Practical Spirituality IV: Humility in Recovery
Переглядів 1073 місяці тому
From the perspective of someone with a decade of sobriety, humility plays a crucial role in substance abuse recovery. Humility, in this context, is not about self-deprecation or low self-worth, but about accepting one’s limitations and being open to change. It’s the ability to recognize that addiction had control over your life and that you need help-whether from a higher power, a support group...

Hey everyone, welcome back to the channel! Today, I'm excited to share an in-depth review of my personal surfboard, the Sharpeye Inferno 72. As someone who is 6'1" and 185 lbs, finding the perfect board can be a challenge, but this one feels just right. Its a little more volume than i usually ride but i didn't seem to notice the extra foam as the tail of the board felt super loose and snappy. M...

Looks amazing! any tips to make my phantomgogo r1 faster?
Hi thanks for this run down but couldn’t agree less. I have both, recently put the phantom out for sale. It’s a slow board and you really have to work to get anything out of it. The red tiger on paper look very similar in regards to what they both do but in reality it’s a way livelier more fun fast board. Hands down the red tiger ftw
thanks for another good one.how whould you compere it to the phantom and which of them did like better?
exectly what i needed..so,for 3-5 bechbreaks, phantom or inferno 72?😅 which is better padler and faster?
What’s the big difference between the Inferno 72 vs the Pyzel Phantom?
Jake have you tried the Pyzel white tiger?
which one paddles better??
Thanks for posting @jakewetzel3186.
The tail of the red tiger looks really pulled in compared to the phantom.
Inferno 72 or JS xero fusion?
I72!
nice man...have you tried the White Tiger?
Have you tried the Pyzel White Tiger?
How different would the gremlin be if i order it with a round tail? Thnks
round tails/thumb tails have a little more hold through turns. It could allow it to hold a little better in some bigger waves as well. It depends on preference. i personally got this is a square tail for some more slide/release riding it as a thruster.
Im looking to use it in slight oh waves cant wait thanks 😊🤙🏼
First time I watch your videos, you are ripping. However, at the beginning I felt you weren't that good when i saw your backside. then i saw your frontside and changed my mind. Maybe try and surf some more rights, only trying to give constructive criticism.
Looks great on the bigger head+ sets ripping bra cheewww

Epic review man, love mine too. What’s your height and weight for reference ? Thanks
Ordered a custom in my dims and was very disappointed. I ordered it 30 liters and floats and feels like 33. Seems like they tried to make a board that would work in small and big waves both and it ended up not working well in either.
This board is next level speed as a quad. If you are struggling with speed in flat spots try it in quad
What about replacing the same tire if it goes flat how to find the same brand model number
Thanks for posting. Any downsides of the Pyzel fins? Just ordered a set for my ...Lost 3.0 Stub Driver and ...Lost Voodoo Child boards.
U like red tiger or inferno better?
I72 with john john techflex larges
Would you recdomned the red tiger or inferno 72 to an intermediate surfer on east coast surfing mostly waist to chest high waves most of the time? (I already have a phantom for a Daily driver, wanting something snappier)
Do you feel the inferno 72 or red tiger would do best in usa east coast surfing (waist to head high punchy waves
Hey Jake are you still surfing this thing? I ride a pyzel white tiger when its under chest high and mushy. I'm looking for a new daily driver board for like stomach/chest high+ for San Diego waves. I am deciding between a few pyzels (red tiger, phantom, mini ghost) or going and getting a custom from Marcio (disco or inferno 72)
@@ginjaturtles id say the inferno 72 is the ultimate chest -head high weapon. its so fun and fast. Phantom is a good option too. Both boards can hold a little better in bigger waves with techflex fins. jjf large- I72 AM2 techflex large- phantom inferno 72 wide point center (back footed surfer) phantom wide point forward (front footed surfer) hope this helps. both super sick daily drivers
@@jakewetzel3186 hell yeah super helpful thank you!!!
Good daily driver mate? Or is there a better option in your opinion?
