 that does tend to be one of the missteps that most open-world games make, trying to balance urgency with allowing player freedom.
❤
God I forgot how beautiful this game is
