I'm just a regular guy who decided to start a youtube channel, mainly because I needed a new hobby!! On my channel you could see a video about virtually anything, from fun with my family, stupid short films, to reviews of almost any tech item, and anything in between. I love playing with new tech items, but I'm no expert so maybe we can learn together!!
CREATE something (even though it may suck)
I'm trying to get some cools shots, but nothing turned out like I thought it would.

Light Weight Full Frame?? Things to consider!
Thanks for sharing! It's helpful for many
In a former life I sold high grade watches and jewelry and taking pics sucked! We ended up eventually getting a ridiculously expensive light box and even then it was tough. You live and you learn.
it was harder than I was expecting for sure.
Very nice open and simple talk.
I recently came across your youtube channel and was impressed by the quality of your content. However, after conducting a comprehensive analysis, I noticed there is room for improvement for your youtube channel for getting more visitors and subscribers. • Your Thumbnail needs to be more eye-catchy • Your Video Title, Description needs to be improved • You need to use more relevant tags and keywords Do you want to improve your channel?
I noticed that your channel getting an average views, although your subscriber is 445. It is all due to lack of editing and presentation( thumbnail) If you are interested,I can work with you to grow your channel
Interesting! How does it compare to GoPro & is it waterproof? So much new tech, it's almost overwhelming! :)
the smaller camera part is waterproof but the bigger piece is not..Gopro is still good camera although people like to hate on them
@@hasenmyer Gopro is my only point of reference - had the 5,6,7,8,9 & 10 & they all had glitches & quirks but pretty tough & affordable. :)
I have a shelf of action cams and these days my go to cams are the DJI Pocket 3 and Action 4. And with those I’m done buying action cams!
LOL..I always say I'm done but it never happens.
I have my Canon rebel film some where... lol I'd definitely have to watch how to remove/change film. Stone ages.
Shooting film is slow but FUN
How do you develop and scan films? Do you use online stores, local stores, or do by yourself?
@@shiragoose Walgreens..they send them to Fuji for development
I purchased an A7CR last year and the camera shop got a used A7RV a week later for the same price. They let me return it for the V even exchange, but I really do miss the small form factor of the A7CR. I love the V but, the CR is so good at that size.
It’s a toss up really I have and use both
It's good that you're paying attention to your body/mind and self-correcting. Just like with our photography . . . we can be our own worst critics.
Fantastic result! That week after week plateau can be brutal, but look at the smile on your face now! Can't wait for the rollercoaster video & congrats on needing new pants! :)
I do omad and I also do 3-4 day fast when I'm on tiz I also do 5 day egg fast. Sometimes you have to trick your body so those # to come down. Keep up the good job. I lost over 100lbs in 8 months so the meds work just stay focus.
After posting daily for over 2 years and having over 800 videos, i realized that I have zero desire to do brand deal videos. For awhile I got asked daily to review gear/software and I've only done one review video and it was one too many. Doing that video completely took the fun out of it. As I've said hundreds of times, I'm just documenting my life and if people want to watch my idiocy then great . . . if not, then also great.
1000%, plus I'm finding it harder to watch the "gear" channels. I looked back I haven't done a camera "review" in over a year..so I guess "reviews" don't interest me much anyhow.
Haha, went fishing yesterday in my tiny kayak, shot the intro & never saw or caught a damn thing! The whole views thing is confounding - a one take, zero effort offering gets 10,000 hits and a video I put hours of work into gets 72!! I'm 69, I would love to see you do tutorial videos on very basic YT topics - how to put music on, put peoples comments on the screen, best basic editor and how to use, how to make shorts from regular content etc - lots of retirees out there struggling with the very basics! Finally, build a community, be a friend - watch and comment on other tiny channels - engage, encourage and advise, because I think happiness and fulfillment ultimately comes from serving others... just my 2c worth! :)
hours and hours of fishing footage and about 3-4 fish caught on tape..LOL
@@hasenmyer Haha, very rarely I catch 3 or 4 fish! But, beats sitting in front of the TV... :)
If you want to grow your channel, it requires the same focus and attention as growing any business - strategy, budget, time, etc. Gear/product launch videos are getting stale and I think most people would agree. However, the long term 6-month use videos are VERY popular and actually useful because most people don't run out to buy the new shiny thing on release day. My most successful videos are the ones that I have been most passionate about - happy, sad, angry - you name it! The other videos doing really well are any type of tutorial. If you are struggling with something, chances are someone else it to - which would make a GREAT video topic! Lastly, thumbnails and titles make a HUGE difference on YT. I don't spend nearly as much time on that stuff as I should. At the end of the day, it's not about growing your channel if it's just for fun. As long as you can look back on prior videos and laugh, it's all good!
Great comment & there's the rub - treat it like a business and only produce content that will get maximum views and the fun element tends to go out of the window! I'm 69, and using a once drowned Gopro 10 (left the door open surfing!) a coffee drowned laptop held together with duct tape & an almost farcical lack of computer skills & I have so much fun & have made a lot of friends! :)
thanks for the thoughtful comments and your right. I see people with 70-80k subs get less than 5K views on launch videos. I'm wondering how long the whole thing is going to hold, are companies going to be willing to pay long term for videos with low viewer counts? How much is 2-3k views worth to a company...IDK.You are also correct in treating it like a business, unfortunately I'm much too busy to take things beyond my current levels of commitment. Also I can't stand the thought of writing an actual script for each and every video. So for now just I'm going to keep on trucking along and having fun!
