Don't show the AC stuff.
Can’t you just disconnect the engine harness at the ecu and leave everything plugged up on the engine ?
as a field service engineer who loves write-ups and tech notes, thank you for this excellent video
I was looking under my Armada the other day I was wondering where the starter was. I saw this video and it didn't look long so I said whew, thank God it's not under the intake manifold like Cadillacs because that's what I was thinking when I was under the car. I'll check it out if I ever need a new starter.
These need replaces at regular interval. Second oil change, new tires and alignment(rear wont align)and a front motor mount.
Nice
glad i saw this. Mechanic wanted $300 to do this
Just the negative is ok
You don’t have to take off the front end to install motor mounts
Make your own video no life troll
What about listing the tools needed for the job
2:12 Do i still have to support the engine with a jack or blocks if i am only removing that bit, and not the other mounts? Trying to fix a blown head gasket and hoping i dont have to remove the engine entirely. Edit: Sorry if that seems like a stupid question, haven't gone to auto school yet. Plan to
You will need to support the engine if you are removing mounts, the engine does not need to be removed in order to change the cylinder heads, disconnect, exhaust manifolds, intake, and a few other things that need to taken off the cylinder head in order for it come out but the block stays with the car
Is this a 2.5 engine ?
No it’s the 2.0 turbo
Honestly the process is about the same, I always take the front clip off and take the engine with trans, much easier to separate the engine from trans and easier to mate back together afterwards.
Can I put a 2012 cc in a 08 passat
Not sure honestly
Nice work bro like your style and process of the repair 💪🏽💯
I realize it's an old topic but I have a question. Is it possible to take of only the top part of the manifold intake? I would like to install injectors for a LPG system.
What engine is this?
The v8 I think 5.7
Nice info thanks
That is the worst place to put a freaking starter. SMH Nissan!
Hi, I’ve also an issue with my rooftop, one of the hydraulic lines is leaking a small hole from where oil is coming out. ? Is it possible to replace that line only ? Or a set of lines coming from the hydraulic pump ? Thx
that setup doe... PROPS
Earned a sub. I have to do this soon to my '11 CC, and replace rings and bearings. Car sat for 3 yrs with a broken tensioner, and when I got it and fixed it, it started having severe blow-by/crankcase pressure, so it's pushed the rear seal out. Time to ring/bearing/re-seal the engine. This makes me feel much better about the task.
Do you need to relieve fuel pressure before disconnecting fuel rail?
How many hours the book calls for this job?
3.3
@@AFatherToTheFatherless thanks!!
Stupid ass design 🤦♂️
Good video. When installing i noticed there is a little opening to the front left of the engine where the manifold sits, it is right under the left side air return valve. Is this normal?
Good, straight to the point no bs video, thank you!
Hello, I already bought and installed the new bosch sensor and the problem continues to come up with the same 2AAF code, any advice?
It has to be from the dealer, it comes with an updated line, if still persists, then check actual pressures under load on the low side pressure, I believe high side pressure should be 50bar
Where are you located?
Jacksonville fl
This isn't as bad as it looks as long as you have the tools. It took me 3 hours and that was with 20 minutes digging around in my garage for the right tool for the current task, 15 minutes on my back underneath the vehicle trying to fish wrenches off the top of the transmission, and 20 minutes going to Harbor Freight for a telescoping magnet to get one of the intake bolts that fell during re-installation. Words of advice: I can verify information I saw in a different starter replacement video that the fuel hose does not need to be disconnected. There's plenty of play in the fuel line to move the intake out of the way and replace the starter. You might consider stuffing a towel or something in between the firewall and the top of the transmission to keep your tools from disappearing into the shadow realm. Also, be careful where you put your weight while you're wrestling with the starter bolts. The radiator overflow nipple is plastic and I can tell you it didn't support 245 lbs of pressure applied to it.
So I have a Clk 320 that ran fine and the key stoped working so one of my friends tried to fix it and he sprayed starter fluid in the air intake and over rid the key sequence and tried to crank it like 30 times and the intake manifold made a loud nose and something busted the intake manifold and a small amount of white smoke came out ....I got a new key and am planning on replacing the manifold .....you got any idea of what may have happened ? Noone can tell me iv took it everywhere I think the starter fluid combusted somehow .....hopefully it's just the manifold I haven't cranked it yet Gunna replace manifold then try to crank it new key works btw everything's good but the hole in the manifold
Let the engine heat, dumb s...
only nissan can be that f stupid to put starter there yes i have nissan to next it will be toyota f nissan
Your a gem, thank you
Intake is out of my 2010 CC - now the fun part, clean and replace. Thank you for filming this!
Why was there a literal pond in there anyway? It's sealed off by the T-20 bits.
I had this code myself. I bought the upgraded sensor and the adapter(at the dealership) so I could run the same fuel line which is on the car now. That didn't solve the problem. I had to change the lpfp to get this code to disappear. Later I discovered that "plausibility" also can mean the pump is taking too much current from the module, due to eldering and wear. Dutch regards, Nico.
Nice man, usually sensor works and is the cheapest of the possibilities, but does not always work that easily as in your circumstance, thank you for the fees back, it will help others.
Camera was making me sea sick, gave up after 3 minutes (:
Great video very thorough easy to see and understand step by step one of the best videos on UA-cam for this car Volkswagen CC engine removal excellent thanks for you time and effort.
Hey, we’re at the end of our job and we’re stuck on removing the axle. Any additional tips you could offer on separating axle from the trans? Using a screwdriver and pry bar don’t seem to be making a dent.
Great video brad. I’m taking out a 2015 VW beetle 1.8L (EA888 gen3) so it matched what you were doing with only minor exceptions. This was exactly what i needed! Thx for making!
Flat rating the heck outta that job 😂
I have the same issue, what did you do exactly to fix it, replace the motor or just the relays? What is the fix to keep water out?
Seal around trunk, and drill a hole just to keep it from puddling up if it happens again
@@bradsautomotivellc4850 thanks!! As I was got into it further. Discovered the relays and connectors are melted and fried from the water puddling up.
Should have pulled the engine alone...... you suck as a mechanic
Awesome video and lots of help but what about the other mount
I just finish working on a damned passat v6, fix a leak of coolant in the front and some other things, to actually end up repairing a leak in another part of the engine bay.
Shit....shit..SHIT!!
🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ definitely paying somebody
😂 ya it's a lil bit of a stupid spot indeed
Got a question what kind of car can u swap out engines in I have a 2009 Chrysler Pacifica engine. An I want to put in a car instead do u got any insite on what kind of car I can put my engine in.
Not really brother, when you change out that kinda stuff, you have to change the whole harness, suspension, mounts, keys
Wow.....its fucking never ending with this BMW....final conclusion.....to own a bmw you MUST be a EXCELENT EXPERT MECHANIC......or it will take you to the cleaner$
Haha ya they are a bit of a pain man, especially when it comes to electrical issues
Hi Brad, I have a 2008 Passat 2.0L FSI Turbo. Our lower heater hose connector busted and all the coolant drained out. We did not let it overheat.... So anyways, how do we get this connector off, it seems melted onto the heater core pipe... have tried cutting it, pulling it with pliers, using a screw driver to pop it off to no avail... Hope you see this, thanks for your vids!
Noticed this 2003 doesn't have this connector, seems your hose goes directly onto the metal heater core pipe....
You have to remove the clip and spray it with some lubricant and wiggle it off.
