48:00 Based Based Based Based Trainers are so good, but you need investment into the game already, to be motivated to do this. So I think missions should be indirectly designed like trainers, potentially. Like, you can have another commander in game, like 'Valerian', offer 'the more you produce of this unit for a trade, the more reinforcements I will send your way'. And the reinforcements roll the enemy composition. So you are incentivized to maximize your production. Thats basically all you need to do, produce many x units by y time, then you get a powerful army to play with. So, this teaches good fundamentals in mission format. But it should be proportional to how much you produce, otherwise you don't have a reason to push yourself beyond the minimum.

While not in the talks for GOAT, I really love watching Reynor, Dark, Byun etc. because everything can happen. With Serral it's more like watching a really advanced computer playing. Either you overcome his programming with variables or it ends as predicted.

I considered trying to communicate with Blizzard how I felt back in 2011/2012 regarding the state and direction of WoW - but at least back then Blizzard employees (forum blue posts specifically) seemed to have an attitude of "That's just your opinion, our DATA says otherwise" and I'd bet I wasn't alone in the non-creator/professional community back then that felt that way. Dailies weren't ever fun - but they were requirements for rewards so of course people did them. Then the data says "everyone does dailies all the time" and they just lean into it more because that's "engagement". Then people get bored and quit, but who knows why that happened? It's probably a similar thing over at the SC2 side - with it being always online they could harvest data from matches and make decisions based on that. Which can certainly work, but do that too often and you might end up making the game less fun instead. Also, I definitely like SC1 movement and controls more than SC2 - being able to select everything and have your army move in a big blob just isn't as fun as wrangling a hundred zerglings by the dozen.

As someone who watches a lot of Nick's brother (Sean Plott - Day9), it is *really* weird seeing the exact same expressions and vocal inflections coming out of someone else!

What a wonderful interview, reallyglad you startred with saudi section. Like i get it we HAVE to be critical and use our potential audience/capital power as an audience responsbily. But at the same time we also have to try to balance supporting the scene and the players who deserve more. I wish it wasn't but even as an american, we know all those corporate sponsors come with baggage. Hopefully atleast moving forward if they host or fund our scenes they dont get to define them, that our community/orgs get to be it's leaders
