@chriskey8575 Thank you Brother! Happy you enjoyed the content. Are u looking in to getting an LSG? Happy Holidays!!
Ed did you have the tuning plates in when you used this basket?? Thanks for the video.
Thanks for checking us out💯 I’m sure I had my tuning plates in as I never remove them. My. next cook I’m going to take them out except the one closest to the firebox to see how it runs. Hope this helps, God bless you and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
You can put the bad boy back on the shelf... Looking brand new
Big Dawg!! Thanks for the love. The only thing I wish I did differently was go with the semi gloss black but I’ll wait about 5 years before I repaint it😂😂
@gratesbbq Having to redo in 5yrs is called job security...lol
Good job
Thanks for checking out the content! Appreciate you Boss and HAPPY HOLIDAYS
Looks Good Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
Thanks for the kind words Boss and Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!!
Let me tell you something. Oxtails are 10.99 in most stores in my area, (utah )and 7.99 at Costco so I ain't mad at Costco
Anyone who likes oxtails like I do you good
Appreciate you taking the time to check us out and also commenting. Much love and God bless you.

I didn’t hold back a thing Homie💯🤣
Brined turkey is phenomenal! Add the smoke and you can’t beat it. Best turkey I ever had.
🔥
What was the music you played while cutting up your vegetables
Eeeeeyy Bub! Huge apologies for taking so long to respond but work has been insane. Lol. The song is called Smome Jacket Blues by Track by Track Tribe. Thank you so much for checking out the content and again, sorry for such a prolonged response. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend. Peace and blessings to you
saw my video i see lol just kidding lol good stuff bro, rendevouz ribs are second to none
What’s up Brotha?! I absolutely did see your video. Thank you for sharing and hippin’ me to that Hickory salt💯. I watched and read EVERYTHING I could find about the Vous and and you definitely had a hand in helping me piece this puzzle together. These things were so good I’ve done another video on it but haven’t started editing yet due to some Holiday cooks I’m working on. Definitely want to thank you for checking out the video, commenting, and inspiration for this Rendezvous recipe. God bless you Brotha.
@@gratesbbq oh man wow!!! i was just joking lol lol thanks for checking me out! The rendezvous recipe is amazing and your channel is amazing! Rock on bro!
Yessaaah!!😂😂 I don’t mind giving credit where it’s due and definitely enjoy your content. I made sure to sub. I’m gonna try out your Florida BBQ sauce next. Thank you for the kind words and support and God Bless you Bro.
How is that tank maneuvering up hill? Thinking when they deliver it, it got to go up my driveway & my driveway is not on flatland? Will the delivery folks help or nah?
Thank you for this thorough vid brotha. You made me a believer, I been contemplating on what smoker to get. This solidifies my decision! Good lookin out. Humble & genuine. God bless
Thanks for checking us out and thank you so much for the kind words. This is truly an amazing smoker and as good as it looks in videos that still doesn’t do it justice in terms of size and craftsmanship so Congrats!! A company called runner delivered mine and I too have an inclined driveway. I made sure to be kind to my delivery and asked him could he get to my garage for a cool tip😄 it barely cleared the garage did but he got it done and I gave $25 which he gladly accepted. I was able to uncreate it and made a make shift ramp to roll it out the bottom of the crate by myself. Looking back that wasn’t very smart but I was too excited to wait. Have some extra guys give you a hand with in rating and moving it because if this thing falls it’s gonna take a strong team to lift her up. Also order a few cans of LSG Paint for any mishaps and maintenance down the line. Getting the pull handle is a must and once she shows up make sure to cure your paint properly. I would also suggest checking out my LSG seasoning process video. Worked really well and kept everything nice and clean. Congrats and Thanks again. God bless you Brotha. -Big Ed
@ thanks big Ed. Your feedback is very much appreciated. God bless you & your family 🙏
I called the company, they said to marinate for only 30 minutes because it can change the texture of the meat. Was that your experience? Please explain.
Thanks for checking us out. I suppose I can’t argue with the folks who make it. All I can say is I always marinate for an hour plus and all is well. Lol
So do you think 8 hour marinade is good? I’m going to do chicken thighs for a large group. I’m using the pit barrel cooker. How long do you think I should marinate based off of your experience?
Take the skin off and your golden if going for 6 hours and your golden. Take them to 182 to 186 and you’ll still have some juicy yardbird
Y no bark wats a smoked piece of beef w no bark
Thanks for checking us out. These oxtails were smoked strictly for smoke flavor and a red color. Gotta keep soft and juicy bun. No bark necessary with these as they are packed with flavor from the seasoning and braising liquid.
That oxtail took him around the world dancing. Looks yummy! Thanks.
