EasyFur Rain Screen from Keene. Is this a Thermal Break?
Переглядів 8744 роки тому
Rain screens bring many known advantages to the wall assembly. Drainage and ventilation come immediately to mind, but how about providing a thermal break? Rain screen products isolate the siding from the shear wall, providing an insulating airspace. That's a thermal break! Do it economically with the EasyFur product from Keene.

Question? Do you know of any product that could be installed over Kingspan Sandwich Panels that give cool Facade/Architectural enhancements? Think fast frame, panels on the roof n side, back n partial fronts then jazzed up with stone, tiles, stucco or such… Panels unlike Zip Board/Sheathing don’t have the nailable/screwable attachment strength. Have you seen rivet attachments on such panels, and are the solid enough to withstand the elements?

If You want durable and functional, This product has unlimited applications!! I turned an unused living room area into a bedroom In two days with this product, we framed out the walls with an opening for a door, put up the Trusscore on both sides, put some soundproofing insulation in between added the door, and Wala we added another beautiful bedroom to the house. We also used it to make a European style wet bath because I didn’t want any grout or any drywall behind tile that could fail or rot. No, I’m not being paid by Trusscore to make these comments. The cost of Trusscore versus drywall plus labor to do all the taping, muddying, priming, and painting was equivalent. The difference is that drywall could eventually rot, get moldy, and is easily damaged versus the Trusscore, which wipes clean, doesn’t hold any orders, and actually looks very nice in a residential setting.

Stucco has been around a long time and proven on all buildings and climates. It does not have to be messy. How can a 1/4 inch cement panel compare to 7/8 inch plaster in wire netting? It cant. 7/8 inch stucco is one hour fire rated per code , no sheathing required to get one hour. Fiber panels as displayed require gypsum sheathing for that same rating.

I seen this product at the 2022 International Woodworking Conventions at a vendors booth who was using it in an assembly table. I am in the process of trying to get a sheet of this to play around with. My wife and I own a small business where we make home decor items like American wooden flags etc. This product would be perfect to make flags designed for mounting on the outside of a house or on a barn etc. I didn't know all the stuff you all talked about, so thank you so much for all the great information.

I've had 4 contractors to the house, not one has used or can source this mythical hardie stucco panel until November earliest. There is a furring strip called WaterairVent, it’s a unique composite furring strip that has channels built in which prevents trapped moisture from trapping behind the furring strip. The only thing I don’t like about easy fur is the price and I am concerned about them support the weight of a fiber cement board. Google WaterairVent and see what your think. I do believe it is also half the price of easy fur too.
