Halo Flashpoint Board Game - Round Table Review 日本語字幕付き
Watchwolf Games and friends from A Fistful of Dice in Southsea, UK assemble to test and play Halo Flashpoint Recon Edition from Mantic Games. 日本語字幕付き
We dissect all the game's components in a round table discussion covering the playmat, scenery, cards, dice, miniatures and rulebook.
Then we turn our attention to the gameplay itself, covering Cube movement, the dice system, cover modifiers and so on. And finally, we get a summary from each of the participants, Latch, Dean and Ben.
Special thanks to A Fistful of Dice, in Southsea, UK. They're an independent gaming shop with a very wide selection of stock, from traditional board games, through all the current and popular TCGs, and supporting several tabletop miniatures systems.
They also have my old WH40k Eldar miniatures for sale, so please go there and buy them, thanks!

We take a look at Halo: Flashpoint - Mantic's application of their Deadzone Game Engine to simplify movement and measuring and bring tabletop gaming and the Halo universe to the rest of us. To me, this is one of the most exciting games of the year because whilst Tabletop wargames are always going to be the most immersive gaming experience they come with the heavy overhead of long hours building...

An unexpectedly successful Demons build that counters Naga's access to Divine Shield and Venomous. It combines the best Greater and Lesser Trinkets, the usual suspects for the demons plus ideal support from Drakkari Enchanter and Cultist S'Thara and the unusual addition of Sun Screener.

Tokyo Game Market: Wonder Backers/Skygames
First time seeing my 3d printed boards in a vid, (the ones with round slots for models), cheered me up and made me smile
I think I got the picture from Mantic's Facebook page, so thanks for sharing it. If you have a website or contact info for 3D printing I can put it is the Description for you. What was the Nottingham event like?
Thanks for the preview! I picked this up last week from Yellow Submarine and looking forward to giving it a try.
I was just here last week for the Tokyo Auto Salon. Cars is one of my other hobbies. Makuhari Messe is HUGE!
I just picked this at Yellow Submarine in Akihabara last week. Looking forward to giving this a try with my gaming group.
Great video! Thanks for posting it. I hope you continue forward with this one and do a battle report at some point. Don't get discouraged by redditors. They are always contrarian even in their own subs.
I admit I'm frequently dismayed by negative responses I really appreciate the encouragement, thank you. Yes, we've already done the production of a review with experienced wargamers, and once I've got feedback from a range of gamers I'll be able to do some in-depth videos and bat-reps. Thanks again!
The gent in the hat is talking over the other guy so freaking much I can’t follow… I’m only 10 mins in so ima keep trying but honestly I’m not getting much from this since I can’t hear what’s being said
I love your honesty and style, brilliant review!
He turned left!
I’d never buy some cheap ass knockoff free skates if I’m invest into something I’m pay the extra money
Well, that would’ve been exactly the tone of the follow-up had they not orchestrated a series of tragic, whining and generally bullshit messages about what a bad person I am for showing a competitor’s product! It’s a shame because we already had footage of World skateboard Freestyle Champion Isamu Yamamoto, whose really rather good on free skates, I can tell you. Do please tell JMK Ride I said so.
that's the one I was awaiting !
We’ve got the focus-pulls and the punch-ins now, but we just cant get the quality of presenters we used to have. 😉
@StudioWatchwolf all presenters are charming, good job !
We hope we raised the bar with our contrasting presenters: Ukrainian/Chinese-American; newcomer/professional.
I met Ronnie at the Walking Dead Relauch Day and he was a really nice guy and more than happy to share his passion of gaming. He might have even told us some things about Halo Flashpoint before release 👀 Nice guy and a great company.
So now Halo is out, did Ronnie’s hints prove true?
@StudioWatchwolf oh yes and then some!
@@thehobbydeskwithrob So should I be looking to get hold of a copy, then? I mean, as a priority before buying more KoW mini.s to the same value.
@@StudioWatchwolf I'd reccomend it if you like fast skirmish games. I've not picked a copy up myself yet but I have played a friend's coy a few times now and it's pretty good!
@@thehobbydeskwithrob I'm planning a visit to Mantic HQ in Nottingham over December; sounds like you might be in the North-West, La? ;-)
Great rules explanation. Thank you!
That’s the first games video we made, using just one smartphone camera and two shots for each scene, it was very tightly scripted and took over a week to make! I’m very glad you liked it. 😃

Just order a two player starter set containing Abyssal Dwarfs. The reason I went for them is because I really want a fantasy setting but in the era of Napoleonic style battles. I think Abyssal Dwarfs will allow me to play this way. Troops of Decimators in front, Hordes of Decimators behind, supported by artillery in the back. Slave cav on the wings with heavy cav held in reserve. We’ll see how it goes but I think I’ll get a kick out of playing it.
As soon as company’s demand you use their range of minis is when I tend to no longer bother with the game hence I never moved past Warhammer 2nd edition which is still fun to play
People have replied to this video saying “NO! That was ten years ago! You must use Mantic mini.s now, or else.” But I met up with the Great Ronnie (as anyone easily can by simply visiting the place) and he was remarkably chilled about the whole thing. And I think he worked for GW around 2nd edition so you could probably get an authentic game out of him!
Such an easy game to play, kinda wish the models were better but as its model agnostic it's a minor complaint.
No, I hear you. Im myself Painting up GW Saurus for a Salamanders army and it feels like a betrayal, but they are better than Mantic’s older mini.s
Great review, thank you.
Thanks for watching! Im planning a follow up
Just stumbled across your channel. Great content... instant subscribe!
Thanks for the encouragement! I (Lachlan) have a problem that my partners in crime are both abroad and that Studio Watchwolf’s studio hasn’t been available since the business moved, so i have no place to film and no-one to film with unfortunately. But I keep trying fix these things and will make more content whenever I can, thanks again.
You take lessons from jmk guys then go on to by some cheap Chinese knock offs to save 100 bucks???? Really??? Shame on you. Support the og's not the thieving Chingers.
