Real World Tool Reviews
Приєднався 7 вер 2010
On this channel, I hang out in the shop and talk about tools. I love to look for vintage USA made tools, and I frequently go to yard sales and estate sales and make videos showing what I find. I also love to give real life reviews about tools, talking about what I use them for and why I like or dislike them. I’m a regular guy doing this for fun, and if you like tools and hanging out in the shop, this channel is for you!

1/4” set… It is nice - but it has risen in value and now I am flipping it on ebay. 😂 I have lots of 1/4” vintage craftsman so I don’t feel to bad. The style of Craftsman case is called permanex in the community. The $ goes to more vintage Craftsman so don’t hate on me.
Comparisons like this are stupid.
These pliers are good. Their pliers are sharp. I am an Indian and here the pliers of Tata and Taparia company are considered good. Actually their cutters are sharp and strong. I wanted to buy pliers of a German company but their price is very high compared to Indian pliers. It is madness to buy expensive pliers when Indian pliers are of good quality.
I bought a Craftsman 20in/13in combo that has no internal pockets and only 2 or 3 outside webbed pockets. I bought it last year during Christmas sale for $15 for the combo (I bought 2 sets). Pockets are the key. I just bought your review bag after comparing this one with the CLC 1539. Good review.
stud buddy > stud finder
You real good for 50 bucks
Agree, Irwin make great budget tools
I dont care what you say, my kniex pliers wrenches grab like nobody's business, stand on them and that is for the 125mm(yes the 5 inch pair) and up. Do not know what your doing wrong but you are. I edc the 125 cobra AND plier wrench and mostly for daily automotive work and everything else. I respect your opinion even if your experience has been lese then steller. I can see you just like the adjustable wrenches much more, but to say knipex pliers do not work well is just flat out false.
nothing technical, but use expirience ..
Were you at Lineman? We need updates.
I never thought of this but actually the C clamp pliers you can use to carry plastic bags like grocery bags
That shit looks like they use the same plastic as kids toys hahah!!!
You need to get an old reed vise!!!!
That black plastic carry tray with the plumbing tools, etc in it. That was a good deal in my opinion for sure! Alot of useful hand tools in like new shape! Nice haul man! 🤘🏻
I know this video is 2 yrs old but honestly you're comparing apples to oranges. First, clamp meters are AC amp meters. Everything else is a little bonus. Not to mention rink your comparing entry level clamp to top of the line. Compare entry level FP and entry fluke and we'll talk.
What about Knipex lineman pliers ?
I'm a petersen descendant. From Nebraska in the area. We've all been upset that just the original ideas weren't kept in area and going.
The new DeWalt beater flat/Philips set is really nice. Feels good in hand and good length/durability
Enjoyed the video, good context describing your favorite ways to use your favorite tools etc.
Love your channel, brother. Amen to the non-alcoholic beers. Same same. I’m commenting on this random video, just enjoying all your vids and your channel. Keep it up, and thanks for the great content.
You really do have a great channel. If it isn't getting in the way of your life, it would be great to see a new one every once in a while.
I've got 6 or 7 different pairs of the Icon pliers and cutters now and will probably be buying more. I like their pliers more than the cutters, but they're actually really good for the price as well. None of the joints have any slop. All the jaws line up really well, and the steel and grips are holding up extremely well. They're much better than I had expected from them. I have no complaints for right at $20 per pair full price. With the ease of the Harbor Freight warranty, I will not feel bad for a second about using them hard. And I do own other, more expensive brands too. Like Wilde, Engineer, SK USA, Tsunoda, and IPS. The Icons actually can keep up with them so far. Some of the others are just better finished.
The things I have tried from Milwaukee I liked. The beginning of the year I was hired on as a maintenance mechanic at the factory I been in for 19 years. They don't supply your tools. So I started with craftsman and harbor freight. And get this, if I break anything and I mean anything. They replace it with Milwaukee. Soo I guess I kinda lucked out.
I'm a Craftsman collector. I only collect made in USA tools. I love videos on old Craftsman tools. They are a piece of Sears,a piece of history. Those are MY precious metals. Something about USA-made Craftsman tools, they just feel like premium quality. Side note: I noticed that the nut drivers you displayed have pointy 'A's on the Craftsman stamp. I always thought those were counterfeit. Can you share your opinion?
