Great question! There is a story in the Bible of a guy who asked the same question. Acts 16:26-31 26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. 27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. 28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. 29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, 30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Here are some things to consider that will help make the story and answer clearer: What do we need to be saved from? Our sin and the consequences of our sin Can we do anything to saved ourselves? No, there is nothing we can do to undo our past sins. Our natural, selfish character that is full of lust and pride cause us to keep sinning. How can Jesus Christ save us? Because He is the Son of God and has the character of God, He never sinned and so was able to die to pay for our sins. He rose from the dead on the third day showing that God was sanctified with His payment for our sins. How can we be saved? Recognize the awfulness of our sin, understand our helplessness to save ourselves, and trust in Jesus Christ and He death and resurrection to set us free from sin and give us eternal life. Here are some Bible verses that may be helpful. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. Isaiah 53:5-6 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

We are sinners under the Death penalty of sin.. I think people need to realize that repentance does not mean to "list every sin you ever commited and to be sorry about it and ask for forgiveness." Repentance (metanoia in greek = change of mind) is to change ones mind about God and sin. Basically realizing that you are a sinner and lost and the only way to heaven is through Jesus. So changing your mind from unbelief to belief. Trusting IN Jesus - meaning what he did on the cross and therefore that his sacrifice is *enough* . That's what repentance means and this kind of repentance only happens once. Now as a christian we are to confess our sins as every sin quenches the spirit, but that has nothing to do with salvation. Salvation only comes by faith in Christ.
You should still do all these things but it is not the only thing you should do
Reminder: We're not saved because of our good works, but because of our faith alone in Christ alone. Because Jesus already took away our sins and paid all the penalty of sin on the cross, as he died on the cross. And "whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16). Our works are not requirement to be saved, but only by believing in Christ alone as our Savior. After we're saved, we can do good works, which doesn't affect the given gift of Salvation from God. (Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV, John 6:47 KJV)
I’m not sure if this helps but I’ve been everywhere asking for advice just hoping and praying but eventually I just gave up mostly because I saw as video games as a sin and even watching tv I was very religious even trying to force the celebrations from the Bible that the Jews did on my family my mom and dad and little brother and many more I worry for them I told my brother about Jesus but I’m not sure if I did it correctly and worried if that he dies he’s going to go to hell and that I will forever feel guilty of doing that to him while also in hell as I see myself as a lukewarm but guess now not a Christian at all I haven’t prayed repented yet I feel the fear of what is to come when I die my parents I worry of their salvation their Christians but I question if their really are and this lead to many arguments and even though I’m 19 and lived with her she sent me to Job corps and I worry for not just my immediate family but my half sister and nieces and aunts, and it doesn’t help that I recently grown passion like I want to get into art and animation as I made a story in my head and even going as far as wanting to learn to play instruments for the themes but I still worry for the me and the people I’m in with Job corps they provide a church, actually im going to stop here and I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read this and answer it, I know it’s most likely sloppy work but if I need to clarify anything let me know please and God bless you.

Jesus died and rose agian if you believe that he died and rose and were saved by grace through faith alone you will be saved. Once Saved Always saved no need to repent from your sins for salvation. ,
The good news is: Through Jesus there is salvation after death, but you must accept him as Lord and believe in your heart he died on the cross for our sins and was resurrected by the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The only way to heaven is through Jesus, when we repent and believe, it means turning from unbelief to belief , from trusting in ourselves to trusting and be in Jesus, asking for forgiveness, saying sorry, turning from sin does not save us, these are things we should do, and will do in love for Jesus saving us, but it does not save us

It's becoming so popular to say "This is what is taking Christian's to hell". What do I even do anymore. I repent but sin again and then I feel terrible. I am going to start studying God's character closely and model myself after him, but these videos scare me. It's like no matter what I do I'm going to be trapped in hell.
Yes, studying the Bible to understand God's character is a wonderful place to start. Unfortunately, many Christians spend so much time consuming television and movies that they really don't know the right way to behave. One thing to remember is that it is not by making ourselves better that we get to heaven. When we see how wrong our sins are and how helpless we are to escape from sin, then we can trust in Jesus Christ to forgive our sin and set us free from sin. His death on the cross pays the penalty for our sin. Just as we need to trust in Jesus Christ to save us, we need to trust is Jesus Christ to develop His character in ourselves. The moment we are saved, we are given the Holy Spirit so that we have the power to resist sin and do what is right. We still have the flesh so we will still occasionally. We won't be 100% perfect until we are in heaven. I recently publish a video called "Are you REALLY going to Heaven? 4-Question Quiz to KNOW for sure" that I think you will find helpful.
@@JeremyKundert Yeah. I know I'm guilty of not consuming enough of the bible and actually spending time with God. I think some of us (including myself) Say template prayers, like before a meal or before bed, Almost like we are giving God chores and then not doing our part. But I appreciate the content.

Yes, the afterlife without God is quite dreadful. To be alone forever with your regrets is almost unimaginable. But you can know that you will in Heaven through Jesus Christ. Heaven is a perfect place and God does not allow sin there. It is our sin that keeps us out of heaven and takes us to an eternity separated from all that is of God and His creation. Sin comes from our selfish and proud nature. We care more about ourselves than anyone else, so often we do and say things that hurt others and offend God. That is sin. But when we recognize the awfulness of our sin and want to be saved from it, and see that we are unable to escape from it by ourselves, then we can trust in Jesus Christ to save us. Jesus Christ died to pay the punishment for our sins and rose again from the dead to show us the He has the power to set us free from sin and that God is satisfied with His sacrifice. The moment we trust in Jesus Christ to get rid of our sin, all of our sin is forgive, we are given the divine nature and Spirit of God to so we have the ability to do what is right and we become children of God so we are guaranteed to go to heaven when we die. I agree with you, however I really do not like how you cut off verses when you present them, it makes you seem dishonest and it looks like you're taking them out of context when you're not, so please try to show the full verses brother, grace be with you
Fun fact: this dude isn’t God and has no clue what God is going to decide about you at the end of the day. So when he says something like your “sins need to be paid for” and “we don’t have the strength and ability ourselves” just remember that this dude isn’t God. When he tells your good works and charity aren’t good enough for you to get into Heaven just remind yourself that this dude isn’t God. At the end of the day, stop putting your faith in other humans like this dude who pretend they are God and just put your faith directly in God and see where that faith leads you 🙂

