    This pen looks so beautiful. I have just purchased a Benu Talisman Venus hair. Brown with gold. Is your pen black with gold glitter or is it more coppery Brownish with the glitter? Hard to tell from the Video. Looks like a black base, but what about the glitter? I am a lady. I need to know. :P I also own a vanishing point Raden in the Galaxy finish that cost me quite a bit. My prettiest and most expensive pen so far. I love it a lot. Bought it in 2021 and it went up in price from then. I don´t have an Admok, but I love Schmidt nibs. I even have an extra fine which is not made anymore by Schmidt. Does the Admok M800 come with a Schmidt nib or did you change it to that? I think the Admok can´t be used with a converter. I associate it with Moonman. I have tried one of their pens and disliked it. So, you contacted them and provided the grip section with the nib and they sent the barrel and cap with it to screw it on? I could contact them and ask them to make me the same pen referring to your video review? I just found your channel and subbed for that stunning pen. Thank you for showing it!

      Firstly, I am blown away by the depth of the curiosity and interest that you and other people leaving comments on my channel display! We certainly share the passion, and I find it immensely rewarding engaging with you all! To answer your questions: the colour of the base tube / pen barrel is black. The lacquer applied to the surface on which the decorations are added is also black. The same black lacquer is applied again, to fully cover the shell and particles. It is polished back until the shell and particles are fully visible. The final layer of epoxy painted over the shell and metallic particles is colourless and translucent. All up, the thickness from the base lacquer, to the surface is only 0.1mm! The colour of the metal particles appears to be two-tone: partly red, and partly gold. I am jealous of your Raden VP! That is a seriously beautiful pen! The Admok is typically offered with the option of either Bock, or Schmidt. I have one with a Bock B and three with Schmidt B (four including one I gave away). I initially disliked Bock, due to a "B" sent to me with a ridiculously fine point. I think it was just bad luck though as I have since received another Bock B, that is actually broad. The Admok M800 is always piston fill afaik, but I don't like converter pens.

    I can *feel* your joy, and I'm so happy for you! On camera, that's an astonishing pen, so I can only imagine what it's like in person. Admok M800 may be *the* most underrated pen on the market - the soft 'click' when it's posted is so satisfying and reassuring; one rotation and the cap is off, yet it seals well; a *ton* of color options, all with stunning chatoyancy; it looks and behaves like a Pelikan Souverän M800 (even if it's slightly backweighted when posted); and now that it can be customized, in my opinion, the Admok M800 can almost become a grail pen. All that for under a hundred bucks. Absolutely incredible. Best of all, I don't recall ever hearing a bad word spoken about 365DayStationary. You're excited now (and I'm excited for you!), but please do an unboxing video when you see it for the first time. I'd love to see your reaction - and your bespoke design. Subscribed (with full bells), and eager to hear more. Congratulations!

    The Hongdian M2 can be had with a Medium nib. Got mine yesterday, from Amazon. Not crazy about the sharp threads or the much too skinny section. But it looks very good, seems well-engineered, and writes decently. For the job of "pocket pen", it's a steal at twenty bucks.

    • @jimkrieger776
      @jimkrieger776 15 днів тому

      @@WondersUnlocked Yeah, Moonman, and Jinhao, and all the other Chinese pens that I've seen. I'm not certain, but pen reviewers suggest it's because intricate Chinese characters require lines that are thinner than broad. And I guess the manufacturers are selling many more pens in their country than in ours. They offer extra fine, fine, and often medium too. And this is true not just for small nibs like #5, but also for #6 and even #8, which is a huge nib. Reviewers sometimes bring up the preference of some pen buyers for broad nibs, and some who comment on the videos mention it as well. I think the Chinese pen makers do check out the reviews and respond, very quickly sometimes, to what reviewers and pen buyers say they want. Or maybe their countrymen and women ask for the same improvements as our reviewers do. The Jinhao x159, for instance, went from garbage to a pretty decent pen in what seemed a matter of weeks. They learned that many people were interested in this large pen, so it was good business for them to improve it. But broad nibs might still seem to them that we're asking for too much. Or it could be a close reading of nib choice trends even in the U.S., where I think more people prefer F and M nibs to B nibs. If you look at the Goulet Pens website, there are several pens offered with just F or M nibs. And it's not because there are no B nibs made for those pens. Please know that I'm no expert, but this scenario is what I think is going on.

Since you're left-handed with that writing style, I feel like using a fountain pen might not be the best combination. But if you adjust your writing style, like Mick L-'the off-stage me'-he's also left-handed, but he's really adapted well to it. It seems to work great with fountain pens for him. When a left-hander writes with a stub (italic) point, the easiest way to get the correct angle so that the thicks and thins of the letters are where they should be is to orient the sheet of paper horizontally in from of the writer with the top edge of the page at the right, the bottom edge at the left, the left side of the page at the top, and the right side of the page at the bottom. The left-hander then holds the pen using the same grip as a right-hander, but the left-hander writes the text (from the writer's point of view) vertically down the page, whereas the right-hander writes horizontally. But for both writers, the pen is at a comfortable angle in the hand, and the thicks and thins of the letters are the same. I introduced italic handwriting at an elementary school using this approach for left-handers, and the students quickly learned and could write at speed (and more comfortably than when using the hand contortions common to left-handers). Another benefit of this method is that the left-hander''s writing hand rests on the uninked portion of the page, like a right-hander's.

