Materials
Box with cards for Antonyms and their corresponding control cards
Presentation:
Invite the child and introduce the activity.
Invite the child to bring the cards to a table, introduce the title to him: "Antonyms cards"
Ask the child if he knows what antonyms means. If not, give a short explanation.
Place the title cards on the top of the table in front of you and the child.
Invite the child to read one set of cards, and place them under the title card in a vertical column.
Invite the child to read the first word from the second set of cards.
Place this card next to the first word in the column.
Ask the child, “Is this word the antonyms for light?”
If it is the right word, invite the child to place it next to the word
If it is not the right word, continue down the first word cards until you find the matching card.
Continue in the same manner with a few more cards, then invite the child to continue and work by himself.
When done, show the child how to check his work with the control cards.
Invite the child to repeat the exercise as many times as he would like.
Following Exercise

Invite the child to write the words or to come up with new words that antonyms with the Small Moveable Alphabet.

Invite the child to write the words or to come up with new words that are antonyms and to write them down on paper.
