There are a few big projects going on across the country right now. We are actually releasing our platform that provides training in this industry, as well as 17 other industries on September 4th! Shoot me your email and I’ll get you a few weeks free to take a look at the telecom training. Most companies will want some level of experience (that’s what our training provides). Part of what our platform does is unlocks access to companies hiring in these industries once you’ve completed the training. We have partnered with 6 of the telecom vendors across the country.

PPE is required by all of our telecom clients so I’m stuck with the vest and hard hat!

We have an online platform that teaches a lot of what you’re asking about. It features industry specific training for 18 different industries or “trades”. We also have business development which features SOPs, contracts, pricing and building a customer base. We’re launching with a free offering of the Ericsson AT&T training. It’s a huge nationwide contract in the telecom space that’s always looking for pilots. We’re hoping this qualifies more pilots looking for a full time career!

Yeah they’re making it a lot easier now. I don’t fully trust the vertical automated flight just yet. And Dronelink has hiccups but when it works it’s great!

It has sorry for the delay. We’ve been getting our education platform ready for launch. We finally worked the bugs out and just waiting on the Apple Store to approve us so we can launch!

It was new but I am a fan. I think it’s here to stay!

I highly recommend starting out as a contractor working for others. It will teach you a lot and fast. While you’re learning and growing start your business on the side and slowly migrate. Once you’ve established enough business then go all in and make it happen!

To learn the basics, I think places like Zeitview and Droners.io (if new management can revive it) are great to learn. They don’t pay well but it’s paid experience. Once you feel more comfortable hop into telecom, utility inspections and/or mapping with vendors and learn as much as you can. Figure out your path and hit it hard!

I’m thinking about picking up a M30t for all around inspection work. Solar, telecom, power distribution.

The M30T works fairly well for solar and utility inspections, and doesn’t really work for telecom. My recommendation would be to pick up a M3E and a M3T (should be about the same cost as a M30T). The M3E is a workhorse for mapping, telecom and distribution utility inspections. The M3T serves all your solar and is way more efficient with thermal mapping.

What type of training are you looking for? Drone basics? Industry specific?

Typically they’ll ask for some type of log. AirData is an example of this and syncs directly from your DJI account.

No I have several W2 employees and about 30 contract pilots that fly for us nationwide on different projects.

Good luck on the test! For marketing we take a more holistic approach rather than flooding with ads. We built our business on networking. It’s built a very sustainable business model for us. When trying to break into new fields or markets, we’ll also create video content and feature it on our social platforms. We will cater our content to the people and companies we want to work with. I think there are plenty of free or financially affordable ways to market.

The beta test will be live in less than 7 days! And the full platform should be live January 1st 2024 at the latest!

I agree it’s a concept most people aren’t familiar with until they’ve spent time to learn an industry. I think it’s an important approach because working off of day rates will leave you needing to be in the field every day, working off of value based pricing allows time for marketing, networking and business development.

@@CrixusDomino I am not a hater....I fly toys...I don't claim to be a pilot...a part 107 has way too much mumbo jumbo about airports and details related to a true pilot. People that register their toys and get certified are the reason we are losing our freedoms...you sold out.