Wow, 80lbs is amazing - I'm down 44 & can really feel the difference! Don't give up on golf! Your back problems are probably caused or exacerbated by an exercise you're doing at the gym plus carrying all that weight. For me, the fix was riding an electric skateboard - the constant twisting and carving side to side strengthened my back, legs and core & it's great fun! Another potential solution is rebounding - very gentle and almost effortless but huge benefits - NASA used these to regrow muscle and bone in returning astronauts! I've just bought one & in one 20 min session of the gentlest bouncing, my knee injury dramatically improved! :)
I'll probably pick it golf back later, it's so good for you physically and also the social aspects of it. Your comment reminds me that I have officially lost enough weight to safely ride a one wheel.
@@hasenmyer Haha, no one rides safely on a one wheel!!
I subscribed to your channel. I tend to watch the flashy channels with tens of thousand viewers and subs. Who cares. Your niche is who you are. You're a middle of the road guy that has a simple message expressed through the filter called you. I love it. Stay the way you are. I'm sorry you are so fixated on growth but yea, I get the monetary thing. What ever you do I'll watch because of your refreshing simplicity.
I appreciate it..TBH the thought of only doing product reviews, scripting every word, and doing the same basic video over and over sounds TERRIBLE! Thanks for watching
Some people try to get more interaction, they ask a question during the video, and say type 1 if you agree with XYZ, in hopes people say more? ( Example economic ninja channel). A lot of these other successful UA-camrs are on the spectrum- autistic/OCD types, so That's how they have all this hyper energy.
I could probably do more to get more interaction, but I'm just having some fun. I don't want to BS my audience either.
Catchy thumbnail, maybe a fakish catchy title, "I almost died!! weight loss journey". Which is true.. then do before/after video.. you might have died without losing weight
Maybe "I'm quitting UA-cam" would have been a better title.. that might be buried in the algo these days..
@@z352kdaf8324 I'm not quitting for sure. don't want to do strictly "weight loss" b/c I don't want to come off as an expert..I'm FAR from it. Just thinking out loud a little.
Well done review. Thanks for sharing
We're our own worst critics! I don't think the pics looked nearly as bad as you think they looked but I certainly understand what you're saying.
It was just really that one particular photo, which is even darker than what my video showed. All the other ones turned out pretty good. Your right though, I’m going to be my worst critic no doubt it
Yeah, ink is different and not backlit. I printed up some photos at cvs years ago and saw it too. Maybe print out some 4x6s for cheap. Colors are definitely muted and not a vibrant.
@@z352kdaf8324 I was expecting the colors to be a little wonky b/c it’s not exactly high level printing, but was surprised the exposure was off so much
Also I was using two different monitors to edit the photos, which in hindsight was the dumbest thing I could have done.
You wouldn't feel so guilty if you could swap another battery into your phone. At least that's my guilt excuse.
good point!
The crossbars can be removed. It’s the roof rails that are permanent. If she doesn’t plan to use the rack, I’d just take them off. Very productive day indeed!
Thanks for watching that far into video! If it were me I’d have taken them off immediately, but my daughter likes the way they look. She’ll probably just turn the radio up..LOL
Helluva productive day!

You can retrieve the leader from inside the canister. There is a tool commercially available as well as informal techniques.
thanks for the info, I'll give it a shot.
You are an inspiration to many! I appreciate the true struggles. I hope all your consistency with diet pays off as a permanent habit! So happy to hear your fitness at the gym is becoming a habit!
I appreciate it!
I appreciate that you are not an expert! I was searching for real people giving real experiences and all i could find were doctors and journalists. The first and now this video are exactly what i was hoping to find. I am actually pretty excited to go back and learn some photography after looking through your channel. Bonus! I have struggled with heartburn for years, so when I eat out now, I avoid anything fried, which hurts a little, but I get to eat a lot less calories as a bonus! Saying that, you're still doing an amazing job with losing 2 lb in a week!
Yeah there’s a million videos but hard to find the “real” ones. Thanks for watching
This video was so relatable and helpful to me! Thank you so much for sharing your journey. Congratulations on the achievements you've had so far and I wish you continued success. I would love to see an update!
I’m glad you enjoyed the video..update coming soon
OM-1 is one of most beautiful cameras. But that info in finder is sparse, and that ASA-roll is just humor.
I have a Nikon FM2. The thing is that nowadays film rolls and film development/scanning are just too expensive.
Peach ice cream is the best!
TRUTH
Hang in there! You probably are building muscle, which weighs more. But the good news is your metabolism will work better. 😊
I really resonated with a lot of what you said. I, too, obsessed over what I was going to eat. My weight yo yo’d through out my life. Even when I was at a good weight I thought about food constantly. I’m on day 5 of taking an oral drug , SUBSEMA, under the tongue). I am trying to get in 100 grams of protein everyday. So far so good! Also, I’m on a very low dose.