@@Ronny439 for me it was a good option with waves with punch. its more of a shortboard with a wider tail. the phantom by pyzel or the inferno 72 had some good speed and liveliness for chest-head high waves.
What weight/height are you? Thinking of getting a Ghost myself but not sure about the sizing. Still liking it?
@@Asator66 i am 190 , 6’1. that ghost i had in this video was 6’0 29.9 liters. it was a fun board for head high - DOH+ i now have a 6’2 x 19.63 x 2.69 32.7L i would say i prefer the bigger ghost because i like to ride it as a step up when the waves are hollow, big, and when there is a lot of current. the extra 2 liters honestly doesnt feel too different as the tail is very thin and responsive. it still turns like a smaller board but the extra foam gives me a little more confidence when its big. and has a longer rail line. you can literally push this board as hard as your legs can push. still love the ghost when its firing. paddles great into bigger waves. We just had a hurricane swell here in california, and i reached for the ghost and had a blast. no brainer for me when the waves are epic.
@jakewetzel3186 Appreciate the feedback bro! I'm 5'10 170lbs, from what you said it sounds like a 6'0 would be a good option for me for when the waves are good here in indo, or possibly the 5'11. I think the ocean is different here with not much current as in Hawaii and the waves are maybe not so open so the lesser volume option may be better suited. But I've spent so much time thinking about it I probably just need to stop overthinking it haha
Hey mate, This or the red tiger for every day beachie?
Was wondering the same
How about the gremlin? I like a. Lot speed. The surfboard companys these day need to come with new models no matter what. Marketing thing. Is really Interesting to me that the Medina board the DFk that he uses everywhere the shaper says that works 3 to 10 F waves.
best AD i ever seen XD.. the ybasicly ruingin that thign anyway ans it still go.. glad i have already XD,.., seriously liek 15KG of metal just a frame..
Brilliant review, I am riding it atm and I love it. A lot of what you said is true. Tks
How is it compared to the rocket wide ?
Hey, are there any mods available for my Phantom r1?
What is the purpose of drunkenness?
Thank you for inspiring me!
You know it’s a good day when Jack drops a new review, especially about the new JS Xero Fusion. I think I’m gonna buy one. Nice soundtrack!
Do you think you will do a board test on the Sharp Eye Storms model? I like how you surf and the type of waves in this video are what I usually ride in San Diego. I am debating on either getting the Inferno72 or Storms. Curious to see which one you prefer if you have a chance to review the Storms 🤙🏼
i have reviews coming on the twin turbo, disco cheater, and cheat code
Hear a lot buzz about the inferno FT but it’s quad only didn’t know if you rode that board ?
What are your thoughts on the inferno vs red tiger?
i think it really depends on your preference. I like the red tiger for its simple feel and predictability and it did seem to grovel a bit better. The inferno was extremly fast and loose and has more un-predictability which i prefer nowadays moreso begause it livens up california waves. If its any indicator when i just went to Tavarua, i brought my pyzel phantom and pyzel ghost. If I didn't have the phantom i would have brought the red tiger for its precision surfing and hold on better waves/reef breaks.
@@jakewetzel3186 such a complete answer! Thanks a lot!
Thanks for this review - do you like this better than the Sub-Driver 2 as a daily driver in SoCal?
ya i have been riding my inferno more and more as time has passed. the subdriver 2.0 was a great board and but honestly didn't really find a sure spot in my quiver. I liked the driver 2.0 in mediocre/good waves and when it was smaller i ride my grovellers. IMO i think there are more lively boards in that range that i have stuck to. The inferno 72 lights up with the right fins. (sharpeye fins or Futures F8) it was a night and day difference between raked fins for me (AM template) was a little drawn out for the board. Id like to try the john john fins in the inferno as well. But to answer your question my favorite daily drivers for socal have been the inferno 72 or pyzel phantom for 3'+ waves in socal.