What should I do if I still doubt? I feel like that I trust God, Jesus’s promises, and believe the points in question 3 but what if I think I’m saved and I’m not? It always scares me so much.
Yes, that is a very scary position to be in. What is making you doubt? Or asked another way: What makes you think that maybe you are not saved?
@@JeremyKundert I’m not really sure. I know that I believe in God, Jesus’s promises about saving us, and that it’s normal to doubt sometimes. But I always have a constant sense of fear that comes out of nowhere that causes me to not feel at peace even when I am told that I should be. This is especially when I am trying to enjoy some of the games, fiction books, anime, and music as while I am told that they are fine to enjoy as long as spiritual discernment is applied. I am just constantly afraid of being not afraid since I’m worried that I’m fooling myself and that being at peace with enjoying things is just me ignoring God to enjoy things I like. I know that we are never enough and that we’ll always Sin and that Jesus will save us despite that but I am still so scared and worried about what to do. Do I abstain from all entertainment or am I actually not trusting God and thus not saved by not enjoying the forms of entertainment that I prayed for guidance on and pretty much every good source has been telling that it’s fine to enjoy fiction even ones with supernatural themes as long as spiritual discernment is applied???
@@JeremyKundert I’m not really 100% sure. Maybe it’s about the way that I live my life and whether I actually have faith. I’ve heard a lot of faith and works and it really makes me wonder if I have true faith since I’m not doing a ton of stuff (with the whole faith without works is dead) but I also know that we can’t earn salvation at all. I believe that I believe but do I truly believe??? It’s a bit circular and paranoid but I’ve been really with it. I’m also struggling with how I should treat entertainment such as music, anime, movies, tv shows, fiction books. From what I’ve been told it’s an issue of conviction (kind of like idol meat with the Corinthian Church) with a lot of these mediums containing supernatural elements for entertainment, fiction elements, and/or things that aren’t quite “Christian”. It’s a conflict between yes we are to deny ourself and pick up our cross but we aren’t told to enjoy nothing in life at all since God has also given us good things in this world. I’m kind of afraid that I’m not listening to God or not correctly understanding/doing what God wants me to do. I guess I know that I’m saved by faith but I’m afraid that what if I’m not quite saved bc I am constantly disobeying, not wanting to do what God wants me to do or intentionally interpreting something in a wrong way bc I want to enjoy sometimes, and thus not really having faith. I’m sorry for the super long winded response, I’ve recently gotten much more serious about my faith and these types of questions are the kind that have been scaring me, stressing me, and just have been unescapable as I am afraid to stop thinking about them as I fear that God wants me to think about them even though they sometimes bring me great mental agony

On the 2nd one, the lie isn't giving your life to Jesus. The lie is giving your life to a specific congregation, and doing what the leadership wants or the body of that specific congregation wants, masquerading as giving your life to Jesus. When you give your life to Jesus, he very much could have you in a congregation temporarily to grow, and then super suddenly call you away from that congregation. It doesn't matter how much you do for that specific congregation, it matters rather you follow him.
I always thought give your life to Jesus meant repent and trust in Him, but I could see how others would think it is just good works in disguise. But my reasoning is this. If you repent, you are striving not to sin. That is your goal. You are doing so because you want to live your life like Jesus wants us to. But then, that is not enough because we also need to put our faith in the work of the cross. This is in my opinion the essence of giving your life to Jesus in addition to repentance because our fates and eternal destinies are in His hands. We are literally at His mercy and where we spend the next life comes down to what or who we are putting our faith in. I don’t use the term give your life to Jesus in evangelism though, I focus on the knowledge of sin using the law, showing the need for a savior, and how one can be saved. Repent and believe, that is what is said in Mark 1:15

This is very wrong and right at the same time
Before I get further into this. for me right now, in the four months I've found my faith in God. 1. I believe in the gospel, that the bible is not only a historical document on the life of Jesus and God's word, but that Jesus is the son of God, died for my sins and has risen from the grave and will come back one day. 2. faith without works is dead as is a works based faith and a works based faith is believeing that by doing good or thinking you're a good person is flawed. faith without works is just believeing but continuing to live a sinful life. I've turned away from a lot of sins that had kept me trapped with the help of Jesus. 3. the narrow path is something I'm still struggling to understand, my current thought is that it is the path that is not bringing you to a wordly style of living and to not walk hand in hand with people who proudly boast of their wickedness... I also believe that I am a sinner, I can't change that, but I am saved. (Now I"m gonna watch the rest of this video, lol and make an edit afterwards.)
Great to hear that you found your faith in God! Everyone who trusts in the sacrifice and resurrection in Jesus Christ is on the narrow way, the way to life. Those on the narrow way still sin sometimes because they still have the flesh, but because they now the have Spirit of God, their life should be much more righteous and holy than before salvation. While they still sometimes sin, God sees them as saints because they are forgiven through the blood of Jesus Christ. I understand what you’re saying. The thing is, though, you need to do all of these things, AND repent. It’s like a cake. Without one ingredient, the entire thing falls apart But who am I kidding? Really, all you have to do is have faith and repent regularly Jesus loves you and wants you to succeed and flee from sin regardless
