My Son's First Song

I made this intended as a 7 second looping Vine. But I'm an idiot. I didn't know that you couldn't access the camera roll. Oh well.
Casio CZ-101 Synthesizer
Переглядів 10 тис.12 років тому
This is a song made entirely from a Casio CZ-101 synthesizer (with a bit of delay and reverb), trying to mimic analog bass, leads, and drums. Not the most thrilling video from a visual perspective (these are just some pics I had taken awhile back for an eBay auction), but uploaded mostly for an example of its sound.

This is a song made entirely from a Chroma Polaris synthesizer (with a bit of FX during mixdown). Not the most thrilling video from a visual perspective (these are just some pics I had taken awhile back for an eBay auction), but uploaded mostly for an example of its sound.
Casio MT-400V Synthesizer with Analog Filter and Stereo Chorus

I made this quick video for an auction around June of last year. I sold the synth, but I've kept the video up.
Episode 2: Sequencing drums and melodies using LFOs
Переглядів 26 тис.16 років тому
Not many synths have a mod sequencer like the Korg MS-2000 (demonstrated in Episode 1). But that doesn't mean you can't use LFOs to trigger drumbeats and melodies. This video features an ESQ-1. While it has a sequencer, it doesn't have an arpeggiator, or any decent internal drum sounds, and certainly no way to key-trigger those sequences. This tutorial will show how to get decent drums and even...
ESQ-1 Digital / Analog Synthesizer (Episode 2 Deleted Scene)
Переглядів 56 тис.16 років тому
Full video - ua-cam.com/video/GfGR0q3jUiw/v-deo.html This is a deleted scene for Inside Synthesis / Episode 2. It demonstrates the use of LFOs triggering sounds on and off, emulating arpeggiators and sequences. It's useful for any synthesizer that lacks real-time phrase/drumbeat triggering, such as the ESQ-1. I didn't use it since the timing was off. If you play too many notes on an ESQ-1, the ...
Episode 1:Turn an analog modelling synth into a drum machine
Переглядів 57 тис.16 років тому
This is the first episode of Inside Synthesis. It's a tutorial on how use a Korg MS2000 as a drum machine, but you'll still be able to play bass and lead lines over it.
Soviet Analog Synthesizer - The Polivoks
Переглядів 74 тис.17 років тому
This is a demonstration of the Soviet Polivoks Analog Synthesizer. Ever so often I'll get a comment or email about how I refer to it as "built like a tank". It was a bad choice of words - I simply meant that it looks like a piece of military equipment. Physically, it's no more solid than an Arp Odyssey.
Korg M1 Synthesizer - Part Two "Plus 1" Expansion

The "Plus 1" expansion contains 4MB of high quality samples - it's really quite a nice addition.

    Sold my old M1 few yeas ago but I purchased one in completely mint condition 3 days ago. The M1 was my first real workstation class synth back in the 90’s and it will be close to my heart for good. Now I will keep this one as long as I live.

    Fantastic programming skills "williamenroh", makes me look like an amateur. I have come across this video a few times before but never commented. Thank you for this, much appreciated!!! I never understand why people leave thumbs down on people's videos, I just generally walk away if it's not my thing or it isn't very good. That person has still spent their time and effort to upload a video, no need to put people down :-)

      Yep the internet began with the invention of WWW in the late 1980s. The network it runs on began in the late 1960s / early 1970s. Email also began in the late 1980s. It's hard to pinpoint when social media began, as some of it was about 20 years ago, but most of it is 15 years or less.

    I've got the Korg M1 VST - Is it as good as the real thing?

    • @looneyburgmusic
      @looneyburgmusic 7 років тому

      Better in some ways, not as good in others.. Part of what gave the actual M1 it's "lush" sound is the low-quality DAC's. The VSTi M1 loses out there, but the VTSi has better fx's and a resonant filter, something the hardware M1 lacks. It's totally subjective - the average listener can't tell the difference...

    I always find it funny that out of the D-50 and DX7 and M1, no one makes any custom patches for the M1 while there's a plethora of sounds made for the D-50 and especially the DX7

    • @SPAZZOID100
      @SPAZZOID100 7 років тому

      Dane Hansen boring synths. I like knobs.

    • @autumnbrushtail
      @autumnbrushtail 7 років тому

      So you judge keyboards by their interface and not their sound? It doesn't matter to me how a board's interface looks. I'll take the time to learn it and go from there~

    • @Ishkur23
      @Ishkur23 7 років тому

      Because the DX7 uses FM synthesis to generate its sounds whereas the M1 uses acoustic samples (with subtractive synthesis to modulate them). That's why.

      James Reeno Knob jockey, then? 😉

    • @EgoShredder
      @EgoShredder 4 роки тому

      @@franklyfarmtours Some people like to play with noises and others like to make actual music compositions and arrangements. So knobs not that important to me, just a decent set of keys with velocity and aftertouch, and mod / pitch wheels.
