Pootuffy Fishing
Australia
Приєднався 19 лют 2023
Welcome to the 'Pootuffy Fishing' UA-cam channel!
I basically like fishing.
I will try to get videos out at least every two weeks, but if this was my full time job you best believe I would upload almost daily and not once a month like most full time fishing UA-camrs out there. I'll be fishing all over Australia and beyond, I'm a flathead fishing nerd (I actually suck) and will do everything it takes to get a one metre flathead!
If you would like me to feature a product in my videos you can find my email address in the channel details section! If I like the product I will do my best to make some cool films using it and trust me I will actually shout out the product and send people in the direction of where they can get it unlike all the big fishing UA-camrs who simply use the product they're getting paid to use without ever saying what it is or where they can buy it...lol
Enjoy :)

Swim-baiting the Shallows after Sunset
Went out on a whim post sun down after dinner to try rush a session on the flats chasing big dusky flathead! Was fun to use a 19cm swimbait to chase these beasts and manage to get a huge strike in less than 30cm of water! Enjoy :)

Back chasing dusky flathead on the flats, but this time I've added a diving lure into my arsenal, using this Daiwa double clutch 95! This lure worked well at the start of the session, catching a nice dusky flathead on one of the first casts, but I realised that it may have been diving a little bit too deep for my liking (constantly digging into the sand). Moving forwards I will use this lure on...

The flatty Said....'Please let me go". Great Video....Love the swim bait and the underwater Shots. Keep em coming.
Hahaha I think you're right! Thank you :) More coming soon!
Let's go!! Great vid bro
Finally got another one out! Thank you bro! More on the way now :)
Hi, nice video. I'm from Croatia but haven't really fished on sea that much. I'm fishing in freshwaters like some lakes and ponds. You should try to fish in freshwater with ultra light tackle because there are some nice bass, perch and of course pike in them. Hope to see you return to Croatia and do some more fishing.
it was very funny comedy he made lol he try to make funny right? or he never see real big fish before?
What was the castimg power of your rod whem you where fishing in croatia last summer
2-4lbs and casting up to around 5 grams
Thanks@@PootuffyFishing
Loving your video mate!
Thank you legend!! Appreciate it :))
Epic flathead thanks for keeping your videos clean bro no swearing or carrying on like a complete idiot 🤙keep catching
Ahaha can't be swearing never know when my grand parents are going to be watching one of my vids haha! Thanks for watching brother! More coming very soon
That is the smallest grouper i ever saw
Nah it's huge trust me haha! But yeah it's tiny, was excited because it's a new species for me :))
Thanking God for catching a fish is so real
Hahaha it's gotta be done, was praying hard to catch on of these
amazing place for casting fishing, lots of great strikes...👍🙏
It's an awesome place for sure! Thank you for watching
Where in port Philip bro I NEED T9 COME
Find some rocks and you'll find the fish!
casually having a $950 setup
the calmest flatty ive seen! 😂
Hahaha yeah it was pretty chill
Nica fishing bro, nice island also :) that is a baby grouper, quite lucky to got it, you can keep them if they have more then 45 cm, so you see he is just a preschooler :)
Yeah he was only a small one! But I was so excited to have caught a new species in a new country! Maybe I can get a bigger one some other time :)) Thank you for watching!
Congratulations on that awesome flatty. Do you recommend any rod for lure fishing? And if you don't mind what's could tell me the name of your spot?
Thank you man! For flathead I recommend something like a Millerods VibeFreak! It's somewhat of a mid/high end rod around $300-400 so not crazy pricey and worth the price for sure, perfect for soft plastics and hardbodies! I don't discuss spots and probably never will, firstly because it wouldn't be fair for the locals if I sent my followers to their local areas and creating traffic in their home zones. But it's also mainly because there's nothing special about the spots I fish, in fact compared to other areas I'd say my spots are actually kind of bad, the reason I fish where I fish comes down to accessibility for me and the success I have simply comes down to time on the water and learning how to fish a particular area! Half the fun is finding a new area and giving it a go, you can have fishing success similar to this if not better in any estuary system from North Victoria to Mid Queensland, but areas Mid/North NSW are notorious for big flathead if you're after the giants, hope this helps.
Any tips how to start fishing in coratia ?
Which fish would you like to catch?
Dude that was awesome. Thanks. That was a monster Fat Flatty.
Thank you sir! Was an awesome fish for sure, one of my best for the summer!
Have you tried fishing bent minnows and top waters for them?
Funny you should say that because I have a few bent minnow videos on the way! Had some awesome hits off the top! should be out in a few weeks :))
Yewwww cheeky Sunday upload! Mega Flatty!!
Yessirr!! More coming soon brother!
Congratulations on that huge flatty mate
Thanks legend! Was so excited to catch it!
what size is the lure
3 grams
Love your flatty dance! 😅
HAHA glad you appreciated it, only cost me a spine to the foot...well worth it 😂
Great vid man Love the swim bait fishing don’t see it much in aus 😊😊
Thank you for watching legend!! Yeah it's a great way to chase some fish, if anything it just makes it more interesting being able to chase some fish on new/different lures! Got more swim baiting films on the way 💪
@@PootuffyFishing bloody oath man your probably one of the best aus fishos that I’ve seen
Haha thank you legend! That means a lot 🫡
bro please do a lure collection tour of your hard bodys
Might have to add that to the schedule, would be fun to look through them all! I go through a lot on my TikTok in some older videos, but should make a full length video :))
I bought 10 of these for $2 each in various sizes and colours (gold and silver) on a bcf sale years ago. Savage Gear is fucking great honestly
Hahaha thats awesome! Such a great lure for the price, works/looks better than a lot of high end swim baits!