@@jakewetzel3186 Thanks man! Just ordered one, gonna pick up and take it out this weekend. Fin recommendations really helpful, will prob just get the Sharpeye fins if I don't like the ones I have (Surf N Show Raked)
@@jakewetzel3186 Thanks man! Just picked up the inferno72 this weekend, pumped to try it out. I met Marcio incidentally at the Sharpeye store, very cool guy. He recommended always use large fins and could even use a medium fin as trailer
@@dr.spengler1863 ya! enjoy it and lmk what you think
Kalax soundtrack is the best for SoCal
Tak, už bych lezla z vody😳
I used to have a Darkarts 72 and loved it, mine still groveled well. I wonder if it was because it was Darkarts that it groveled well.. but the fins I used that I really liked were the f8 vaporcores and the tokoros. I just got a new one last week with more liters a xtr10 72/FT HYBRID , 5 fin swallow tail with the rocker in the middle of the two boards and I been riding it with the h4 quads and it feels really good, kind of what you were saying tho, not the best groveler with this version but when you stand up it just goes FAST! Gonna try the FT or the AM pro fins in it soon
i found that the sharpeye fins have a lot of drive and hold but have good release. They were a game changer in this board. It came off the bottom well and was snappy through turns. (best of both worlds). I have yet to try the f8 but they were recommended by sharpeye. So i could see how those went good.
Like Jake said the board "not carrying speed to much" - I found you have to surf it off the tail using the thruster setup more. It's not like a Pyzel that you can draw speed off your front foot and press forward to keep momentum through flat sections or to keep up with running wave. It made me surf off the tail more and do better wraps that accelerate from back foot pressure. But unlike a Pyzel that excels with forward weight in late takeoffs and drawing off forward weighting for speed it would slip or not track with forward weight. Any surfer who's heavily backfooted will think this things a dream. Any neutral or forward footed surfer will need to adjust. It's hard to grovel with because you cannot use the forward part of board to bump and pump for speed without losing traction. Wraps with heavy tail pressure and peaky shoulders with some speed that don't run too fast, this boards a dream.
Awesome reply, thanks
awesome reply, i couldn't have said it any better. After getting used to it. I also think this board is a dream!
My light don’t work 😢
I just added fuzzy dice to mine, now my mod is complete.
How this board comper to shadow xl.who you like better in head pluse🎉
the shadow i rode in hawaii definitely had hold in bigger waves head high+ although to me it felt a little dead if the waves were even the slightest bit mushy. The inferno feels more snappy and lively than the shadow, but when it becomes powerful, its hard to slow the inferno down for critical turns in barreling waves
@@jakewetzel3186 Hey Jake, sick surfing How would you compare it to the red tiger? You said a lot the inferno 72 needs a bowly wave whereas Ive heard the red tiger prefers less sloped waves. Would you agree and do you know any other differences between the two?
I just got a shadow and haven't tried it yet. I've ridden a lot of Pyzels and like their forward bias. You can draw off your front foot and forward weighting. I'm neutral to forward foot biased so the Inferno was a rude awakening. It made me use my back foot more and do better tight wraps with speed. I got better using it but it's very much a backfooted surfers dream. Like Jake said its snappy or really squirrely or lively. But also when waves get round or fast or you have to make sections it's kind of gets tricky to ride.
@@Nathan-fo4vq ya the inferno and red tiger are both great boards. Both wide point center and are snappy in the pocket. The inferno 72 and red tiger are pretty similar in a lot of ways just with a different feeling due to the rockers. The red tiger did carry speed through flat sections a little better and had a more predictable shortboard feeling. (like you were never going to catch rail or have the board do something weird). The inferno 72 is more lively and has a ton of speed when the wave offers it (more than the red tiger). It can do tighter arcs in my experience riding it, and with the right fins (sharpeye fins/futures f8/John Johns) it a dream board in the right conditions. chest high+ and lined up so you can get some speed. So really it comes down to your preference. Do you want a predictable board that surfs great in the pocket and can handle a little bigger waves overhead+ (red tiger)? Or Do you want a more responsive lively board with a ton of speed that is a little more unpredictable and tops out around the head high to slightly overhead mark?
@@jakewetzel3186 Sweet as, thanks for helping out and giving good insights into these boards
