Jacking Up The Garage
While I don’t show us actually jacking up the garage, this is the before and after of our day. Plus, I took a picture of the repaired header (it cracked, causing the bow in the wall).
Next steps are concrete, jack up the roof (there’s a huge sag), build garage doors, repairing the gutters, find replacement siding, then paint.
We need this completed so we can move the rest of our stuff from my in-laws’ place. I can’t wait!

Ma's Tortilla Soup

This was a basic meal we ate growing up and I still love it today! It's so easy, highly adaptable, and can serve as many people as you want. Ma's Tortilla Soup Corn tortillas (cut and fried or baked into chips) Condensed soup (here I use vegetable beef) Shredded cheese (almost any kind will do. I used Mexican blend buy my mom used Monterey Jack) Make your chips. If you do not want to make them,...

Aicook Juicer Wide Mouth Juice Extractor

This juicer does what I need it to do and is small (doesn't take up as much room as my Kitchenaid). This is a quick video on how this inexpensive juicer arrives, how to set it up, and how to break it down to clean it. The instructions that come in the box are not very helpful at all. For those who don't know, this is keto/low carb french toast! Today, I made french toast dippers in my corn stick cast iron pans (and they turned out better than I have ever made them). This is one of the easiest recipes! It's full fat cream cheese, eggs, and melted butter in a ratio is 2:2:1. That means it can easily be adjusted up or down! Sourdough Starter

This is, by far, the easiest step in making sourdough bread: making the starter. All you need is flour (pretty much any kind), water, and time. This sojourn into sourdough began when I read this article (which ...

    how long can you store dried sprouted grains?

    • @BrendaNolen
      @BrendaNolen Рік тому

      In a dry, dark, cool environment, it could be years. The factors that shorten the lifespan: light, moisture, and heat. In my too warm house, I was able to store them for a year before I noticed a change in flavor and color. Once I have room for storage here, I should be able to store for even longer (I finally have a closet not attached to an exterior wall).

    Do you think I can grow sprouts in a jar with a lid you have? I had terrible experiences with sprouting due to those things: the worst smells, the worst mold - in my year of traditional Cooking practices It may have been entirely due to tap water Do you recommend a product that holds up? Perhaps non plastic or something that is BPA free or BPA-alternative-worse-than-BPA free?

    • @BrendaNolen
      @BrendaNolen 3 роки тому

      Something like window screen would work beautifully. You could also use fabric, like tulle or lace. Something that drains well but is fine enough to hold the grains in place (not cheap cheesecloth) would work beautifully. As long as the sprouts don’t grow through the fabric and tear it up, you could wash it and reuse it several times.

    • @BrendaNolen

      Also, I tried a sprout tray (cheap plastic round type) years ago and I have no idea what was growing in there! It was slimy and smelled like slinky beer mixed with stagnant pond water. That’s why I was so thrilled when this worked!

      @@BrendaNolen my sense of smell might be way off, some batches (2 of 3 trays) of wheat sprouts in my KitchenCrop Sprouter and I definitey got that beery smell but I cannot help but think that it is “fresh and nutty”. I think sprouts should not smell? And usually I google first before shooting a random question but I wonder if a little essential oil (the ones that have antimicrobial properties) will help halt the 1 of 2 batches sprouts I have going from going bad and the other ones flourish more. Will reuse this comment later when I am making my own perfect sprouting kit. Unfortunately I have no dress to work with on that lucci or whatever (I will edit this later but I jist had a lot of inspiration from ur comment <3 )

      @@BrendaNolen I am also careful if there are chemicals in window screens? Idk, I went to school with a few dozen future chemists and can only imagine that inserting chemicals into everything you see at Home Depot (which is where I got my window screen, I have extra) is where we can get those upper class guys some work... never really gelled with them

      @@queensofthedthrone8267 that smell is normal. It’s not quite bread or beer but could eventually be? It’s the sour or musty (like mold) smells you need to watch for.

    Why didnt it smoke the first time around?

    • @BrendaNolen
      @BrendaNolen 7 років тому

      Jason Ramkishun That first can, my husband had unhooked the vacuum hose. That prevented the cleaner from being sucked into the engine. When we used the second can, the vacuum hose was attached, so it soaked the engine properly.

    • @Jc-ln5rc

      Brenda Nolen thanks. Was the can sprayed continuously or in bursts? I'm scared of messing something up

    • @BrendaNolen
      @BrendaNolen 7 років тому

      Jason Ramkishun Continuously. Spray the entire can in there, then make sure to let it sit where it will stay warm for the 2 hours (or however long I say in the video) That’s why we got 2 cans, just in case. I don’t think it, alone, will mess up the engine (but I am not a mechanic, so no suing me lol). After this, we used a can on our 1997 Suburban and it cleaned up a lot of the knocking.
