      • Get clients • Follow shippers, what they want you to do • Make sure you focus on areas on which your heading too not just the long distance stuff price according to area (tough! To do) • GET CLIENTS!!! Aim to learn to how to get clients • You can’t get clients from Cx Because the shippers have them so it’s called poaching • Get to understand the shippers that are in your area so they can rely on you in future and they will call you direct if you do a good job • FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS!! It’s so important Your representing yourself & the shipper • get your feedback up by doing a few local jobs decent rate for yourself but make sure you ask on the invoice or the notes - don’t call and pester doesn’t work - bottom of the notes “much appreciated for the work, would really appreciate some feedback on my CX account” 👍🏻 you’ll find your feet Follow other drivers - eddy logistics, Freddie fletcher - etc on UA-cam 👍🏻 great information from them Control your cash flow! It’s so important So your not rushing and forcing co loading

      Correct, it’s not always like that and it’s very difficult if it’s a direct delivery That’s the concept of CO LOADING If you ever hear that said But if it a direct delivery then it’s not allowed

    • @whitevanman9569
      @whitevanman9569 5 годин тому

      @@BrentFord93 I presume you meant "If it's a direct delivery then it's NOT allowed". It's pretty rare, in my experience for shippers to agree to co loading and that makes it very difficult to achieve (if you do it without permission, you'll get caught out eventually and get bad feedback!). When you do get a job that allows co loading, you'll find it extremely difficult to find a shipper that will give you a co load job to get that second job - most want dedicated vehicles, with direct deliveries.

    • @BrentFord93

    • @BrentFord93
      @BrentFord93 4 дні тому

      To be honest, from what I’ve seen roughly all have the same types of jobs on The apps are used for outsourcing overloads of works. If that makes sense. Deliveryme Shipley Same day courier network Anything that’s a bidding platform is based for shippers to outsource for sure. I’ll be using the others in the coming months to test them

    • @BrentFord93
      @BrentFord93 4 дні тому

      Private customers are all about networks, who you know & who you’re getting around sharing your business with… For example in the last 7 days, how many people have you told you run a courier business? It’s a slow build-up of trust & stability for the customer because you’re moving their living.

      Personally, it’s built to outsource client work You need your own client base to then use CX for collections to client work or to backloads back home for yourself If you use it for full time work it’s a struggle but it’s always been built for the above mate Any jobs you can’t do for you to push it on CX which then creates more supply then the demand goes up so on and so on 👍🏻👍🏻 hope this helps Own client base Aswell could be 1 to 5 clients not mega amount

    How much shall I charge per mile for a Luton van?

    • @BrentFord93
      @BrentFord93 17 днів тому

      You have to first find your running costs If it’s 50p - 80p etc Then aim for 3x your base cost or 4x So if it’s 50p charge £2 a mile if that’s not getting much traction after 25/50 approaching customers Drop it to 3.5x your base cost

    Constructive feedback. Your voice is too quiet at times so I find myself turning up the volume, then getting blasted out by the music. Keep your hands on the steering wheel otherwise there won’t be any making every mile matter. Love the enthusiasm and positivity, too many folks lose that in this game. Keep it up buddy.

    It's definitely tough out there at the moment. Somewhat to be expected during the school holidays, but does seem worse than normal. You actually live in one of the best areas in the country for the CX, so what you're seeing in your home area will be a world of magnitude better than what most drivers are seeing! With respect to prices per mile - It's tough to say - ppm isn't the best metric to use. For example, £3 per mile on a 30 mile job into Central London would be pretty poor, but 85ppm on a long distance trip from Exeter to Sheffield, might be pretty damn good! Eddys Logistics did a pretty good video on pricing recently which I mostly agreed with. If you haven't seen it, check it out. Unfortunately, the industry approach is somewhat obsessed with PPM and while it is a total shippers market ..... they pretty much set the terms. My personal favourite metric is profit per hour. So I count time from when I step out my front door in the morning until the time I step back indoors in the evening (or between minimum of 8am and 6pm if I'm tramping) and I count costs on a PPM basis, across all miles, not just loaded miles. At the moment, it's coming out well below minimum wage. It's not uncommon at the moment to be sat waiting for work for 5 or 6 hours (and then still not getting anything). Patience definitely required at the moment! If you're insistant on per mile income, then so far this year I'm running at about 73ppm (all miles, not just loaded miles) in a midi van. I work to costs of 35ppm (all costs, fixed and variable, and depreciation on the van). So my profit so far this year can be assumed to be around 38ppm (all miles). My preferred measure - profit per hour is £10.78 after costs. Obviously that's average over whole year - it's considerably lower than that at the moment. And it doesn't include time, such as now, when I'm home, watching the feed and bidding on work. Your monthly target sounds, bluntly (if you'll forgice me), ridiculous to me. £2k a month, something like £500 a week, £100 a day. That'll be a profit in the region of £50 per day, after all costs. Say it's a 10 hour day. You're working for £5 an hour if I've understood everything correctly!

      hi, much appreciated for the comment! great feedback. live in a great area getting out is quite easy. getting back is very slow sometimes but I can land close. yeah, I saw eddy's video really well put together. right ok makes sense with the hourly when you do it like that. I dont see it like that but definitely food for thought. my 2k minimum is what I would like happy to work with that, just due to me having the other business and it allowing me to learn for sure I'd love to earn more but to be fair, driving is not the best way to earn from what I've learnt so far i think its just realistic for what i need to do while im building client base its all good ill keep learning FANTASTIC FEEDBACK! much appreciated!

I noticed that your video SEO score is too weak according to your needs. Because of that, your video is not reaching your target audience. You will be glad to hear that I can help you increase your SEO score so that it is top on the first page of UA-cam which will increase your subscribers and views organically. So, if you want to do this, I await your response.

    Hello HAF, any chance you could explain the Facebook analogy? Thanks

    • @BrentFord93
      @BrentFord93 3 місяці тому

      Absolutely… this is how I look at it FACEBOOK is an exchange of service Facebook is a blank canvas it’s filled with people’s days Facebook is empty until we post on social media - it’s then consumed by our family and friends and when something is valuable it gets shared around Facebook then sell that attention like CX they sell the attention of fulfilling the work competed -- CX - is empty it’s a blank canvas with all the tools to build on It needs drivers & work to be fulfilled otherwise it’s pointless because they don’t market for work. They market for completing your work for you. It’s a service exchange Freight forwarders post to fulfil orders - they set the price CX in the middle Driver - wants the value of that job based on what they want to go to and from -- Uber - the market for people to use it. The price is set by Uber The drivers are paid by Uber The driver's days are filled with Uber Big big big difference -- I struggle to articulate the way I think once I've got that 😂 ill be able to make more sense but in trying and working with better people Who can turn my mind into content words & video 👍🏻
