Hi, sorry, I realize I did not explain the combinators in the video, which I do regret. Anyway, you can get the blueprint into your game rather easily. Just use one of the links in the description, then click "Copy to Clipboard". The blueprint string will be in your clipboard. Then you go into Factorio and click the import blueprints button, then paste the string there. (CTRL + V). Hope this helps.

have you ever had a train get destroyed by biters on the way to or from a mining outpost? same thing :) trains have some collision physics

@@JoshStPierre Well, not really since my train tracks were never long enough or used enough to intercept biter swarms. I do know that trains can stop eachother when they both go slowly enough though.

@@izusumi In the 3 years and 1,600 comments of this video, this is the best idea I’ve seen! I’m sure this would work and potentially even remove the need to have a repair system. A refuel system would still be needed, (check description), but it would be a little simpler without the repairing. Right now I’m obsessed with KSP instead of Factorio, but if you or anyone else tries out this idea I’d love to see it.

@@JoshStPierre It works not as well as expected (biters can get stuck running back and forth for a minute or so. They still die), but it makes the train completely safe from attacks. Usually biters aggro on pollution or artillery which is far away, so after a few get killed by a train they can target a train instead. When there are gun turrets nearby, they try to attack the gun turrets, completely ignoring the train. I found that 15 blocks away from straight rails is the perfect distance, avoiding behemoth splitters but still letting the turrets shoot if you want them to. But the train is still limited because it loses speed when it hits biters, but every locomotive adds to the acceleration so longer the train - bigger attacks it can shred. Also, I'm not sure about corners, but you can avoid corners being attacked completely if you simply place them in the water
