Yeah keycaps matter for the sound quite a bit, from the materials used to make it to the profiles and the thickness of it.. Shorter profiles, like cherry and XDA will sound sharper and lighter than taller and wider profiles, like MDA and SA. Plastic will sound less full than aluminum and metal. Thin keycaps (.9mm to 1.3mm) will sound more hollow than thicker (1.5mm+) keycaps.

@@keebtunes Do you happen to know if the insides of the MAX (TFT screen) version has the exact same padding and sound dampening / gasket etc as the previous (PRO) verison?

I don't know that for sure since I don't own the pro, but I think it would be the same since it didn't make changes to the screen within the series

I think most toggle switches are like that, not necessarily flimsy but have some wiggle so that it's not too tight to move. But overall, these toggles are kind of flimsy, I remember accidentally breaking one off a while back when opening the case, so it's possible. As for the keycaps....agreed!

First and foremost, thank you so much for your support!! And yea, it's around middle of the road for deep, and I ended up lubing the keychron red switches that it came with and it sound sooooo good. The board itself doesn't have too much room for foaming, so you'll want probably a 1/4" foam or some light polyfill, and a layer of tape maybe, and it'll sound incredible.

@@keebtunes Alright, thanks! I'm also really bummed out about the fact they only sell the Q-series in Shell White, so I'll probably end up spraying painting the case to fit my setup. Seems like a good starting point though. I think I'll go for it!

Of course! I've recently put the metal keycaps on it, and it's still smudgy but once you have it plopped down at your desk, there's not much moving it around, and you wouldn't be touching all over it either. I will post a picture of the keyboard with the metal keycaps!
