Hi Paul Karel here I never thought of using the splattering technique in so many different ways. I used to use a toothbrush . I've seen people protect parts of painting with paper towel for those not as experience as yourself. I have to go practice now. Bye
Thanks Karel, yes, towel works great, good luck
What sort of paper do you use for this? I tried this but the paper towel doesn't blot up hardly any of the colour, I'm thinking I maybe have the wrong sort of paper? Thanks for the video!
Hello Abigail, just cold press, plenty of water, bounty towels, thank you for watching
This was great! Love that green - so effective in making a wooded hillside. I can hardly wait to try this painting😊
Great, I hope it helps. Thank you for watching peldridge
Really pretty question did you add the sky where in the web?
Hi Kelly, could you ask the question another way? Not sure what you mean?
Looks like a lovely place to walk and capture in a painting. Thanks for sharing your painting process. Very helpful.
Glad you liked it, hope it helps your painting. Thank you for watching MB
I like the sky :)
Thank you G, and thank you for watching
WOW!!!
hope you liked, give it a try and thank you for watching nitika
@@Easy-Watercolor I tried with one black color, and I like it.
Thanks so much, absolutely loved it.
Thanks again
Love it, I will be throwing paint this week. Do you have your paper at an angle? Thanks and beautiful as always!
ALWAYS have an incline, use gravity. Thanks for watching megperry
I like to see the picture you’re painting while you’re painting it.
Thanks jo, I always try, just got a little crowded in this one. Thank you for watching
So beautiful. Learned so much. Thank you.
My pleasure huan, hope it helps your painting, thanks again for watching.
Spattering!
Yes, spattering, hope it helps. Thank you for watching masulliv55
Thank you for sharing. Love it!
Hope it helps your painting Nancy, thank you for watching
Hi Paul thanks for sharing your talent here! I loved the idea of lifting cerulean blue off the paper to make clouds. I found my blue sinks into the paper so fast I cant quite lift it in time so never get a clean white edge. Is it A) my non Windsor paints, B) the paper, or C) that Im painting wet into wet and shouldn't be. Any thoughts, much appreciated. 🙂
Hi Mark, Its so hard to tell why this isn't working without actually seeing it, but your not alone, a few people are ahead of you. I don't use cerulean, but I could, I use cobalt, Winsor or ultra marine. Try wetting your cold press paper first and then adding the color and lifting with a paper towel. Please let me know how you make out. Thank you for watching Mark.
What kind of paper are you using in this video?
Hello nahozhu6800, I think I am using Arches cold press, but you can use any paper and it should work fine. Are you having a problem? Thank you for watching
Did you say your paper towel is wet before starting to wipeout the clouds?
Hi Scootmgoot, no the towel is dry, but wetting it will give you a different effect, thank you for watching
all I can say is BEAUTIFUL!! I love the colors you use and what they do in combination!
Thanks Diane, hope this all helps and thank you for watching
wow, that combo of raw sienna, cobalt blue and rose is OUTSTANDING. Question is the rose a quin rose? . I don't think I've seen a watercolor that is just rose. Also what brands of wc's are these? thank you so much for this video.I've subscribed!!
Hey thanks Diane, I use all Winsor Newton except the Daniel Smith Quinacridone colors Rose,Sienna and Gold and Cobalt Blue Teal which I buy from Blick Thank you so much for watching

I’m having trouble with my skies. When I began as an amateur I did good ones, im still an amateur but now I don’t know, my washes have streaks, I’m not sure if I’m using the right amount of paint and water or the right amount of water on my paper. I have to practice but I’m using Arches paper which isn’t cheap. Advice?
Hello Ryan, difficult to advise without seeing your problem. Be sure to mix the paint and water thoroughly and catch the bead of each stroke, should do it. Also be sure to practice on both sides of your paper. Good luck
@@Easy-Watercolor Thanks

Beautiful! Thank you❤
Glad you enjoyed it kerrieshin, thank you for watching
I enjoy your videos so much. Thank you for posting! Your raw sienna is, or seems, much more vibrant, yellower, than mine is! Is it Winsor & Newton?
Yes Winsor Newton has a Raw Sienna that is lighter and mixes beautifully. One of my favorites, thanks for watching stargazerlulu
@@Easy-Watercolor thank you for your response!
Great clouds - but I've never seen sky where it gets darker blue the *lower* it is.
Hey Monty, not really sure what you mean, you are right the sky is almost always darker at the top, but this was about clouds. Thank you for watching Monty.
Excellent.
Many thanks Milton, hope it helps, thanks for watching
These beautiful, beautiful shadows... Thank you Paul! At the end - the 'imagined' ocean horizon line in the bright phthalo blue... and the depth creating schooner - it lifts the painting in a whole different category! The magic of art: the painting is so much more beautiful, than the photo!
Thank you Noreen’s, hope it helps your paintings, thank you for watching
Oh, Paul, isn't the world just beautiful?! And you are able to catch all this in your paintings. I was so drawn to this one, can really see the most colourful winter, feel the freezing air which makes my breath steam and the bright, crisp, not yet warming sunlight in the morning. I always admire the thoughtful, sophisticated simplicity of your works. You said, you want to finish the tree in the foreground later, so I can't say so much about this one, but the tree in the background triggers strong feelings of trueness in me. This tree (plus the shadows around) has personality, it feels like I remember 'this friend', like one of the gnarled old trees I live with, here in the German countryside... This tree expresses for me a very special quality: it is not perfectly groomed, dressed up - instead it has the beauty of simply 'being'. So charming! The same with your 'imagined' house (left side). Every single object (distinguishable form) in your paintings seems to be cherished. I have seen you use these kind of halo-effects (the bushes) often, a genuine phrase of yours? There is of course so much more. All of this makes for me the difference, which makes the difference... I apprechiate so much that you put your process into public! I have the impression you think entirely in contrasts (...but let them serve the mood of the painting). Is that right? Do you still have to think about these technical aspects, which (of the many possible contrasts) you want to choose and combine in a specific painting? It's mastery: you put them together so elegantly, always as simple as possible - never to much - only pure 'necessity'. Beautiful, beautiful painting... Thank you so much Paul! Wish you the best! 👋 Morwen
Again Morten, thank you for watching and your wonderful insight into my work
Hi Paul, I’m new to watching your videos and they are spot on! They’re helping me so much in painting some of the reference pics I took when on vacation at the beautiful Bruce Peninsula, overlooking the turquoise waters from the rugged shores of Georgian Bay, Canada 🍁
