    Nice setup and croc 🐊 . How do you find the RG guides on the Zenaq Snipe 76x? Improves casting distances?

    • @Pootuffy
      @Pootuffy  8 місяців тому +1

      Thank you brother!! I do like the RG guides, I haven't compared them against any other zenaqs, but I really like the feel of the rod and I'm sure they help with the casting distance. For me I've found them to mainly help reduce line wrap around the guides. Out of three months fishing, I've only had the line wrap around the guides twice and that was when I had an insane amount of twist in my braid. So they are definitely a good rod, and feel amazing!

    Im looking to fish my local lakes and want to target flathead. Are they good to chase even though its closing into colder weather? And would it be in my best favor to go 16lb fluorocarbon leader line so I deter other species? Thanks!

    • @Pootuffy
      @Pootuffy  8 місяців тому

      It's always worth a shot! If you're up in mid/north NSW or QLD then you should have a pretty good crack at getting some all year round, if you're down in VIC it may be a bit tougher to find them in the colder months, but they can still sometimes be around! Where abouts are you located? Because that'll determine what sort've techniques to use/if you can catch fish into winter. I like 16lbs when I know there's a chance of some giants around, but if you're confident you won't run into anything much bigger than 60cm, then a 12lbs is fine too, anything 12-18lbs works well for flatties and you shouldn't be at too great a risk of getting busted off!

    Hey pootuffy, my name is Kane and I have always wanted to do these types of sessions. I’ve done it once and got a 26cm dusky. Wondering if you can make a video using that swim bait from a couple videos ago.

    • @Pootuffy
      @Pootuffy  8 місяців тому +1

      Hey Kane! Nothing wrong with a 26cm Dusky! Always have to start somewhere, just keep researching new places and practicing new techniques and I am sure you will find some big ones very soon! There will definitely be a video coming out very soon where I use the big swimbait! I have already filmed one, just need to edit it! Should be out soon :)) Thank you for watching brother! Means a lot 🤙

    Those nets are the worst for trebles, like you said you need a better one. One with more open area but I've also noticed they are a bit pricier

    • @Pootuffy
      @Pootuffy  8 місяців тому +1

      Yeah this net is absolutely shocking! But I have since got a new one which has been a game changer for me, you'll see it featured in upcoming vids! Got a rubber net with really big holes, haven't had any issues with it at all, was a bit pricier, but has so far been well worth it :))

    Hey man, I've been subbed for about 3 months now, I've been wondering, what does your channel name mean? Pootuffy?

    • @Pootuffy
      @Pootuffy  8 місяців тому +1

      Hey brother! That is honestly a very good question haha! To tell the truth it all started when I was a little kid, probably around the age of 6 or 7, I was making an account for the online kids game Club Penguin if you've ever heard of it, and I wanted to try sneak what I thought was a bad swear word at the time into my name. The worst word I could think of at that age was 'poo' so I snuck that into a username which became "pootuffy". Ever since then it kinda stuck and I went on to use it for basically all my usernames on games like Fortnite etc throughout my life. On top of that when I first made a UA-cam account as a kid, I also called it pootuffy haha. When I first made this account I wasn't sure what exactly to call it so I just added the 'fishing' onto the name of my old UA-cam account and just let that be it haha. My name is Josh and at first I was just gonna make it some iteration of 'Josh fishing' but then I realised that probably 100 different 'Josh Fishing' accounts already existed so I left it as Pootuffy for the time being. If I'm being honest I somewhat find the name a little bit cringe worthy and sometimes think about changing it to something else, but I guess it'll have to do for the time being and might actually be here to stay, we'll see! Thanks for watching :))

    • @peter166
      @peter166 8 місяців тому +1

      @@Pootuffy Wow quite the backstory over so many years and its stuck. Thanks for the Response Josh, I reckon the name should stay, I think just name your boat Pootuffy, then if anybody gets upset blame it on the boat! haha.
      Cheers, Have a wonderful evening, I'll be looking forward to the next vid!. PS. It's amazing how every vid you make always involves flatties that are 60cm+ but when you look at other youtubers from Aus many only on the odd occasion crack 50cm or even 60cm, its always the 30-40cm mark found in the vids.
      Either your a cracker fisherman or you have ha cracker spot, perhaps a bit of both???
      Regards, Peter

    • @Pootuffy
      @Pootuffy  8 місяців тому

      Hahaha it definitely is quite the backstory!
      No worries Peter! And I agree actually, I think the name is weird to a point where it'll at least make people remember it more hopefully haha! But I am also in support for the idea of chucking it up on the side of my boat too haha! I have been honestly quite lucky to catch so many big ones, I think part of the reason is because I opt to use really big soft plastics which generally helps sift out the smaller fish! Also fishing in shallow water helps too. I find the big ones go really shallow to hunt, where as the smaller ones tend to congregate around deeper drop off etc! It's all trial and error at the end of the day, but I do also like to think that my experience has some role in it, but I'm sure it mostly comes down to time on the water and trying different techniques! Thanks for watching, for the support and for the kind comment, it genuinely means a lot! I hope you have an awesome evening too and a great rest of the week, another video should be coming soon, so keep an eye out for that!
      All the best :))

      And who says Flathead can’t fight, what a load of bollocks! Mind you how would I know, I’ve only caught one over 70cm, looser, halfwit, or just bad Flathead fisherman, one of the above. Ha! You’ve definitely inspired me to go prospecting in shallower water, maybe go wading those shallow flats on the rising tide. Hope yr good tonight Mr Pootuffy!
