The Farthest North Pumpkin Drop? (Location Undisclosed)
Переглядів 2259 місяців тому
Just two kids with some crazy ideas about flying 4.2 hours to have lunch on a gravel bar and then dropping pumpkins on a frozen pond near the Canadian border, and wanting to see long upright rocks standing in water well deeper than the tallest man you know. Jamie is self entertaining and provides much comedic relief. Im merely a spectator, she is the star. Music: Mo Lowda and the Humbles- Beach...

I recently got the honor of laying the first tracks on this beautiful airstrip in Pennsylvania. The crosswind was stiff and the straw slippery! What a beautiful spot.
Six Strips, A Southern West Virginia Tour
Переглядів 2,1 тис.4 роки тому
I left Rainelle in the morning to pick up Ronnie to take him to get his airplane. He gave me an awesome tour of what southern WV has to offer in the way of private airstrips. Some are on the sectional, some are not. Can you name them? Have you been there? Always make sure you have permission before going! This just shows a small portion of what the Mountain State has for recreational airstrips....

Alaskan Caravan

Kenai to Anchorage. The trip that I took to Alaska in February 2016 did not at all turn out as planned. With multiple issues to overcome, we made the best of it. This particular day was a day for a mission. The mission failed due to weather. We flew to Kenai to pick up an airplane. Didnt happen. That was the theme of the 10 days I was there. Make plans, I can assure you Alaska will change them....
Soldier Bar Landing- In Cockpit
Переглядів 2,4 тис.5 років тому
Landing at Soldier Bar. Starts off flying upwind leg to crosswind, then downwind over the strip, hugging the canyon, then making a base turn in the middle of the canyon to final. I was still a little high on final so put a slip in to get down. Bucket List strip for me! Awesome area. Zen music compliments of UA-cam- Fluidscape by Kevin MacLeod

