This might be an off wall question: regarding the green tomatoes (I believe romas), can we pick them while green to let them ripen in the house? I’ve picked them at the first sight of blushing to let them ripen in the house. If so, I’m def doing your method for sure
I usually let my tomatoes thaw a bit on the counter and the peels easy come away. No need to put them in hot water! I love your videos Natasha, thank you for sharing your processes and knowledge!!
Try Poinsett 76 cakes. They did really well for me here in Texas last year. And it was one of the hottest years on record.
Cukes
What a great idea. Maybe you can use the rest of that squash in muffins
We appreciate you Natasha, thank you for sharing.
Look forward to all your videos! Question: I’m looking to snag some cheaper seeds now for next year. Is there any melon that’s resistant to SVB?
Beautiful
❤
💚
I love your videos. Love your gardens. you're so busy and you're such a good mom why don't you go to Costco and get one of those big pools a 20 by 40 pool for you and your children after you work so hard in the garden you could go get in the pool and play with your kids and relax cuz you work so hard you need the joy of a swimming pool for yourself and your family
Seth and I read this and chuckled a bit because we have been discussing this very idea! We have been trying to figure out where it could go (space-wise) and are discussing putting it in the perennial garden, enclosing it in stone pavers, and growing larger perennial plants the area around in. Turning it into a perennial mini pool jungle 😂 it’s hard to explain, but I love your comment and think it’s a fantastic idea ❤️
My Aji Charapita peppers are about to bloom it looks like. I had ordered some multiplying onions from Hoss and I only ordered a few of them to see how they would do in Wisconsin. They produced really well and they taste really really good. Thank you for the video. God bless you and your family. Duane
I'm excited for you! I haven't been in the garden for a couple of days and I'm itching to go out and check to see if mine have bloomed now! 🤞 keep me updated! God bless you as well Duane!
❤

How do you keep the seeds/flowers from cross pollinating when saving the seeds?
I don't overly stress about it truthfully. If I'm really wanting to ensure no cross-pollination I will cover a blossom of a tomato variety or pepper variety with a mesh bag before it blooms to ensure it self-pollinated. I also try to plant in sections and seed save from the plant in the middle of the section. I haven't had much cross-pollination and each time it has occurred it's been a fantastic hybrid!
@@ShepherdingPeppersFarm thanks for your explanation! I’ve been avoiding saving seeds for that reason. My garden is 600 square feet which is large but no where near yours! And all my plants are intermingled. The seeds are really only for my family so I guess it’s not a huge concern if they aren’t pure. Thanks :)
Yayyyy so happy about this video! Thank you 🥰
You are so welcome! ❤️
Onions will rot your potatoes and should not be stored near each other. 😊
Thanks for the tip! I haven't found it to occur much in our house but I'll keep it in the back of my mind 😊
I really enjoyed watching this. My garden is so small that my harvests are a handful at a time. It was nice seeing it done on a larger scale.
I'm glad to hear it! I always wonder to myself “Is this worth filming?” and then it's a 50/50 chance you guys will end up seeing it 🤦♀️ Seth says all the time “If you filmed it just share it!” I'm trying to do better about that 💕
I was just looking at food mills to process tomatoes for sauces / Ketchup myself! Not sure I'll have enough romas to justify the purchase this year though. This was absolutely perfect timing for this video. I was just wondering how I was going to save roma seeds. I've never done this part before, so it was extremely helpful. My first romas are sitting on the counter to finish ripening now. 🎉 Thanks again!
I'm really glad I didn't end up getting one truthfully! My juicer has done a killer job preserving the pulp while straining the skins and seeds of my tomatoes, and it's so nice not having to buy a new appliance if it's not needed. I am thrilled you will be making sauce soon and look forward to hearing about it!
@ShepherdingPeppersFarm I loved your bread and butter pickle recipe, so I'll hold off until I see what kind of recipe you have first. And I still don't have enough take anything. I have 5 ripe romas, so I have time to wait. 👍
Allright! The numbers are going up. I’ve shared and shared and you deserve success! 😊
You're the best!
I just found your channel. It melted my heart when you spoke about God doing little things.
Where can I get catmint tea leaves?
It's been a long time since I have bought herbs rather than growing them. I'll check my herbology introduction book reference and see if the older recommendations are still available.
A beautiful centerpiece straight from your garden 💐 excellent job Natasha 👍
Beautiful garden! Keep up the great work ❤
I love that you see and appreciate God's artistry in your beautiful pink zinnia mix. When my kids ask me who my favorite artist is, I always tell them it's God. Those small gifts truly are a blessing. Where do you find your more rare pepper seeds?
I think that's fantastic, and I will probably be borrowing that line from you to share with my little ones in the future 💚 I often find pepper seeds for unique peppers from Baker Creek, or I'll order dehydrated peppers from grocery stores and remove the seeds to save them. The germination rate is lower but I'm yet to not enough germination to grow the pepper variety and be able to save seeds for the future. This is how I got my guajillo peppers, cascabel peppers, aji panca peppers etc.
