Lived in both - Adelaide is better IMO. Hills are epic with acreage and cottage homes to live a country lifestyle yet still be 30 mins from the city; world class wineries in 5 regions too. If you have rellies on the East Coast you can actually travel to see them but forget about it living in Perth! You forgot to mention surfing. Perth is on the Indian ocean and surf is all year around. Adelaide is in a bay and you have to travel to surf. The problem with Perth is isolation - it does get you down if you've come from the East Coast or SA.

I would say Canberra is only ideal if you have a high paying government job. As I always insist you can have a millionaires lifestyle on a middle class income in Adelaide. The nice suburbs in Adelaide are stunning. Tree lined streets with beautiful houses on large blocks. Summer in Adelaide is all about beaches. And sultry party nights. Winter is a about sitting by the fire in the beautiful Adelaide hills. Canberra is where you want to be if you have any inkling towards skiing or snowboarding. But honestly life in Canberra would never seem permanent. And the kids will be gone as soon as they're old enough. Where as people in Adelaide know they are lucky to have whatever they want in their day to day year to year generation to generation life. I know Brisbane Sydney and Melbourne. They can have it. Adelaides weather is the best weather in the world. I have no doubt about that. Maybe five 40 degree days a year. Which really are just a novelty.

Sydney and other areas are laid back places while Melbourne is stressful

If someone says Melbourne is great place to live, well yes 12 years ago! Not anymore! It’s so chaotic place, congested, over populated, house prices is highway robbery and depressive weather! Most people are grumpy, no community vibes and definitely not a laid back place to live

If you need stressful life and depressive weather then move to Melbourne

Melbourne is overrated and it is a very stressful place to live, too crowded, roads are congested, traffic and has depressive weather! You can’t even enjoy the beach because it’s too cold most of the year. Most people are grumpy and lost. Definitely not a laid back place. Housing is way too expensive even renting. One of the world’s unliveable cities! The only good thing there is plenty of work opportunities, that’s it. Just honest opinion don’t be mad! Lived there for 12 years! ✌️

Perth has beaches. Gold Coast has beaches. Bribie & Sunshine Coast has beaches. Oh. Brisbane has humidity. WTF* else do you need to know. Brisbane is the "River City" .. rather pretentiousnessly. Brisbane has a narrow brown murky dirty river Perth has a wide blue river. Perth is NOT windy DESPITE MYTH TO CONTRARY. NO-ONE SWIMS IN THE OCEAN OFF BRISBANE. IF you want to appreciate Perth, go experience Brisbane.

Did she say Cronulla is glam compared to the Northern beaches. Northern beaches is posh wankerville and Cronulla is bogan wankerville. Its far more surfie in Cronulla then the Northern beaches ever was. She has by the sounds of it visited places once then pretends to know its history. Missed more than half of Sydney because she is posh af 😅

Lived in perth for 20 years ,live in poole ,dorset now ....WA is a great state for road tripping but just found Perth pretty mind numbing

if beaches and weather were so important southern italy would be the most expensive city in Europe instead of the cheapest. Ask yourself why does everyone want to live in London or Stockholm over Palermo and Montenegro.

i live in perth and even i can tell brisbane is better just from looking at the videos on youtube. Perth is already a ghost town it deosnt help being 4hr flight from the nearest major city.

Lived in both and providing your are a professional or have mining experience your live in Perth will be nicer and less stressful as traffic is not as bad. Also if you are an Immigrant from Europe or Africa the ethnic food availability and housing quality is much better ..

Don't forget the McMansions....

I lived in Perth for a time as a child. I have dual Canadian/Aus citizenship so thinking about moving there at some point. Aus is getting expensive, however compared to Vancouver still cheap.

Did Adelaide dirty with the weather and beach!

Both Adelaide and Melbourne have their own micro climates happening in different parts of the city. If you go into the hill suburbs in Adelaide like Stirling and Mount Barker the rainfall increases quite substantially with light flurries of snow recorded most winters around Stirling. The rainfall for Stirling is almost double that of the Adelaide CBD. If you head into the Northern suburbs of Elizabeth and Salisbury then it's the opposite. Much less rain than the CBD and a few degrees hotter. In Melbourne you will get a similar thing happening with suburbs closer to the Dandenongs being cooler and wetter whilst outer Western Suburbs of Melton and Bacchus Marsh are much drier and a few degrees warmer. As a South Aussie living near Melbourne the biggest difference is the changeability. Melbourne can have 4 seasons in the same day and it's easy to get caught in the rain. Adelaide on the other hand is very predictable. The weather rolls in slowly from the West and then disappears slowly off to the East. You can rely on Adelaide's predictability far more than Melbourne's variability. The Vics get more rain through the summer months with Adelaide being hotter and drier which facilitates Adelaide's ability to make high standard Red Wines. In short Adelaide has a Mediterranean climate whereas Melbourne is much more temperate.

Unfortunately, Melbourne has become the lefty woke joke city of Australia governed straight out of the National People's Congress party of China. Can we please excise this city and state from the rest of Australia? I've never been to Melbourne and have no desire to do so I'm more than happy living in Perth.