Eeeeyyy!! Yea they did, YES THEY DID!😂😂 Appreciate the kind words and THANK YOU SO MUCH for watching and showing us some love💯 Peace and Blessings
Ok brah you did that 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
First off thank you for supporting the content Brotha Stacy and I definitely appreciate the kind words. That was my first time trying Memphis rubbed ribs and that Rendezvous rub hit right! Such a simple cook but Man! The flavor on them things was mind blowing. Thank you again for watching and commenting and may God bless you and yours✌🏾
Did you put thermometers on left side, I think you would get higher temperatures.
Firstly, BIG THANKS for watching the content as we GREATLY appreciate any support that comes our way. The actual thermometer is in the middle but I also have 2 oven thermometers that can be moved wherever u want them. You are right about the left side being the hot side but that generally on the lower grates the heat is actually cooler on the two upper grates and with these tuning plates you can makes this thing pretty even all the way across as long as your not using the lower grates to do so. Hope this helps and God bless you. Thanks again
nice to hear someone being honest about pricing. For me these are $10 per lb. So I'll try to find ones that aren't so fat. Appreciate you putting the info about the boiling to get the yucky stuff out.
Firstly, thank you for checking out the content. We definitely appreciate the kind words Boss. Glad you were able to take something away from this cook and I don’t think you will be disappointed once you put these things in the smoke. Thanks again and may God bless you
Looking just awesome, I bet they taste awesome too
Thanks for the kind words Boss!! Definitely appreciate you taking the time to watch and giving us encouragement to continue creating BBQ content. Thank you again and Hod bless you
Looks delicious!! Great job!! Did you have to add any more charcoal ?
Thanks for the Love Brother. Definitely appreciate you taking time out to watch as well as leaving us some kind words. As far as the charcoal goes, that was plenty. It was still burning nice and hot well after the cook. B&B Charcoal always had hefty sized lumps which is why it’s pretty much my go to brand. Hope this helps and peace and Blessings to you.
Great good job
Appreciate the kinds words Boss. Definitely appreciate your support. May God bless you and yours.
That chicken looks fire 🔥!
Thanks for the love Mr. Tate!! Definitely appreciate the kind words and you taking the time to watch. God bless you
Flavor to the bone!!!!
Looks great! Do you use any of the tuning plates or have you taken them all out? I have this smoker on order and can’t wait to get it! I hear some people say taking the tuning plates out makes them run better so I’m curious if you’ve tried that out?
Thanks for the Love Bro. Fan of your work as well💯 Running this pit without tuning plates is damn near the only thing I haven’t tried on this Smoker. I have messed around with it plenty but no matter what I do it just runs great and I can’t say that I have ever struggled with it. The left side is hottest side on the first 2 bottom grates but cooler on the upper two so it pretty well balanced. The directions come with the recommended spacing for the plates and I find the top be pretty on point. I think you are gonna love this pit and I don’t see you having to remove them to make it run better. I do run my pit with water and I know a lot of people prefer not too but it works damn well for me. Congrats on the pit and feel free to reach out anytime. Peace and blessings and Thanks again
@@gratesbbq thanks so much!! I can’t wait to get it and I’ll definitely try it with and without the plates and maybe biscuit test with no plates just for fun. Thanks again and while I wait I’ll keep watching your great videos!
I should have my LSG cabinet in the next month or so. Where do you position those tuning plates and where in the Cabinet do you find to be the most consistent temperature. Always looking good! Thanks!
Well, first things first- CONGRATS on your Smoker, you are going to fall in love with this thing. Your smoker will come with instructions on how to set your tuning plates and you can kinda adjust as needed. I would highly recommend checking out my “biscuit test” video here on the channel. it’s a really detailed video that not only covers hear from left to right but too to bottom and may answer many of your questions so check it out. I also have a best LSG mod video that shows how I got my temps even all the way across. Thanks for the love and support and enjoy that Smoker. Peace and blessings
Love your videos. Got my LSC cabinet smoker 6 months ago and get depressed if I have to go more than 5 days without a fire. Question: what’s the benefit of using the fire management basket side to side?
Thanks for checking us out & CONGRATS on the pit!! I totally understand your depression😂😂 firing up my pit never get old and it’s always an amazing feeling. So here’s why I like setting up my basket horizontally. 1. I feel like splits burning horizontally is the common way pits are ran. It’s kinda like a wide band of even heat going into the smoker vs a narrow stream when it’s set vertically. Of course this is theoretical😂 but it makes sense in my mind. #2. and this is actual and factual, setting the basket horizontally give you the option to move your fire closer to the cook chamber or further away from it. This is an amazing ability to have as fat as controlling your heat goes. Hope this helps and Keep on Smoking!!💨💨 Peace and Blessings.
Nice! How do you go about disposing the water in the cabinet afterwards? I have not tried putting water in my LSG cabinet yet and I wanna try it.
