    The inner cutters are for stranded wire, which tended to bind in the main cutters for me. I used them to great effect on semi trailer cable seals if they weren't zipped down so far I can't get a handle in it. Bicycle brake cable works well as well, if you ever need to replace your lines like I did.

  • @Blackhawk556.
    @Blackhawk556. Місяць тому

    Those lines on the top right of the reticle, what exactly are they for???

    • @redhawkvalley
      @redhawkvalley Місяць тому

      Those are for estimating distance. If you have a target that is around 5'10" tall, you place the bottom of said target on the horizontal line and the whichever line the top of the target is near, that is your distance in yards. The top line is the closer distance, I believe 400 yards, then the lower lines are progressively in 100 yards increments to 1000 yards. You then use the holdover for each of those distances out to 1000 yards without having to dial anything in.

I sprayed some gas into the carb throttle and it started right up so i oredered a new carb I may clean the original one and store for next time. Great video. I may remove it and change plug as well. Great job.

    • @redhawkvalley
      @redhawkvalley Місяць тому

      I used the old gas to start a fire. Lol. You could siphon the gas out of you have one of those. Mine drained way too slow through the fuel line. There is a gas turnoff so you don't need to drain the gas to change the carb, but it's a good idea. Hope the new carb works for you!

    Just undertaken the same job of removing the rear wheel on my 2000 year GL1500 SE. I encountered the same issue that you had with the splined coupling not freeing off with the wheel. I assume it was the ‘stiction’ of the grease that was holding it in place. It took me a while to work out as to why I could not remove the wheel as it was catching on the drive pins that protrude out from the coupling. It took a bit of doing but eventually I managed to slide the pins into the wheel and this enabled me to remove the wheel from the bike. My tyre choice for the bike was an Avon Cobra Chrome, I also will be fitting a matching Avon tyre to the front wheel as both tyres are old and have numerous cracks on the sidewalls. Regards from Nottingham U.K.

    If the gun is in decent shape you can load smokeless rounds to the same pressure as BP and it's fine(we are taking cartridge guns from the late 1800's, don't ask my about anything not made from steel). The issues arise when people use guns in questionable shape or try to match CUP rating instead of psi which, although correlated with eachother, measure average pressure vs peak pressure so isn't the greatest metric to go by. Basically you can use fast powder at reduced velocity to get the same pressure as bp eg bullseye, or you can use slow or very slow pistol powders to get more power and at bp pressure eg unique and especially alliant 2400 which in my opinion is too slow to burn efficiently at 6-8000 psi so half the powder will shoot out the end and you will have inconstant velocities. I prefer relatively slow pistol powders like vhitavori 330 or 340 which burn cleaner than unique but are as slow or slower and are nice and low in pressure on my load calculator, also they fill a lot of the case so you can't double charge them.

    I don't think catastrophic failures are what will happen with smokeless, more like they just get loose to the point they don't function. My guess is what really kills these top break .32's is dopes putting .32 ACP in them because it's the cheaper, most common .32 and it's way over pressure. Smokeless .32 S&W in the non smokeless top breaks seems to be fine for limited and infrequent use.

    • @Sanguivore
      @Sanguivore 2 місяці тому

      I watched a video not too long ago where someone said putting .32 ACP in their topbreak .32S&W did indeed make it nonfunctional and they currently have to repair it. (They admitted it was a 'young and dumb' mistake.)

    i have a dinosaur of a saw . an old 70's era Stihl 08. i learned to cut on this saw and would love to get it working again. unfortunately i was told years ago that the parts i need are extinct. or harder than rats teeth to find. I'm not good with small engines myself and would like some advice

    • @redhawkvalley
      @redhawkvalley 3 місяці тому

      It would be great to get a nice vintage saw like that, especially one with intrinsic value, cutting again. Does the engine turn over freely? If so I would start with a compression and spark test. If those are good then it's a fuel problem and I see carbs for that model for less than $30 on eBay. If the fuel lines are in good shape and with a new carb it should come back to life. I wish I had one of those models to create a video on, but unfortunately I don't. Even if the engine has low compression it's still only $30 for a new complete Chinese upper rebuild kit. You can do it!

    Wanted to thank you very much for this video because it helped me to fix my heater which was similar to yours. I ordered the same switch from Amazon and it fit like a glove. One thing that you might want to know for future reference is that on top of the panel where the switches are in the recessed area there is a large screw which if you remove it you can take the whole panel off and get access to the wiring that way. If anything I was able to remove some dust and debris that was inside of the panel and also to use WD-40 to pull off the Spade lugs easier. It also helped me to remove the old switch easier. Thanks again.

      I think it's the same as the 8560, with some minor differences. The reasons I bought the 580 (mark II) instead of the Redmax 8550 are the straps are more padded and the chest strap, which makes the Husqvarna much more comfortable to use for long periods of time.
