    Man, I've been flirting with shooting film for a bit and have quickly learned that it's a privilege to do so. I live in a rural area where the only place within 60mins to get film developed is Walmart - something I didn't want to do in the first place. Not sure if the hobby is worth the investment and time for me, unfortunately.

      dang sorry to hear that! I know there's some film labs that take shipments of your film, but that definitely adds to the price :( I hope you're able to dip your toes into film one day!

    I totally agree. Just BUY this mouse. I have had the WAVE/ MS combo for the better part of 20 years. The keyboard still works but the mouse finally gave up the ghost, this past Tuesday. I bought an MX Master 3 & paired it with Royal Kludge RK-100 mechanical keyboard I got about 3 months ago. Those two devices pair well, IMHO, & I really, really, love the MX Master 3. I thought I would not like the little extra hump (over the MX Master 2s) but I took to it like a fish in water. It's just more natural. Mapping the volume to the side scroll wheel almost seems like a free +. (see what I did there). Great presentation & description of this great mouse.

    I've just sent my first film away and been told it is totally empty, the film has nothing on it. How could this have happened? Could it be the camera itself or my error?

    • @Anjroo
      @Anjroo 10 днів тому

      OH NOOOOO. So sorry that happened! The most common reason for a blank roll is not loading it correctly, so the film never got exposed in the first place, or the opposite, it was entirely exposed to light :(

    Mine came earlier! Excited to use and shoot photos with it. Anw, question is if I buy 27exp film and will detach/unload it from the camera, since it's a half camera, should I also rewind it twice the amount of the exposure? Or same as it is? Feels like a nonsense question but can't help to still ask anyway. 😅

    • @Anjroo
      @Anjroo 11 днів тому

    Chiming in as a film photography old-timer here. Many people in my camp might be thinking half frame what's that? Some newfangled gen z idea?? As a reminder half frame start of its life way back in the 60s with the Olympus pen. And as far as resolution of the half frame goes. It is going to be about the same size as the old 110 film. So if you got a decent picture out of that you will probably get a decent picture out of the half-frame 35.

  • @sebastianandres99
    @sebastianandres99 12 днів тому

    Thanks for all the useful info. One little trick worth mentioning also is that activating the flash also changes the aperture from f11 to f8! so you'll get a brighter shot even if the flash doesn't reach your subject

    Getting a "fat roll" jamming in your camera is never a film issue. It is a problem with the user, i.e., a failure to keep proper tension on the leader during the initial loading procedure. I shot 120 film for nearly 40 years before it happened to me in my Pentax 67. Keep restraining pressure on the film roll as you wind on the paper leader up to the "start" index, and you will never have the problem. He's very lucky he didn't strip some gears in the film advance lever, which is a mechanical weakness in the Fuji GS cameras (of which I've owned several).

    This is so helpful! Made a mistake of ordering the H35, and now rethinking if I should return and replace to H35N. Upgrades are indeed great particularly the glass lens, but the photo quality difference between the two is still minor and I’m just enticed with the nostalgic vibes of the film pictures. I have no interest in learning photography, star filter is not that remarkable, plus that sticky flexible thing is not even included, so thanks for clearing that! If I would’ve researched better, I’ll pick the H35N. But it’s not worth the hassle of returning, this H35 will do 😄

    Nice video! Arches/Moab and the surrounding area is still on my bucket list. In May I finally knocked out the Grand Canyon, Antelope, Bryce, and Zion but still need to hit Eastern Utah. Couple of questions. 1) How do you like the waist-level viewfinder? I have the eye-level but I'm really thinking about trying it. I had one for my Nikon F3, though, and my older eyes couldn't see very well. Yours looks bright and clear, however. 2) What's the coiled release you're using?

    • @Anjroo

      I like the WLF because it’s much lighter, but no meter so that’s definitely a trade off! And the cable is the cable release! The Mamiya 645 series used a proprietary magnetic release system, so it was niche and hard to find 😂

      @@Anjroo fair... I guess this is why 6x7 is so popular. It's the middle ground of size, frames, and resolution in medium format

      Yeah I’ve been eyeing a Mamiya 7 for that reason for a while now but the price tag makes me throw up 😂😂 Some other things to consider! -690 is fun if you wanted to texpan -645 has a light meter, and is lighter -690 is built like a tank, 645 is considered very fragile

    For around the same price, you could get an Olympus Pen (not the digital ones) but as an owner of one of these, the lack of flash kinda limits what it can do indoors unless you got an external flash.

    This is absolutely fun to watch all while learning so much. If I'm shooting more Kodak Gold 200 now, it's definitely influenced by you. All the best! (also this is the first time I ever commented on a film photography vlog because you are that good!)