Thank for watching and we definitely appreciate your support. I typically, 1. Drain the water in a bucket and pour it in my yard waste trash on top of the grass clippings and ashes from my smoker. 2. If my yard waste can is empty I simply line my bucket with a trash bag and let my pit drain into that, tie it up nice and tight and put it in my regular trash can. There’s usually not to much water left after the cook and in some cases it has completely evaporated so don’t be scared to try it out and it doesn’t affect your seasoning process which seems to concern folks. Water and grease doesn’t mix and the water drains first so.. hope this helps and thanks again. Peace and blessings
Good job Big Ed! I remember a few years ago we both got our cabinet smokers from LSG just a few weeks apart. Glad to see your smoker is still holding up beautifully, these things are built to last and will definitely outlive us!
Eeeyyy! Thanks for the love Bro. I’m absolutely amazed how well this thing is holding up. I’ve had to touch her around the firebox. Especially where the griddle door is. Rust was setting in pretty good but nothing a wire brush and LSG paint couldn’t solve and she was back looking like new. I know you’re still loving thing and I’m teaching Jr. how to run it since he’s still interested in bbq years later😂 So I know this thing will definitely live on. Thanks for the continued support. God bless you Brother and SMOKE ON! 💨🍺
Good eats!!!!
Thank you Beautiful Lady!!😍
My man...!!! Looking good like it should... Your family eating good... Stay blessed big dawg
Bro! What’s good? Hope all is well and thanks for the kind words and those rubs are lit!! Big thanks Homie, Your a real one and God bless you and your Family my Brother🫡💯💯
Good to see you back on the LSG!
What’s up Brother, good to see ya and hope all is well. it’s ALWAYS a good day when I fire her up. I use her a lot more off camera LOL. Recording while smoking kinda takes away from the experience and man, the enjoyment I get it outta things is priceless! God willing,we will capture a lot more cooks on her as the years go by. We definitely appreciate the continued support Brother. May God continue to bless you and yours. Smoke on💨💨
Have you tried adjusting the tuning plates to see if that results in some more even temperatures across all sides of the grate?
Thanks for checking out the content! We definitely appreciate it. I have adjusted the tuning plates and even added a large tuning plate from my Brinkmann that made it run dead even. I still reverted back because it’s great to have a hot area for things like chicken. I have found that you can make this thing run however you want with practice and experimenting. Hope this helps and God bless you.
Great Job fam. You got a new subscriber
Eyyyyy!! Appreciate you Boss🫡💯 Welcome to it Family. I Definitely appreciate you helping to grow the channel and taking the time to not only watch but commenting. Thank you for the support and peace and blessings to you.✌🏾
how i mix the black magic??
Thanks for checking us out. Black magic is a combo of approximately 2 parts W sauce, 1 part water and 1 part vinegar plus your choice of seasonings. Hope this helps and God Bless.
what's in the BLACK MAGIC?
Thanks for checking us out. Black magic is a combo of approximately 2 parts W sauce, 1 part water and 1 part vinegar plus your choice of seasonings. Hope this helps and God Bless.
Great cook bud! Ribs were on point! thanks for sharing! New sub here!
Thanks for the kind words Boss💯 Glad you enjoyed the content and HUGE thanks for helping to grow the channel. I typically only post one or two vids per month but I put my heart and soul in every cook. We Definitely appreciate your support and peace and Blessings to you.🏆
That cumin coal is horrible it destroyed one of my cooks.. Never Never Again!
Sorry to hear that Bud. I didn’t pick up any flavor from it on my direct heat cook. I will say I wouldn’t use it for smoking though. Thanks for checking out the content and peace and blessings to you.
Maybe that was different I use a gravity feed. It wasn’t direct, maybe that was the issue?
@@djallstyle Although it shouldn’t be, I’m sure that was the issue. Your meat absorbed a healthy dose of those flavors from the cumin briquettes. I kinda feel like this charcoal wasn’t the best idea Kingsford has come up with. Seem like you pick up no flavor from direct cooks or undesirable flavor when you use it to smoke. I knew something was up when i bought it from HD for $2.50 a bag. Nevertheless I bought 14 bags😂. Some Cumin and some Basil and thyme. Figured if they tasted bad I could pick the flavor cubes out and just use the regular briquettes and still come out on top for that price. Never had plans to use it on a smoke except possibly trying to smoke some poultry with the basil and thyme flavor but now I’m scared😂. We live and we learn so smoke on Brother💯💨
No doubt… I bought it for the same reason. It was 5 dollars but, the entire bag was all cumin & the other was all thyme & basil. So glad I didn’t use it for a brisket. It was horrible on my chicken. #SmokeOn 😂💨💨
Support you brotha keep doing what you doing!
Yessah! Appreciate the love and continued support my Brotha💯 May God bless you
Ribs look fire... I love direct fire ribs on my santa maria over oak... You got me craving ribs homeboy...
Big Dawg!! Thanks for the Love Bro! Just got back and opened that package. Absolutely grateful Brother, was HOPING you would lace me with a REAL Santa Maria seasoning. Cant thank you enough Brother. I’ma put these bad boys to use💯💯 You the Man🫡 peace and blessings
