I've been running quads, Jeeps, and SXSs o the island for 30 years - before it was really "discovered" as a great offroad destination. Before that it was really only known to the island locals. The truth behind the removal of a lot of the obstacles was to appease the snowmobilers. The groomers had trouble with all of the rocks, and the sleds did too. In fact, about 20 years ago this all started with literally bulldozer some if the trails in order to remove the large rocks that caused problems for the snow groomers. And it has just continued on from there. I've got nothing against sleds, as I own those also. But with the winters we have had the past few years, the islands economy is making way more money from the iffroad hobby than they are from snowmobiling. I live close enough to make day trips to the island to 'wheel, but I don't even bother anymore because it's nowhere near what it was years ago.

It’s dangerous to run these off a battery cause if it dies then the room will fill with smoke. It requires a little extra for the fan to run after it’s shut off, but if the battery just dies it’s not able to go through the cool down cycle

Thanks for uploading this! I was REALLY wanting to do the Frame-chop bumper on my bone-stock 2024 Willys, but changed my mind when it said you'd have to hack into the factory A/C circuit. If I can mount a winch and only have to install spacers on the radiator brackets - this is back to my #1 choice....was resigned to getting the EVO Quarter Pounder with the Stinger for looks...but would much prefer a near-90° approach angle on a STOCK Willys on 285's - that's like an Off-Road Cheat Code!!!

Looks like it turned out good. Wondering how it treats on road driving? Have some 4yr old trail Graps and the siping from factory is almost non-existent like yours. Any sort of slush/snowy roads (not deep snow) talking heavy Midwest snow, my trail graps can't gain any traction. Gets sketchy than my RWD BMW on all seasons lol

Wow.. I can't believe what that trail has become. Back in 2002, I rode this trail many times, on my Polaris Predator. Even then, we called it a Pucker Trail because that's what you'd do on it. The main big hill on the trail, was scary going up or down. I can the see the effect of trucks and dune buggies on it. I've often wondered how much different it would be, 20 years later.. this showed me. Cool video and thanks for posting it!

Do the cases share oil? Or they get filled separately? I guess the new low box no longer has the fluid pump so I'd be worried about it burning up. I run full synthetic in my Np231 as is.