I’m sure you will do great!
Sensor dust from stopping down at @00:27.. oops.. the opening video was great- nice and colorful and sharp and detailed. I some how manage to mess up fireworks. Yours look great. The second half, I didn't get that feeling of high quality sharp colorful video. Maybe it was the sky being more of a problem.
good eye on the dust...didn't even notice it. I got lucky on the fireworks. It was cloudy and going in and out of shad probably had something to do with the video quality.
This was an AWESOME video!! Thanks for bringing us along on your trip. I agree about Sony APS-C getting stupid good right now. I have been using the 16-55 / 70-350 combo on my A7RV and am LOVING the results. Since you have essentially the same camera in A7CR, you'd probably feel the same way. The video quality on the A7RV is actually the best in APS-C mode. The only caveat is that it's capped at 4K/30p. However, if you manually turn off crop mode on your camera, you can still shoot with APS-C lens and then crop another 0.2 further in post to get similar framing and nearly as good results. If I was in your situation, I'd choose one or the other 16-35 vs 24-70 - wouldn't make sense to keep both unless you are using them a ton.
Thanks! I figure I have about a year, where FF will be ideal for photo (unless I start getting more paid jobs), but after that APSC would make more sense. Even now I"m enjoying shooting video on it more and more...this video (talking head portion) shot on 11mm 1.8 and I think it looks pretty good. That's a good point about cropping in a little in 4k60 I'll have to give that a look, thanks for the tip.
Isn't it just maddening?! I can run around like a chicken without a head all week just grazing on fruit/vegetables/etc. and gain 3lbs. . . . then just eat fast food garbage and sit in my office every day for hours and end up losing 2lbs. I just try to be reasonable these days or I'll go insane(r).
LOL maddening is right! I guess I'll just chipping away at it, sooner or later I"m going to see that scale start to go down again. Either way I don't feel like passing out by going up a flight of stairs..which is nice
Lookin' good, man! I agree with @randumbtech. Sometimes the weight loss lags. I do think you need to take breaks from the journey to let your body catch up. Not anything where you go crazy, but a week every 3-4 months is good for you. I recently went on a cruise and was trying to lose 10lbs before hand and I ended up procrastinating and trying to lose it in a month. For me, this was about 200 to 190. I actually made it, but I wore my body clean out and ended up getting Covid on the cruise. So yeah. Don't overdo things, especially when you're over 40. I ended up gaining about 5lbs on the cruise week and then the week after with Covid and not being able to exercise.
congrats on hitting your goal, 10lbs is HUGE! Hope you had fun on your cruise, I've always been hesitant to go on one.
@@hasenmyer Thanks Adam. I started cruising in 2009 and I've loved it ever since, however the more popular cruising gets, the more packed the ships get. I'm just about to release my latest cruise video. We got upgraded to a suite so the suite tour video is out.
I'm guessing it's because you hit the gym so hard for the two weeks prior to vacation, your metabolism was sped up. It'll stay that way for a few days (possibly a week) but eventually will slow down again with inactivity. I'd say the only concern as an outside observer is that the meds didn't seem to curb your appetite. If it was effective, you wouldn't feel the urge to eat regardless of whether you are on vacation or not. Is it possible your body has built up a tolerance to it? Take what I say with a HUGE grain of salt - I'm not a doctor, and I don't even play one on YT. 😉🤣 Glad you had fun with the fam on vacation - can't wait to see some pics/video!
yes a tolerance has definitely built up, 5mg is not nearly as effective but it's all I could get at the time. It suppresses appetite for about 3 days instead of 7, but I still don't have the urge to snack (which is nice)..oh well back to the grind. Currently wrapping my head around how to present the cool stuff we did, along with the gear, but I'll get to it.
Why you put the stabilizier OFF at 18-55? The real results you get in Combination. 16-80 hat stabilizing + too. But the 18-55 weights the half, so its the most interessting stabilized video-objektiv + stabilizing of the camera. And its the only one where you can zoom while zooming and the focus stays.... Fuji stabilizer is not made for walking, its mostly to film out of your hand without tripod. If you need something to walk then you need a system which i just in your hand = physics. a tripod or gimbal. Because like you test it it, you connected to your walk, to your body. And its your body say walking, so you see walking.
Good job Adam. That's what I thought when my Doctor suggested I try Zepbound. I'm on compounding Zepbound only two days ago. Food noise is not there. My Doctor gave me hope...as you said. Hope is amazing.
Thanks for watching! I'm sure you will do great
Most dysfunctional impractical camera bag I have ever bought. And that after watching so many UA-camr tout it as the best they ever had! Only for me to find out it's all lies. Even in your intro, the bag forces you to limit what you bring, which you still try to spin a positive note. Just don't. It's a bad design call it as it is.
Wishing you the best 😅
I appreciate it, I need all the help I can get!
@@hasenmyer I appreciate your level of introspection & openness about your journey. I have many more videos to watch to get caught up! You look like it’s working in your before/after side by side in the beginning of this video!
