I spent well OVER 12 hours changing my stock body mounts on my 2015 F250 to the S&B Silicone ones in my driveway. During my successful attempt I heated the bolt with a propane torch until it was a dark cherry red to melt the lock-tite. (...

Did you drop in after tune or tune afterwards?
@@LoganButler-ck3sb Hey Logan! I put a new tune on it afterwards. I was using regular tunes before this turbo but aftermarket turbos need special tuning for optimal performance. If you can, I would definitely see if anywhere near you offers live tuning. I’ve been trying to find a Goldilocks tune and it’s hard since each vehicle responds differently to a one size fits all tune file, so I’ve been trying out several different ones in search of the right balance for my needs. In hindsight I wish I would have spent the money on finding a local live tuning company.

@@UsernamePassword85 Sorry for the late reply! I’ve loved them so far! I’ve put about 15,000 miles on them as of today and they’ve worn great with balance/rotations every 6k miles. I haven’t had a chance to drive on icy road conditions with them yet, but they’ve handled everything I’ve thrown at them perfectly, including sharp caliche roads. Especially for the price of a set, I would highly recommend them! You’ll have to let me know if you get some. 💪🏽
They do the same as exhaust brake
@@deepaklopez7436 Thanks for stopping by! Yeah I was never really sure what to call it lol. I’ve heard debates on whether it’s considered an exhaust or engine brake, because the big rig drivers get mad when we call them engine brakes on the pickup trucks. 🤷🏽♂️😂
That's engine brake

@@investinghutler5323 Sorry for the late reply! I’ve been running all 4 at 65psi, it seems to be a nice balance between firm and soft for daily driving, and it seems to have good & even tread contact with the ground.

@@investinghutler5323 Awesome!! I think you’ll really like them. They still look great and perform great after 14,000 miles of use with getting them rotated every 6k miles. Thanks for watching! 😄
The Peak is an interesting ride. Not for the faint of heart.
Heck yeah it was lol! They also had all the stuff set up for the car races they do on it, so that was cool too. This was our first time driving it instead of riding the train to the top.
Hey man you still runnin this turbo? Wondering how reliable it’s been for you!
Hey Jacob, thanks for stopping by! I sure am still running it. My truck just rolled over 172,000 miles and I got this installed at 157,xxx miles. So far it’s been great! After I first got it installed I was having issues with building boost and smoking when even lightly accelerating. Long story short I went back and forth between contacting KC Turbos, the diesel performance shop that installed it for me and my tuning company trying to figure out what was wrong. Ultimately, after trying out some different tuning files I found one (the 30HP file) that works well all around for my needs. Compared to the stock turbo, it’s not as “snappy” off the line, but once it starts spooling and building boost this 7k pound machine rolls out haha! I haven’t towed with it yet since we sold our RV last year, but I’ll definitely make an update in the future when we buy another one and I can put my truck to work towing again.
Is it at all laggy compared to stock? Also, do you have any WOT videos I want to listen to more of it hahaha
Hey thanks for stopping by and commenting! Compared to stock it is a bit laggy in terms of daily driving purposes, buuut once it starts building boost there’s definitely a noticeable difference in power. I currently run the raised shift points transmission tune and a 30HP engine file, but you can always experiment with things like low boost fueling tunes for lower end power gain. I do not currently have any WOT vids, but I’ll definitely try to make some! 😁
Nothing says the idiot has arrived like improperly flying his countries flag. You're a living South Park episode.
A little demonstration would have been more helpful
Hey Eddy, thanks for stopping by and for the feedback! I’m sorry I didn’t capture the actual removal process of this. I didn’t think to record my attempt of removing it until after I gave it a shot and was successful. Essentially all I did was wedge the pickle fork in between the stabilizer the mounting point and it broke loose after 3-4 hammer hits.
Hows it tow?
She tows great!! We sold it last year but towing a 32’ Forest River travel trailer was cake. I couldn’t even tell it was back there until hitting some dips on the road that caused some surging back and forth lol. In the future I plan to get a 5th wheel travel trailer to put her to work again.
Really?
How do you like the whistler turbo compared to the OEM? Surely this is a VGT turbo judging by the sound of it right?
Hey Bryan, thanks for stopping by! I’m loving it compared to OEM one. I had a local diesel performance shop install it for me since I didn’t feel confident in such an involved install with my limited selection of tools at home, and for a few months after the install I had an issue where my turbo would do a vane sweep and then stop working and building any boost when I would stop at a drive thru or red light. I would have to turn my truck off and back on and it would work just fine.. until it did another vane sweep at idle. Long story short, my diesel shop referred me to contact KC Turbos, who told me to contact my tuner, and after some round and around emails between all my resources, I switched to a different tuning company and it’s been working great with no excessive smoke ever since. Yes sir, this is the Stage 1 VGT turbo. It spools up quickly and makes plenty of boost. The cool side effect of this turbo is that I turn a lot of heads when I’m cruising in a downtown area haha! I’ve got the Sinister Diesel intercooler pipes as well so there’s no risk of it blowing up the plastic OEM one. My next upgrade to complement the turbo will be the Pusher upper air intake. Sorry for the novel lol. Let me know if there’s any other questions I may be able to answer!
I tried the pickle fork method with a sledge and mine is still stuck, I replaced my drag link and tie rod ends, and my steering stabilizer two years ago, and I don't know how this job supposed to be 10 minutes turns into a 6 hour job, pickle fork didn't work, I sprayed the fuck out of the whole stud with knocker loose, and pb blaster and let it soak for 2 hours and presoaked it again, tried hammering on it no budge. I kinda gave up already.
Damn! Sorry to hear you’re having so much trouble, I hate when that happens on what’s supposed to be an easy job, especially if those components are only 2 years old. Hmm, do you have a handheld propane torch or access to an oxyacetylene torch? You may have to apply some heat to it to try breaking it free if the hammer and fork alone isn’t cutting it.
0:10 your steering wheel is shaking because you have NOT balance your tyres, does not mean you need new ones, look after the current ones. Its pointless running AT tyres on a 20" rim they are useless anything bigger than a 18" rim is pointless on and off-road.
Hello and thanks for stopping by! So, unfortunately the steering wheel shaking was after I took my truck to Discount Tire to have them rotated and balanced. I bought my Ridge Grapplers from them so I had the free lifetime rotate and balance and it helped a little but not much. I rotated them about every 6k miles and the last time I went in Discount Tire said I needed an alignment, but when I got it checked by a local shop they said it was just barely out of line. Ultimately, I got these new tires, an alignment and had them balanced all at the same time and now she rides like a dream! I do agree, I like the way 18” rims look with some beefier tires on these trucks. I stuck with 20” rims because that was the OEM Lariat rim size, so when I bought these new rims I had the Ridge Grapplers mounted on them and I’ve just always had 20” rims and tires on it.
Heres a tip, let the man run what he wants.

