Such an interesting podcast. I can relate to having an addictive personality. Raw dogging life (no substances or even medications) has been awesome. It's not easy, but it's great for the mind, body, and soul. My religion (Christianity) is helpful with it as well❤ Also finding out you're 6'2" is crazy. Tons of bodies want to become tattooers but the number that really put the legwork in with drawing and honing their art are few and far between. There’s way too much playing it safe, rehashing and doing the same designs over and over and over again. Way too many hipster influencer types who just get into it because they don’t want a “regular job” which is absolutely not the mindset to have and makes me nauseous when I hear that sentiment. It’s still work, even more so than a regular job in some cases.

We all have hobbies we become obsessed with. That’s how we know it’s meant to be. I’ve always been obsessed with tattoos, tattooing and all things with it. I love building and collecting machines. My only regret is that I didn’t seriously Pursue it. I am older and have a career. But I still consider jumping in before it’s really too late. I’m trying to set up my portfolio now and really think I’m gonna do it.

4:35 bro is getting deep. Never forget America’s founding fathers knew the truth. The only good government was a heavily limited one. Have a limited system of centralized government and the individual states can do their business. What does New York or Washington have to do with the Texas border? Let people deal with the sht they are dealing with but we completely threw it all on its side and you know what? It’s because there really is no good system. Do you know why? Because power corrupts people. Any way we try to compartmentalize things and try to spread out this power and influence, *somebody* is going to have control. It’s not even necessarily that the powerful people are just inherently bad and rotten (even tho a lot of times they are), it’s that *the* positions themselves are rotten. It takes a very special person with a unique integrity to run the helm responsibly and correctly, not even necessarily an inherently “good” person. Just someone who respects the power and the world. And anyone you meet is going to sell you on themselves so that’s where you get these politics and controversy cover ups and what not because we want to elect someone better so these people lie because they are regular often less than exemplary people who “need” to look better

Wow Kirk, thanks for the discussion about your sobriety journey. I’ve also recently had the realization that my main issue isn’t the substances I use or don’t, but the way I use anything just to latch onto for those dopamine hits. I’ve decided I’m going to try to replace those with “healthier addictions”, like fitness and drinking water, etc. But I know it’s something I’m gonna always have to be aware of and conscious about not overdoing anything, not just the drugs and alcohol.