Me flying my buddy Matt's 1959 Cessna 180B Skywagon out of the Hidden Splendor Airstrip Canyon, and then back in. Near Green River, Utah. Taken early morning in October 2018 on our trip. Quite possibly the coolest thing I have ever done in an airplane. Thank you Matt! You have one of the finest flying airplane's I have ever flown. Off Airport Landing- Galvanized Gate
One of the best, if not the best, flying adventure videos on UA-cam. I've watched this video so many times and I'm sorry I haven't given the praise it deserves earlier. Thanks for sharing it with us 😊
It would have been better with engine sound.
Like others have said, I rewatch this every few months to remind myself why I enjoy flying. It helps bring me confidence. Thank you for that.
Where is the 182?????????????????
Great to have ya back!!
Thanks man!
what ya shootn brither?
Its a Marlin 45-70
Nice! Love it. That’s some cool looking terrain.
Nice! Looks gorgeous up there!
That's the stuff I want to do one day.
I watch this for years to remind myself of why I want to fly.
what did you do to keep the pin in place so it doesn’t back out over time?
Love Soldier Bar what a view!!
This is how the best of us are builit - godspeed.
You need to come to Alaska
Great song.
amazing
Excellent landing!!!
Every so often I come back and watch this video. Without fail it always re-focuses my love for aviation and causes me to crave the adventure of a cross-country trip to a place like Idaho. It’s a challenge to produce something that inspires people to this degree, but you nailed it with this video.
Well, shoot. I think this video beats both of my "Self-Isolation Expedition" playlists on my channel.
No info on tire size or anything, just funky music. Waste of time.
Nice comment bro. Since you asked, 8.50 Desser Aero Classics on the mains and 8.00 Goodyear air hawk on the nose. Have a great day!
after watching other videos, I think maybe, you should NOT have pinned the two doors together in a FLAT PLANE...??..it seems that they should be in a configuration where when one is closed, the other is open ..??!!
That was really enjoyable to watch! Great camera work, editing, and narration. That had to be a really fun and challenging adventure! 🍻
I’ve watched your video many times and enjoyed your adventure! Have you considered another destination say Alaska? If you do this old pilot hopes you’ll record and share it here. Thank you for the adventure!
Funny you should mention that. I just moved to Alaska.
What a awesome experience! Thank you for sharing this!
So much ads
Great adventure mate
Thanks 👍
Just got my tail dragger endorsement,, after flying for 30 years. Want to purchase a 180-170 or Maule and fly to Alaska through Idaho,, Great Video!! Thanks
Right on!
Loved watching your adventure. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you for watching. I had a great time making it!
Best shots of the functionality of the blend doors. Excellent vid!
I realize that this was put out several years ago, but the message is timeless, and the content beautiful. I'm 63 and starting my build on a Rans Outbound. I cant wait to do this trip. Thanks for sharing this important time in your life as a pilot and a person.
One of my favorite videos... I’ve been re-watching this since before I had my own Bush plane. Thank you for taking the time to make it.
Thank you!
Howzat? Not bad man ,not bad.
Hey did you convert your 182 into a 180? i saw a post on backcountry. I have the same year 182 as yours, I have been thinking about doing the same conversion.
I did not.
thats a cool plane. i love the old straight tails and the paint schemes
Greg can fly anything.
perfect landing
I love it , i used to live in New Hampshire and Maine , if you are looking to sell your Cessna I’ll fly out to pick it up.
Dude, just found your channel. I’ll be watching every one of these and ring that bell. Very cool Thx!
You’re killin me Smalls! Love that freakin airplane! One of my favorites. The color scheme, everything. Good for you! I’m hoping to find a 172 straight tail to buy next year. I have a straight tail 150 now. Need a little more room. The 182 is probably more than I can afford to operate but if I had the money that’s the one I’d get. Love it! Did I say that?!? Thx for sharing. Love the first song in the video. All of it is great! You’ll probably never see my comment but Happy New Year!! Be safe
Happy new year and thanks for the kind words!!! This bird has been great to me and does all I ask of it. Good luck on your search for a new bird. The only advice i can give is be thankful and run what you brung!
@@offairportgear I didn’t figure you’d see the comment. Cool 😎 And, I completely agree. I’m always thankful, everyday 🙏🏻 Thanks, man! I’ll be watching every video. Hopefully, I’ll have some of my own this year. Peace ✌🏻
Great video, nice story. I am out of my comfort zone just starting flying lessons at 62 ! You should be proud of this accomplishment young man !
Pierre is pronounced like beer... with a P
Great content thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
Is this the fix for code 56?
Is that a plane or an ultralight?
It’s a plane. Zlin Savage Cub 100hp 912ULS Rotax
I have a 1958 182A. Looking to get a sportsmans stol, what would you say is your approach speed? What is a take off and land distance that you can get. Thanks
I enjoyed your adventure back country flying. It was the final moments of the film all the sorrow came back. You see Tyler sounded like a good friend to be around but Tommy Weiss was our Civil Air Patrol's Commander Major Greg Weiss. Tommy was one of 2 son's that Greg taught how to fly his Cessna 170B . Greg died of a heart seizure before Tommy's death. Tommy was a Captain in the Corvalis Oregon fire dept paramedic. When I joined the CAP Greg was very knowledgeable funny and outspoken. I did not know his son's personally but Greg was so proud of their accomplisments. I myself had a Mooney 231 Ilike the speed and the positive control of torque tubes. Take care and be well.
Sorry if this is a stupid question but is the cream and black plane a RANS S7?
Yes
Right at 21:32, that is a very familiar view to me! That's "my" range, the Portneuf Range, and I can almost make out my strip, I even estimated your altitude pretty closely, 11K or so. I do engine off ridge soaring on the ridge in my Rans S-7S, seeing it unexpectedly like that was weird but made me appreciate even more where I live and fly. I knew Tyler also....
Great video! Are you on BitChute?
Would you ever consider selling?