Yo I am so sorry, UA-cam never notified me of y’all’s comments. Like Sanito said, I’ve just got the Stage 1 so it can be dropped in and ready to work with no extra mods. You've had the tires for almost 4 months now. How are the tires working out for you at this point in time? Would you still recommend them?
Hey Roman! The Predators have still been working great to this day. The tread still looks brand new and I’ve already put a little over 5 thousand miles on them. So far I’ve driven them in heavy rain on the interstate, on dirt roads and just regular sunny weather and they’ve kept me planted with great traction. I haven’t done any serious off roading/mudding yet and because I’m in Texas I haven’t gotten any snow/ice to try them on, but so far they’ve been great to me and I would certainly recommend checking them out if you’re looking to buy some! They’ve a great mix of affordability and performance.
How hard was it to install these I need to do this so bad to my baby
Hey Jake! The best way I can describe it is it wasn’t super hard but it was a tedious project. I did them all by myself in my driveway over the span of two days because I took my time. The reason it took so long is I removed each of the bolts as slow but quickly as possible to avoid breaking the top cage nut and having to remove seats and peel carpet back to put a wrench on top.I got ALL but the front left bolt which spun the cage nut so I had to get creative like you saw in the video lol. I am also fortunate that my truck has lived in Texas its whole life so my frame isn’t rusted like some of the videos I’ve watched. Overall, you’ll need a 1/2 drive breaker bar, various length extensions, a 15mm socket, a jack(I have a 3ton low profile hydraulic from harbor freight), jack stands to prevent crushing you hand should the jack slip and a decently sturdy block of wood to put between the cab and your jack to raise the cab up. I tried to save money at first by not getting a torch, but I ended up buying a small propane torch from my local hardware store that I used to heat the bolts and help break that loktite. It was definitely worth the money! One other tip I have is make sure to have a long breaker bar or use a “cheater pipe” on your breaker bar, it’ll save your back! I would highly recommend these though! They’ve made my truck ride much better than factory in terms of going over potholes, dips and cornering at higher speeds. Definitely check them out if you plan to keep your truck for a long time! 🤘🏾

I'm considering buying a set of nitto ridge grapplers. Did the first 30k miles using the ridge grapplers drive good? Vibrate, noise etc?
Hey, thanks for stopping by! I loved the Nitto Ridge Grapplers while I had them. I bought them at Discount Tire so they did the mounting and balancing and I would get them rotated and balanced every 6k miles. I never had any issues with them vibrating and the only real issue I ever had was driving on icy roads. For some reason they just don’t grip very well on ice, so I would slide if I was stopped on a sloped road, but they’re not 3 peak snow rated so I wasn’t too mad. Noise wise, they had a low hum to them that seemed to get a little louder as they wore down but it was never anything compared to having a true mud terrain tire. It never bothered me or my wife and she would have definitely let me know if it was bothering her. 😂 They’re a very popular tire and I see them on a lot of heavy duty trucks, so I would certainly recommend them if you’re interested in a set, especially if you can get them on sale.
