      Funny you say that, because after the first session of the day I was bumped up to group B. I'm not the fastest by any means, and I never claimed to be, but I can keep on my line and not ride unpredictably like most riders in group C. Any constructive criticism is welcome, but if you don't have any specific tips or insights then please keep useless comments like this to yourself. It's really about getting out there and having fun on track. Stay safe out there!

    Very nice. I did my first track day this summer. I could not believe how bad my first few sessions were. Picking up the pace little by little. How hard do you counter steer in fast corners? Sometimes I feel like I don't push enough and I'm running out of lean angle. Jesus does it even make sense? Nice video

    • @djesjay08
      @djesjay08 2 роки тому

      Pretty much I’m never thinking about how much I’m counter steering. It’s more important to develop solid markers for braking, corner apex, and corner exit. Use your vision and look where you want to go. Lean angle and body position come with practice. Fundamentals are the most important focus when starting to ride on track. Hope that helps!

      If your primary goal is to ride on track, go with the gsxr. I have a gsxr 600 for track and it is a much better tool for the job. Now, for the street and the occasional track day, I would 100% go with the s750. It’s so much more comfortable to ride and it doesn’t mind going slow, whereas the 600 doesn’t come alive/isn’t fun till 70-80mph + which is just stupid on the street. Hope that helps!

    I commute daily happens to me at least once every couple of weeks here in Louisville , KY. You did a good job avoiding the truck but its only half his fault when traveling at such an aggressive pace. * So How's the bike's throttle at low speeds choppy smoothe I do a lot of in town driving during the week My Sv650 is arguably the best bike ever for commuting but I just love the Roar of you're GSX-s! Good oint. This road is just so sparsely populated, it caught me off guard. That’s why we have to always be ready. The throttle isn’t as bad as some others like the gsxs 1000, but it’s not as smooth as my gsxr 600. That being said it’s something you can get used to no problem.

    what was the wind like at those high speeds? sometimes on the highway the turbulence is nasty so i imagine it was tough going over 100. Did you lay on the gas tank on the straights?

      The wind is pretty powerful at track speeds. Any time I was going 100 + I was laying on the tank and holding on with my upper and lower body. However, I did get used the wind resistance by the end of the 1st day and it was a non issue the 2nd day.

      All stock except for tires. I’m running Pirelli Rosso Coras II’s. The OE Bridgestone Battlax S21’s were okay for the street, but I prefer the Pirelli’s for the front end feel and they are last longer too despite feeling like a softer tire with more grip.

      Nice! Once you ride on track, you’ll be hooked. I feel the same about the suspension on my Gsx-s750. Do I upgrade the suspension or just get a bike that has adjustable suspension? Can’t decide

      @@djesjay08 for me I think my bike has enough speed and cornering ability, I can catch any 600 on the turns but they simply out run me on the straights I think that if I upgrade my suspension to ohlins it will help the Fz has no damper or any adjustments

    • @nnlniclb
      @nnlniclb 2 роки тому

  • @Tetge
    @Tetge 3 роки тому

    About time you posted a new video. Your bike appeared fairly settled as far as the suspension goes and a smooth line helps with that. Tire pressure can make a huge difference with basically un-adjustable suspension, so that is something free that can be fiddled with at the track, but you no doubt know that. I assume that you were not running the stock tires as I did not see you sliding around when they got hot and greasy. It also was hard to hear the engine of your bike, and I would have had to fix that if it were mine (can you say hacksaw?) but, I like louder than stock exhaust on everything, and, I personally think that it is safer on the street as well. I also have never understood those that obstruct a faster vehicle, on the street, or at a track as it is called common courtesy to let faster vehicles by. But, all track days have those who will hold you up, and, if you ride a slow bike on the street, you can have difficulty passing as well when people punch it after parking in the corners. At least yourr Suzuki did not seem to mind lap after lap of hard riding. Not bad value for the money, as it is sort of an entry level street bike, although, clearly, you could have used the 1000cc version at times, as, cubes is cubes.

    • @djesjay08
      @djesjay08 3 роки тому

      I was running Pirelli Rosso Corsa II’s. A much better tire than the Battlax S21’s that came stock. I was running 32/28 psi front/rear and they felt amazing. Plenty of grip and held up to >110° track temp without getting sketchy. I have realized the limits of the S750 on track with stock suspension. It tends to wallow in long sweepers and doesn’t have enough weigh on the front to really push hard on turn-in. If I pursue track riding further, then a true supersport or superbike is I order. Or something with fully adjusted suspension, at least. All considered it was a great experience and I’m already signed up for another weekend, this time at Thunderhill, later this month.

    Got the same bike and I love it! Installed Translogic quickshifter on it and had ECU flashed, mid-range is much more powerful. 750 is such a playful bike and above 10K RPM it becomes that true Suzuki beast! Much faster than my Duke 390 was, but so much more capable and stable at high speed.

  • @Brakelateatmsn
    @Brakelateatmsn 4 роки тому

    OK, you two handle the fast, flowing sweepers just fine. Now lets see some Technical stuff, where you actually have to work the brakes and really load that thing up with some G's in the corners. How about SierraNoArrestMe Rd out near Cuyama, or come back from I-5 towards the 33 via Lockwood Valley and then blasting the top of the 33 where it leaves the straight valley up at The Place, down towards Ojai. The middle 1/3 is smooth and fast, but the top and bottom portions in either direction are much more challenging, even if the mph numbers are not as 'impressive', but the experience is much more demanding and intense. BTW, Why wave at the Harley couple, but not the KTM Duke GT at 2:42 or the Honda ST1300 at 4:15 ? - Yes, we are paying attention.

      In the interests of truth, the BS about the 1290R and the 690 has to be snipped in the bud. This is an old ploy that the great Brakelate successfully used in the past, when I still rode, to lull people to sleep. I'd refer to video evidence, but, he always disappeared away into the distance and I was instantly dropped so far behind that I got no video of his real speed. That is a really sweet sounding bike. Velvety smooth I-4 with that nice airbox moan that can be heard before a pipe is added. Plus the Transmission is soo sweet. Too bad it doesn't have an 'Auto-Blipper' Up/Down Shift Assist. But that would take away what is a good portion of the mechanical / human interaction with the machine. Plus, you are doing a good job anyway - nice, sharp, clean rev-matching downshifts, and efficient upshifting. All Suzuki's (GSX based 1000cc and smaller , specifically) are all so sweet and revvy in that regard. With the Busa bringing more torque and a more robust feeling transmission. Speaking of which, away from those farm homes, that would be a GREAT Busa road! - and despite what you hear, they really can handle quite well.
