New Battlefronts
Guillermo Bonfil Batalla was a Mexican writer who was also an experienced ethnologist and anthropologist. Documenting Mesoamerica's rich history, he wrote the book Mexico Profundo, a staunch argument for the revival of indigenous identity. Curating the best of Mexican culture, Bonfil contends that his country has been dominated by the "imaginary Mexico," a fictitious imposition of the West. This imposition denies the cultural reality, and therefore the sovereignty, of the actual Mexicans - the common citizenry.

"All the peoples of Spain, how ever diverse, must be harmonized in a irrevocable unity of destiny" and its this quote that makes me think it's unjust to group Falangism with other forms of Fascism such as National Socialism or National Bolshevism. Unlike those mentioned Falangism doesn't call the extermination of other groups rather the "Spanishization" of them which makes sense given there isn't a single "Spanish" culture as it itself is a marriage of Castilian, Basque, Aragonese, Leonese, and Catalan cultures, even the Moores of the Spanish of Africa were paraded and praised as heroes of Spain despite their color cause they submitted to Spanish culture and adopted the values of and fought for the prosperity of la patria. This is in contrast to National Socialists who, even to those who may have initially supported them, would butcher them reguardless of submission to German culture cause of them not being German by blood.

His argument seems demonstrably false. China, North Korea and Japan are highly homogenous societies while the US is ethnically diverse, yet the US is the greatest country on earth, supassing China despite having a lower population, while Japan is a middling power, and both are walking toward demographic collapse much faster than the west. North korea, of course, is in a even worse position. Cultural and material factors seem to tell for a lot, and breeding for little or nothing. In the end, only the Kingdom of Jesus Christ will resolve human problems permanently, and the Christian faith will prove far more enduring than any human government, for if God is with us, who can oppose us?

As the son of a Yaqui indian the term “Latino “ is super racist. Just because people were conquered by the same culture doesn’t make them the same. The hundreds of pre Spanish tribes deserve to be recognized in Mexico not to mention the thousands of tribes in North and South America. To force them into a term such as “Latino” is as racist as saying a black man from Detroit is the same as a white man from Australia simply because they speak the same language. Stop letting white people put you in boxes.

The mexican experience of the 20 century is courious, for being honest, I think that since the fall of the spanish empire all of the small countries that have share a common history with spain since 16 century start a new reality, the fall of the spanish ampire was very similar toward the fall of the roman empire, it left a wh9le vontinent with a similar culture but with a new and separate histories. In the case of mexico of the 20 century, they got on an authoritarian olygarchy since the end of the revolution with the creation of the nationalistic revolutionary feeling that led to the creation of the PNR then PRI. On Perú, Victor Raul Haya de la Torre tried to create a similar organization called APRA, but the differences with mexico makes it just movement but not a revolution, one of those difference probably could be the racial question, I'm not sure but I notice that mexico has a history of problems with the indigenous people while Peru always identified itself as "andean" and you can notice it woth the leader of the fascist movement of Peru who was Sanchez Cerro a man with clear dark tone of skin, the rascism was something more common of the higher class of the capital and the intellectual field but never a bigger issue among the people. A similar place like Peru is Bolivia, a andean nation where the nationalit revolution happened on 1952 with the creation of the MNR of Victor Paz Estensoro.

This channel is excellent. I am also from Peru. Very good content and quite illustrative. Peru has always had a fairly anti-Western tendency. Whenever the people of the country tries to imitate the United States or England, it comes out in a rather quirky and “kitsch” and, what the West exports and reaches Peru, ends up “Peruvianizing” and not the other way around. Although the differences between European-Peruvians and Andean Peruvians cannot be ignored, Peruvians of European descent are usually from a high or medium-high socioeconomic stratum (There are also Peruvians of European origin who do not live in the capital, for example in the regions of Cajamarca, Piura or Junín and their lifestyle is very similar to that of the peasants and Andean people). Because these people (Peruvians of European descent who live in metropolitan Lima) have money, they more easily grasp the capitalist Anglo-Protestant influence, literally the secular Judeo-Christian basis of modern capitalism, because these people can afford to travel the world and also be educated in the best universities, and that influence which they then bring to the country later ends up colliding with the andean-catholic social communitarian way of life of the Andean and Amazonian peoples. And it can't leave it aside the cultural and market globalism, which is evidently the fastest way to alienate with culture and values foreign to other cultures and entire nations. In fact, these differences were what led Vladimir Cerrón, the leader of the political party “Perú Libre” (a communist political party of Peru), to say on Twitter that the southern part of Peru is “communist” and the northern part of the country is “capitalist” (Lima, the capital of Peru is in the center-north of the country). The strong conservatism of Peruvians, of Catholic origin, is what has also prevented Peru from being contaminated by the bad liberal influence of the United States and England. It would be good you make a video on the evolution of Peruvian nationalism or the investigation of undervalued peruvian figures such as José de la Riva-Agüero y Osma, Alberto Wagner de Reyna or Carlos Miró-Quesada Laos.

I'm from Peru, specifically from Cusco, and I consider that the Inca heritage has a strong totalitarian seed in the present days. Today, the Peruvian political subject is in a struggle between a debate between the campaign for the pride of the nation or for the fight for life, property, and liberty. Two opposed positions that would define the future of the andes.

Looking at the country's political scene, I'd have to agree. Rural farmers that are proud of an indigenous past clashing with urban elites that look to the West for direction. The Andes nations need to decide on an identity.

I have to disagree on the idea of thinking that the Andes aren't part of the West. As an andean, I should say that the society of Peru has been a christian farming socialty that preserves its language and pre-westwern tradition in the same way that, for example, the Basque preserves both tradition, the Euskera not chirtian and its roman catholic beliefs.