    Your video appeared in my feed. Nice work, thank you. I have several Pelikans, both early models and modern m200 series pens, older low-price pens and the modern Twist. I bought the Admok 800 from a seller on Ebay. Their photos showed a gold nib, but the pens have steel nibs. On contacting the seller I got the most convoluted, dishonest runaround ever, and neither the advertised gold nibs nor a refund. Apparently this has happened to buyers on other platforms and in other countries, as well. I'm in the US, and a Canadian pen blogger who bought this pen from another seller also got steel rather than gold nibs. My negative review will stand until and unless the seller does something to make it right. Had it not been for the false advertisements and the contradictory excuses offered, this pen might be a new favorite, low price notwithstanding. So pleased that you like the Bay State Blue, one of my favorite inks: reliable, bright, smooth, good flow, and I keep my edc loaded with it. Never had any problems with it whatsoever.

    Great list! Thanks! A piece of advice, if I may: fountain pens are not to be treated like ballpoints. Any movement you make with them should be slow, measured, and calm. That's the entire point (forgive the pun) of using a fountain pen; to return to a time when life was slower and more enjoyable in a form of 'meditation' and 'mindfulness'. With respect, you were the primary cause of all the 'leaks' in your pens by flicking them around like they're 99-cent disposable Bics (lol). If you rewind to 2:43 (when you were using the Jinhao X159), you can see the sudden movement you make as you turn the pen, and, of course, the resulting ink splotch. This is particularly true of #8 nibs (bigger feed = more ink, and more ink = more sensitive to sudden movements), less so for #6's and almost unheard of in #5's. When I took up fountain pens, I had terrible anxiety and was treating my pens in a similar fashion. I found that having a cup of *decaffeinated* orange pekoe tea while I wrote helped me to slow down (black tea contains L-Theanine which relaxes without tiring). Just a few thoughts. Cheers and thanks again! P.S. If you like Diamine Arctic Blast, you'd probably love Pilot Iroshizuku Asa-Gao. About the same colour, but nicer shading.

    I write in English - in cursive. Kuru Togas are the only mechanical pencil that I enjoy writing in cursive with. In fact, before the Kuru Toga I wasn't a fan of mechanical pencils. I had never found anything I truly enjoy writing with - other than Japanese felt tip pins. I'm really looking forward to getting the DIVE. Thank you so much for this review. I don't understand the comments about "chicken scratches" - other than from total buffoons who know nothing about Japan and Japanese history. Fine - if you don't like that pens - but those kinds of derogatory remarks - come from extremely low IQ people.

    • @WondersUnlocked
      @WondersUnlocked 2 місяці тому

      I wouldn't recommend using the Dive to write cursive! The point to the Kuru Toga range is to prevent uneven wearing of the lead by rotating it automatically when the pencil is lifted off the page. With cursive writing, this feature doesn't work well, because the pen is lifted only once per word: Japanese and Chinese characters, and English print lifts the pencil far more often than with cursive. That said, the Dive has the additional feature of automatically advancing the lead. This will be useful for you, as it needs to happen less often than the lead rotation. Of course, you can like whatever pencil you like, and it need not be due to the same feature as it is for most people who like it! Thanks for the comment ☺️

    Hello quick question is it okay to retract the lead of this pencil once you’re done writing?

    • @WondersUnlocked
      @WondersUnlocked 3 місяці тому

      Yes no issues at all. Not sure why there would be?

    I LOVE Asvine pens and I'm having to fight the urge to buy the P20 in every color. I have two Admok pens; with the Schmidt nib; and I find them to be excellent pens, if a little on the pricy side.

      I have started putting Kaigelu nibs into them. Omg what ridiculous BBB flow from a M. Almost Pelikan M1000 flow!

    This mechanism (it is also in the plastic model KS, it also comes in 0.3 mm, the mechanism can be rearranged) has the advantage of less play in the tip, but the disadvantage is that it does not retract itself when writing, and it cannot be removed for carrying either. so it is a controversial option. I prefer the plastic advance version, until I bought Dive :)

    These mechanical pencils are amazing 😍!!! Hands down the best! I tried the original and oredered the advanced and advanced upgrade after writing one sentence with the original 🤣. These make you want to collect them! I want the Dive and this one as well. I prefer them in .3 but thats not an option on all them 😭. I am learning japanese and well they work amazing when practicing and learning new Kanji and sentences. I have learned to write cursive while making the mechanism rotate. Just press harder on down strokes and let off pressure on up strokes, like a flex nib!!!! Awesome video!

    The ink flow in that Majohn P139 with F nib is outstanding.. incredible! The pen shape is a bit too classic for my taste, otherwise I would have jumped on that one. I am sure in person is much more convincing than on pictures, that was the same wih Asvine V200 pen for which I was very hesitant to get it due to back finial desing and o-rings, but man.. what a fabulous pen is it! It's on my top 3 pens in my collection. How did you managed to get a P139 #8 size nib from Aliexpress? I never saw it available. Again a good job with this video! Would you mind in providing more details about the pen prices and stores you've bought from? Thanks!

    hey mite! greetings from a lefty from Singapore to the lefty here down-under! we lefties would often look odd to other folks because the way we hold our scribbling instruments scribbling for words. i'm a fountain pen user for close to 35yrs ever since early secondary education. and i found a way to avoid smudges from wet pens, just by turning the scribbling pad/paper 30~45 degrees to the right, we can achieve comfortable writings without have to stress our wrist due to inward twisting. by doing this way, fountain pen nib can be pointed down in a gradient angle to proper writing without the need to write in upright position. hope this helps, and don't be too concern that others look at us oddly... anyway, lefties are odd anyway, when they tries to write on pad and papers placing upright.
