One of my all time favorite movies...at the time I was living in Colorado, working construction and traveling the high country and back roads with a good buddy and our dogs. Lots of adventures and high jinks, cruising old timey bars, smoking reefer, chasing pretty gals, living the mountain life Just the best years of my life.

This was a great video and a different perspective on Key West from a”Jimmy Buffett” point of view! Very interesting! 🩷

Thank you for the insight you added into his life! We all loved Jimmy, and as I remember him this weekend a year later, I still grieve. He left us as appropriately as he should on a Labor Day Weekend! Always his biggest shows! The stories I could tell of how my children was brought up on him and how they came to love him as well is priceless! His story will live for many years....

Loved your video. Liked and subscribed. Travis McGee lived aboard the Busted Flush, a houseboat moored in Bahia Mar marina, Fort Lauderdale. I think Jimmy just nicked it for the rhyme but the spirit of Travis and John MacDonald is equally at home in the beautiful Cedar Key.

A lot of information I did not know. Thank you so much. Seeing Jimmy Buffett perform live in concert was on my bucket list and I had planned to see him last summer. Unfortunately, things did not work out for either Gym or myself. He is sorely missed. But when I do get to Key West,which hopefully won’t be too far off in the future, I will definitely be visiting all of these places. Thank you.

I lived in Islamorada, Tavernier but south of Tavernier Creek Bridge, for 25 years. Every time I went to Key West I walked the Cemetery. Favorite bar and entertainer? Smokin’ Tuna (sold) Caffeine Carl and the Buzz.

The church in Ringling probably was painted white decades ago. McGuane's ranch scenery is terrific.

Interesting places he lived in Key West. I always enjoyed visiting down there when I was younger. Too expensive now. Way to many people discovered it and now it's a big boutique.

I’m a Montana Native. I served in the Coast Guard. I found it to be an absolute hoot that Jimmy was kicked out of the Coast Guard for smoking dope. He sure showed them!!!

The Murray Hotel was also the home of Sam Peckinpah for a while, bullet holes are still in the walls and ceiling of the room he stayed in.

Another Buffet story. I was in Dutch Harbor, Alaska in about 1991. Jimmy came flying into town unannounced. The word was he was doing research on a book he was writing. He gave a free one-man acoustic show at the Elbow Room in Unalaska. Last song of the night was A Pirate Looks at Forty. I was working. Didn't get to go but had friends that did. The book turned out to be Where's Joe Merchant?

was just in Key West last week with the family on our annual vacation most of the family have been long-time lovers of Jimmy and his music, lovers of the early Jimmy Key West influenced music. I wish I had subscribed to this earlier before we went down. I did some Jimmy Key West research but after just watching you posts on Cedar Key which we visited in 1995 because of Jimmy and Incommunicado, and the this post - your song backstories are better that anything I read - thanks!
