Great unboxing, my friend. Hope you're happy with the films I've gotten you. Strange that Nicolas Cage didn't make westerns before. He certainly has the talent for these movies. I'll probably end up purchasing the Criterion edition of Winchester '73 myself one day. Wasn't very fond of The Sisters Brothers, but maybe you'll like it. It's definitely not your typical western. The transfer of A Bullet for Sandoval looks absolutely beautiful. Let me know what you think of Old Henry. And of The Police Connection. Enjoy the wild west, Carlos! Take care!

Cool trade items with Donny Carlos, very nice stuff indeed. Nicolas Cage doing Westerns really took me by surprise when I heard about The Old Way as I wasn't sure he had the right look to be a cowboy, but from the looks of that cover he did indeed pull it off. He also would fit the crazy philosophical vagrant who roams about town. Butcher's Crossing is giving off character study vibes for me but still looks like it could be a good entertaining time. I still need to see Old Henry myself, looks like a whole lot of fun. Tim Blake Nelson is a really good character actor who doesn't get talked about much I think. The release here in the States looked kind of bland so I'm eying up one of the German editions. Also still need to see Winchester '73, which I've heard great things about, and started James Stewart on his Western journey. Lonely are the Brave always felt more like a contemporary set film with a lead character who modeled himself after the old school style cowboys to me. The rebel bucking the nonsensical rules of the new era is always fun to watch. The Big Country is the Western on a very epic scale with a giant cast in Gregory Peck, Charleton Heston, Carroll Baker, Jean Simmons, Burl Ives, Charles Bickford, and Chuck Conners. A well made and played out film about a range war between two factions. Stagecoach is a classic, 'nuff said. A Bullet for Sandoval was a Euro/Spaghetti Western I could never fully get into no matter how many times I watched it. The plot and characters are well done, and George Hilton and Ernest Borgnine played off each other great, but for whatever reason it just never clicked with me. The Sisters Brothers is one of the most unique titles I've ever heard given to a Western, but there is something there that makes me want to give it a look. One of these days for sure. Hi Carlos, cool parcel there mate, I’ve yet to see The Old Way but I have watched Butcher’s Crossing which was a very good watch 👌 nice slipcover on both 👀 I’m unfamiliar with Old Henry, maybe Germany have a release of that (I know e don’t) it’s a shame Kino Lorber region lock their films 😡 love that cover image on Winchester 73 👍 Burl Ives was a very good actor, I have a few of his movies. Great cast in The Big Country. I’ve not seen Stagecoach in many years either 🤔 I’ve not heard of A Bullet For Sandoval but anything with Ernest Borgnine in it has to be worth a watch 🫡 nice freebie included, plenty to keep you entertained mate, take care👍😃👍

Hello Carlos what a fantastic package from Donnie 👍 I really enjoyed Old Henry. I think my copy is a German release. Lonely are the Brave is fantastic. You'll enjoy that. It's an unusual western. In the first scene a jet aeroplane flies overhead which surprised my from the start 😆 Them wagon scenes in Stagecoach are just iconic and have inspired film makers over the decades. 😊 I didn't know them Cage westerns existed. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts 👍 keep talking movies

Great score - I’ve waited until the price went down on all 3 Shawscope sets. Vol 2 has some great ones like 36th Chambers and Mercenaries From Hong Kong. The Boxer’s Omen is like taking hallucinogenic substances but a good one for Halloween.

Stellar update as always Carlos, some very nice goodies there. Didn't know you were a fan of rap music, that's really cool; I enjoy classic rap like Snoop Dogg myself. I mainly learned about the N.W.A.'s history in some short documentaries from the early 2000's, but I have heard quite a few good things about Straight Outta Compton over the last few years, even with the embellishments made. Their former manager complained about the scene where Eazy-E told him he wanted to kill Suge Knight and then it came out he regretted talking Eazy out of doing it. Never heard of Rise of the Footsoldier films before, sounds like a really interesting British crime series. You can never go wrong with some Bronson in the collection, and there's no such thing as having too much of the true "Great Stone-Face". Indicator/Powerhouse is really doing some fantastic stuff with films from around the world. The Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor set looks really good. Buddy Goes West does get love on the Spaghetti Western Database, so I might have to see if I can check it out one of these days. JFK is Oliver Stone's best film, one of the most honest and objective looks at the aftermath of the Kennedy Assassination and Oswald's death. The Great Escape is one of my dad's favorite films, an entertaining and decent depiction of the amazing true life POW escape. The nonfiction book is a little more harrowing and bleaker, but still a must read along with the film. Tarantino is a great modern auteur, 'nuff said. I too was surprised Arrow did Demolition Man on 4K and Blu Ray, but it was a welcome one. Sly's 90's movies are hit or miss with me, but I had a load of fun with Demolition Man, the banter and chemistry between him and Wesley Snipes is like watching a good prizefight. Sly and Sandra Bullock had good chemistry going on too. Take care my friend, hope you're well, and speak to you soon.

Hi Carlos, The Nice guy's is a great film and great chemistry between the two leads. not seen St Ives or Telefon in years, remember really enjoying Telefon so will put both on my list. I am thinking about picking up Demolition man but like you its not one of my favourites, i will wait for Arrow to release the normal 4K.

I watched the Confessions films a an impressionable teen too mate 🤣 I’ve seen a few Bud Spenser films over the years but not Buddy Goes West 🤔 The Great Escape is such a top movie and top cast, I’ve heard there are some sound issues with the release though 😬 cheers mate, take care👍😃👍

Nice unboxing Carlos. Ive never seen "the great escape" i only have tge dvd so im thinking shall i watch the dvd to see if i like it then upgrade to this . OR get this to watch for the first tine to have a uograded watch for the first time watch. Not sure. But i do like charles Bronson, but im very new to sreve mcwueentonly seen 2 of his films.

the US Kino 4K only had SDR whereas the Arrow has Dolby Vision and overall appears better in the image quality.

Hi Carlos 👋 a great selection of films there. The Nice Guys is really fun. Great action comedy that gets quite close to the knuckle. I should try and grab that Confessions set. I have the Adventures set that indicator released a couple of years ago so would go well with that. Robin Askwith is indeed still going strong and looking quite youthful. 👍

Some great titles there Carlos, I'm a big fan of Charles Bronson but I don't remember St Ives, I will have to check that one out. Like you, I love the Blob, it's one of my comfort movies. JFK is a brilliant movie with an amazing cast, I need to revisit this one, it's been a few years. Have a great Christmas Carlos, catch you in the new year.