glad i found ur content. great vid!
Thank you! Thats nice to hear, welcome to the channel 🤙
Bro how do upload so often, they’re always such good videos too, also what’s your flatty PB?
Haha thank you brother! I filmed so much over summer that I've built a few videos up! My PB is 85cm, but I've caught like 4 that were 85, just can't seem to break it. Might have to spend more time fishing in north NSW to find the giants!
Love a good fish
Same my brother! Thanks for watching :)
The guy says can’t believe how good the swim baits work. What he isn’t considering is it’s a swim bait used by you. Whole different story. I’m learning the hard way, that like all other sports, the best do better. Tailor fishing off a beach yest my friend, who can fish, outfished me 8-2 and also landed a 2kg Salmon. A good fisherman with same gear and setups will almost always outfish an average fisherman in same spot. Hope yr good Mr Pootuffy!😮
Hahaha that's too kind! Still learning how to use hard bodied lures for sure though, love using plastics so much, but it all translates across to some extent! Thank you for you watching! Appreciate the support! I hope you have a great weekend 🫡
Yesssssss love a new pootuffy vid
Yes my brother!! took my time to get one out, but should have another out next week! Hope you enjoy 🤙
Awesome footage. You are the Flattie wrangler. Great work. thanks
Haha thank you brother! Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it 🙏
Can't believe how good the swim bait works
I know dude! Insane action, were super fun to use! Will definitely be a permanent lure in my arsenal whenever I chase big flathead in the future! 💪
bro love the new vid man ive been an og not subed the hole time tho but i wanna ask when will you be doing some squid vids coz they were fire have a good one
Thank you brother! Appreciate the support! Man I definitely wanna get back to squid fishing real soon. In the next couple months I'll definitely get out and make a couple films, I miss getting out in my kayak so will for sure get back to it soon, so keep an eye out for that!
how good is that plastic recapture. I always see swimbaits getting fished and even the cheap savagegear ones getting some fish but unfortunately I've snapped off my only one into some dirty water without catching a fish on it haha
Hahaha yeah was probably the most insane capture for the day! Honestly the cheap savage gear swimsuits look better than a lot of the $50+ swim baits out there! A shame that you lost yours, but I've been them in BCF bargain bins for as low as $5 before, so if you're there at the right time they don't tend to break the bank! Might be worth another shot this coming Spring! All the best 🤙
Yes bro!!! Another banger vid.
Thank you my brother!! 🙏
Awesome fishing mate, can't get my head around how many big flattys there are
Hahaha there's quite a few! But then again during the time I filmed these videos I was fishing like 6 hours a day for a month ahah so I'd be bummed out if I didn't get a few 😂
Sick video again bro the swim baits look so cool. I'd love to see a video of your setups too they all look so good and I'm super into the gear side of things too
Thank you my brother, appreciate the support as always!! Will definitely do a fishing tackle overview soon, been meaning to film one for a while! Have a great rest of the week legend :))
@@PootuffyFishing you too legend. I look forward to seeing it
Amazing session champion, well done, great catch that 7 inch jerk shad,
Thank you brother!! Was such a fun session for sure, still can't believe I hooked that jerk shad haha! All the best 🤙
Nice vid. What weight lure?
Thank you! From memory I think the jig is around 20grams and the diving lure is 9grams! The metal jig was quite a bit over the weight rating for this rod but it seemed to handle it well haha! Hope this helps
@@PootuffyFishing cheers mate. 👍
Hey man what an insane video! You are killing it bro. I was wondering if you had any tips about making fishing videos because yours are rly professional
Thank you brother! That means a lot :)) When it comes to making the videos, in my case it helps that I have been editing random videos etc on editing software since I was a kid so I know my way around it. However, if you watch a few basic editing tutorials on UA-cam of you editing software of choice you'll probably be up to scratch in no time! I also make sure to record in the highest GoPro settings (5.3K 30fps, SuperView, 10-Bit Colour, High Bitrate etc). I try my best to cut out parts where nothing is really happening to try keep the videos flowing well. I think the main tips I can give is to get a good editing software, they can be expensive at times unfortunately, but its a great skill to have anyway and UA-cam tutorials can tell you everything you need to know! But if you add a nice LUT (colour preset) to your videos, add good highlights/contrast/saturation and also sharpness then your footage will look really good! This might be a bit technical but another thing I also tried was to optimise my export settings out of my editing software for UA-cam, I use Final Cut Pro and unfortunately you need to buy an additional Apple software (typical of Apple) called Compressor to really fine tune your export settings. On Compressor you can make custom export settings and to you can find the optimal UA-cam Export settings here if you are interested: support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171?hl=en. But generally I export my videos at 5.3k in MPEG4 (MP4) as UA-cam likes MP4 better than other formats like MOV for example! Just have fun and experiment with editing techniques and with different things to film, I honestly still feel very new to the fishing UA-cam game and am trying to improve my vids all the time. I honestly look at my earlier videos now and think they're terrible, and I'm sure in the future I'll think the same about the videos Im putting out now haha, it's all a big process, but I hope you can make some good videos for yourself! All the best :))
Simply don't use stinger's. Might not get every hook up but beats feeling like shit
Agreed, had to learn the hard way I'm afraid

Love your videos! I've recently started fishing not long ago and I'm just wondering whether or not you scent your lures, thanks!
Thank you so much 😊 That's exciting! I hope you've enjoyed it so far! I do scent my lures, generally only my soft plastics though! I have a range of scents I like to use, but I mainly use Pro Cure, S Factor or liquid mayhem scents! Hope there's some good fishing for you on the horizon :))
