Got to sit at the bar with Cap Tony back in the 80's and Jimmy Buffet and the Eagles were my 1st concert in 77 at the Miami Baseball Stadium

🎶🎶🧜♀️🌹Captain Tony was very personable . He would chat your ear off for hours. Married, I believe he said 5 times, with over 20 children and about the same amount of grandchildren.🧜♀️🎶🎶🕊️🕊️

Dude, I just listened to that and that was so Cool Thanks for sharing that special moment with captain Tony. And that incredible story about our A special friend that we will never forget jimmy buffett
Thank you for the kind comment and yes, we will NEVER forget Jimmy.
Many people who actually knew Jimmy, do not recall him with such fondness. I have heard stories of Jimmy owing a lot of people money and things that he would borrow but never replace. I always wanted another chance to see him and talk with him myself . I wanted to cuss his azz fer ruining Key West the way he did, some of us blame him still.
Capt. Tony must have been the role model/mentor of my good friend who lived in the Keys for years. I won't say his name, but he was a real character, having spent some time in a Mexican jail (guns, supposedly that time) but was also allegedly involved in some other shenanigans, some say weed, of course I wouldn't PERSONALLY know. But my friend lived in the upper Keys, had a boat (of course) and even adopted a lorikeet in his later years. (A real pirate, of course) We had some great party times. He passed some years ago, but HE'S the one I always think of when I hear "A Pirate Looks at Forty". And I still can manage a smile😄
Thank you for sharing your story! The Keys were full of sketchy characters and its part of what made that island and those times so special.
I actually knew captain tony in the 70s. Going to one of his parties. I hope to have my wedding dance with my debbie there.
Rick - thank you for watching. Captain Tony was a truly unique and memorable guy - he is a KW legend. Be sure to check out my other vlogs and subscribe as I will have more JB material coming soon. Make sure you get that dance with Debbie! Fins up!

Thank you,🌴 excellent story video.. I used to hitch rides down to Key West back in the early 70s before it became a tourist haven... Spike Sousa, artist🎨, Old Naples Fl.🌴 unfortunately now, a tourist trap as well...
Thank you for watching Henry and the kind words. Yes, they are all becoming tourist traps unfortunately. But like the saying goes: there's still a little magic left in that tourist town.

Great story. Maybe you could tell the story about the hanging tree in Captain Tony's sometime?
Thank you for watching and the kind words Brenda! In my KW Top 10 Part 2 vlog I briefly mention the hanging tree while in the bar. It is a great suggestion to do additional vlogs on those neat little oddities of Captain Tony's Saloon.
You are doing a great job.
Thank you for the kind words! I will have more JB related content coming soon. Please subscribe and share with others.
Subtitles would be awesome, if you can decipher all of it.
Could someone repeat what he said? I couldn't hear most of it with all the background noise.
Can’t here enough to under it
I wonder if Capt Tony and David Wolkowsky were good friends. I would have to think they were?
JB and Wolkowsky were good friends. There friendship began in the very early 70s at the Chart Room. Wolkowsky owned the Pier House and took great interest in Jimmy and his crew. Wolkowsky owned the building at 500 Duval that is now the KW Margaritville. Wolkowsky kept an apartment above the restaurant until his death. There is a semi recent picture of the two of them together - its on the Google.
Thank you for watching and the comments!
And every now and then a Key West shrimper would actually bring in a load of SHRIMP!😂
John that must have been awesome! I wish I was there in those days - Fins up friend!
I once made a delivery to his Palm Beach home. The yard was f ull of surfboards and fishing poles. He really loved the ocean.
