How to make // DIY Flight Cases
In this video, I made flight cases to house my speaker boxes. The flight cases are made to be as effective as possible to protect anything from the outside elements. These are light weight, stackable and convenient to move around due to the caster wheels included in the build. Good luck with your future builds!

    Nice project but I noticed early in the video The horseshoe on your door is upside down. The open end should point up. The reason is that way it catches and holds good luck. If the opening is down your good luck runs out.

    Great skills mate well done. But for double what you paid for materials you can buy a comercial one and save days of work. So for me it doesn't make sense.

    This is a great video! It gave me lots of great ideas! I’m a fiber laser laser distributor/technician. I might have to sneak a couple of these brackets in as “test cuts” on the next machine I fix!

    thank you for sharing. I sometimes leave costumes at a place I gig at but found out they have a rat problem. I store my gear in my own loft but the hatch way is too tiny for a normal flight case, so now I can make a custom one that I can fit in my loft and the boot (trunk) of my car. Thank you so much!

    Would you advice commissioning this to a smith or buying one pre-manufactured? I live in Mexico and there are really few options and IMO a bit expensive for the quality (like in the US those go for $300 and in Mexico the same rack goes for around 13,000 pesos which would roughly translate to $700). On the other hand I know a smith that lives close to my house and has done good works so far, so I’m thinking on asking if he can build the rack but though it was a super crazy idea until I saw this video

    Hi, Jesse, great video. I was spending a big part of my day trying unsuccessfully to find an enclosure like this one ... yours is not only ingenious but its simple good looks make it even better! Now my questions: 1) How much would it cost to build one and 2) do you live near Riverside, CA. I'd love to hire you to make one for me as I live in a co-op situation and no longer have the tools, etc. needed when I lived in my own single family dwelling, plus I'm old now and this enclosure would take me out once and for all! Get back to me, I'm entirely serious and thanks!

      Hi Mike, thank you watching! and for your question. Since i am a novice welder and still learning the ropes, i have little input to what i want to include in the design. Perhaps i would add a drawer in the bottom section of the cart to place and hold grinding wheels and gloves.

    • @thebackyardmaker1214
      @thebackyardmaker1214 Рік тому

      Hi Russ, Thank for your comment! You can usually find the most common sizes from 1/2 in to 4in square tubing at local metal suppliers. I sometimes buy from big companies like Industrial metal supply. The square tubes I'm using are repurposed from an old warehouse i bought them from.

    Steel is cheaper in Australia than appropriate timber posts. It's crazy to think I can weld a rack which will be stronger and last longer for less.

    At the end of the video he said the total cost was $150… Are you kidding me. That’s amazing and at the same time in raging because big brand stores sell the same thing for $1000 online. This makes me excited and at the same time it pisses me off. Do you have earned my subscription and I will definitely be attempting to myself in the future

      he's using 16 gauge which thin compared to gym equipement that uses more expensive 12 gauge or 11 gauge steel tho that's not the only reason.