Wow i love your gardens this is so greenery nice share ❤❤❤lets connet
Hi Natasha, I’m so excited my sugar rush peach peppers are finally ready to harvest. I’m having a hard time locating a video on how you make the hot sauce, can you please help me locate your video and/or recipe?
I'm so excited for you!! This is the video from last year The Spicy Science of Making Hot Sauce ua-cam.com/video/Vftz5ZaKRC8/v-deo.html I'll do another in the near future but it will be going over the same content. Please let me know how it turns out! ❤️
Truth! Knats like to fly into your eyeballs. 😂
Your interest in Farming gardenings .
Heat!! Peppers are unmatched for blood flow amen 😉 ... stawppp I meant.. tho hardened varicose veins u perves lol😊
Really like watching your content. A much smaller gardener here and seeing yours, with the added information you provide is great! I just started Cucuzza this year and it is beautiful, abundant and tasty. Thanks from Oklahoma!
Great respect people to belong to Farming Gardening thanks. Love to Memberships base .
I have spotted bee balm and not the standard kind. Would that work as well or should I find the basic bee balm?
Spotted bee balm is wonderful for nausea and vomiting. I find spotted bee balm (Monarda punctata) to be very interchangeablewith other Monarda (bee balm) varieties.
I totally agree with you on your sentiments and feelings on God doing not only big blessings for us but also the little things. I really enjoyed your card tour. I think it’s really cute that your daughter put beef sticks instead of beef steaks. God bless you and your family. Duane
That looks delicious! Don't listen to the negative people. Your doing a fantastic job! Apperently they were never told "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"
All I can say is Wow!
Another great video! Thank you
I'm currently watching your video for the 4th time. Love the information you provide😊
I adore this ❤️
Amen I think he know what we need when we need it and he knows you needed those pink Zenias
I totally agree!
Loved hearing you talk about the zinnias. ♥️
i garden in metal raised garden beds i am a disabled gardener some i grow from seed some i dont i have to consider the cost energy benefit my csa sells jalepeno and some tomatoes for 2 dollars a 6 pack so if they have it im not growing it from seed. i was also hit by a semi truck so i have to consider a lot of variables
I think its wonderful you are gardening in the way that's best for you!
Shame them squash bugs are back 😭 great technique on how you get rid of them 😅👏👏👏
Loved the tour. Great harvest! 🌸Do you know the variety of single petal zinnia? They are so hard to find. 🌸also as another person suggested can we see specifically how you save seeds? 🌸Do you winter garden?
Burpee Zinnia Forecast is the only variety that springs to mind for single-petal zinnias. I know I showed a bit of seed saving in the video that came out today but I'd like to do another more in-depth video on it. I'm honestly just not sure how many seeds to try to fit into one video! Lol. I do have a winter garden. I'm in the middle of planning out the fall garden now. The winter is hit or miss depending on how bad the freezes are. All the root veggies grow fine, but two years ago the freeze was worse than it had been for 15 years and it killed everything about the soil. I've just accepted it as a gamble now and roll the dice.
❤
I love your humor! I really enjoy watching your longer videos in the morning while I make breakfast. 🍅
Nothing more fulfilling than being grateful for all the were blessed with, big or small. For you, a big enormous harvest. I love your garden and huge variety of plants ❤ thx Natasha
With end of season approaching id love to see how you save seeds and make sure things arent getting cross pollinated, especially the peppers. Also, your recipes are epic. I can def see a garden-based cookbook in your future 😉
Yes!
Yes! I’d love to see your method of seed saving. And do you winter garden?
I love this comment! I showed a little bit of it in the video today but I'm considering do another more in depth video on it, on the peppers and adding in flowers. Can you have to many different plant varieties in one video? 😂 A garden-based cookbook would be a dream.
Lovely video! Please. Please. Please show us a video on how to process vine peaches. And also, how do I know when Prescott melons are ready to harvest?
With the Prescotts they turn orange, like a pumpkin and will be so unbelievably fragrant! Often when you lift the vine up they will fall off, they are lovely melons! I absolutely will be shooting a video on the video peaches soon!
I was looking out the window at the coffee shop then turned back to the video and got the shit scared out of me. I thought that vegetable was a snake at first at the start of your video lol.
😂😂😂
This is amazing 😂
My Alexa is going nuts right now
I used to look at my girls and ask them if they knew what time it was, lol. They would smile because they knew what it meant. It’s dance time!
What’s the actual name of those bigger cayenne peppers?
They are called 'Long Red Thick Cayenne'. Google pulls up good results for the seeds.
I’ve been watching your videos for awhile now and just love all your information! I’m making these as soon as I get the ravioli maker from Amazon! Just ordered it!! Love your new look by the way!👍🏼☺️
Thank you! 🫶🏻 It took me a minute to figure out how to get the ravioli out of the container effectively, lol. A dryer pasta helps them to slide out more easily.