I don't see the 'original' ones. The original ones don't have the "E-Z release'. That came in 1957. (I understand your point, but it's worth noting, as I just got a pair of pre-'57)
I love them but dammit are the expensive and only 2 of the whole lineup are worth it to me long reach 3/8 ratchet and 3/8 impact 14 v toggle trigger for very specific jobs
I wouldn't have thought of using my weeding tool as a pry bar without this video. Now I can use my barn door style bathroom door again. Thank you! Nice collection you have there; I have a similarly-sized collection of spatulas - each with a different use. Wouldn't give or throw away any one them.
Adjustable wrenches are definitely under appreciated . Thanks for sharing!
My 260 is very underwhelming :( 2nd one failed on me today. 2nd one in 4 years in the trade. First one would read 40v on a 120v receptacle that was in face good. 2nd one is now reading "ghost amps" and generating.40-.50 ghost amps when not clamped on. Will be swapping brands or just buying something else brand wise
I simply cannot live without my Knipex needle nose pliers
<3 Snap-On I dont buy off the truck. But I still have all snap-on tools :) Ive got every screwdriver you can imagine by snap-on but they all different colors and style handles. But I dont care as long as I have them.
The adjustment feature on those Speed Grips looks like they copied Irwin’s GrooveLock system.
The one thing that is undeniable that the adjustable wrench is superior to the knipex pliers is when you using a hammer to hit on them. Can't really do it with knipex while holding the bolt, which you can easily do with the adjustable wrench. Plus using a cheater bar seems to favor the adjustable wrench.
I've used adjustable wrenches my whole life. Never had an issue. The pliers wrenches are finnicky, and gimmicky.
Self-defense bigass wrenches
Thank you for this Video bud, I’m a Building and Property maintenance operative and I didn’t know exactly what would be essential and this video has helped me but the right tool kit together for my job thank you!
i usually walk around with the klein back picket leather pouch. In it i carry my klein heavy duty wire stripper , klein tech screwdriver and klein scissor. I was looking for a new pouch because i need to carry additional tools , and i was looking into this pouch. Thank you for posting this , i am ordering it because this pouch meets my current needs!
Hi there. Here in Spain we call this tool (llave inglesa)........english wrench. You need to get and Irimo wrench for your collection. The Irimo system is the most common adjustable wrenches here in Spain Serch for: Llave inglesa Irimo Llave inglesa palmera 👍. Irimo and palmera belongs to snap-on company too
Excellent tool review, appreciate you sharing. PS Colonial Germans/Klein (family owned) VS Fatherland Germans/Knipex (family owned) I'm torn. I think that Knipex would be more comfortable for your wrist using it all day long, but the Klein has a bit more weight too it, which would make it more comfortable cutting with all day long, Klein less easy on your wrist but easier for your fingers and vice versa for the Knipex. Hope this made sense I'm not a native English speaker. All the best.
as a mechanic those square socket is really smart ive used it to take our idler pulley tight space were my ratchet wont fit and combi and double offset wrench cant reach jeez..
Just feel into the real world tool reviews rabbit hole . Glad I did opened my eyes and got me excited about cheap old tools that just work ! Looks like I’m late to the party and I hope you are about to keep putting videos out I think they have a valuable space on UA-cam . As an industrial electrician I’ve been on the hunt for classic linesman , side cutter and needle nose pliers!
Gonzalez Elizabeth Wilson Charles Miller George
That trigger ain’t it for that price lmaoo fuck snap on worst trigger design and any tool that has that trigger type
I hated those dewalts. I used them to break down pumps and stuff for a few months and completely destroyed the flat one. I sold them and just use my snap on chisels now
Nice 👍
thats a whole lotta hammers
Icon can copy the look, but never the quality
A peace of leather works a thousand times better than a rag with pliers
Need more vids. I'm still barely hanging on to my family. We'll be homeless soon, but got some great tools. 🫡
I bought the knipex forged strippers a couple of months ago, my new favorite tool. These things are awesome in every way, I love them.
