The Bernina Stitch Regulator
I have developed a way of stopping and starting stitches when I am doing Free Motion Quilting. I use "Mode 1". I use the foot pedal and I take my time and practice, practice and practice.
Remember to be kind to yourself and enjoy the process.
I recommend this tweezers to have on hand:

Dritz Dress Form: How to fit the breasts
Переглядів 628Рік тому
The dress form comes with a small bust. Everything else is adjustable. You a few extra notions, (some of them hacked) you can use this dress form for any size bust. My last dress form fell apart while I was making one of my daughter's wedding dress. I was in a hurry to get a new one. This came and it is the same one I bought 20 years ago but better. It is always great when that happens. I also ...
Glorious Buttonholes and Buttons with my Bernina
Переглядів 236Рік тому
I love blouses. It has always been an issue to make those buttonholes just right. When I sewed with my mother we would slowly get through it, blouse by blouse. Now I have my B770, I put the button up on the screen and the rest flows. I actually get excited about finishing off the blouse or shirt, after all I do love buttons. Don't we all?
A Fabulous Finish on my Bernina 770QE
Переглядів 368Рік тому
Modern Patterns call for a serger. I have developed a way of cleanly finishing off the edges with my domestic machine. My machine is a Bernina 770qe. But she will sew anything. I used for an example "One Seam Pants" by Cutting Line Designs. I am sharing a link. All of the patterns are designed by Louise Cutting. All of the skirts and pants have the best waistlines in my opinion. www.cuttingline...

One of the ways I am taking charge is highlighted in this video....
The Sew Expo is Back

The last Sew Expo in my area was in 2020. Right after we went into lockdown. This is 2023 and the fair was back. There were a lot less vendors and classes. Also less shoppers were at the event. The atmosphere was great. I am glad I went. Thank you to the people who set up this year's Sew Expo. You knew it would be smaller and you did not say "it is just not worth it". This Quilter Wants to Sew Clothes

I love to sew and I usually sew quilts of all types. But once in a while I will make for my family and myself clothes and home decor. Since getting my Bernina 770QE changing over to a new task or project has become very easy. I press the little mannequin icon which is the creative consultant and it flows. No more tirelessly playing around with the foot pressure, thread tension or stitch length,...
Quilt Binding Completely by Machine

The bias strip is sewn on the top of the quilt, but instead of sewing on the back by hand there is another option that is to sew the bias strips down on the top of the quilt. It is like sewing in the ditch, but the binding is being sewn down simultaneously. I also show how to make mitered corners without the bulk. It also means there is no finishing off the continuous bias strips in order to fi...

I especially enjoy this method, though it does take longer. I have figured out a ...
Creating the Bias Strips for Binding a Quilt

I have begun to create a small stash of pre-made bias strips of 2.5 inches wide. Embellishing with the 97D foot on my Bernina Sewing Machine

It's the little things that you miss, that really make a difference in your sewing experience. I am not new to sewing, but am new to Bernina. I learned so much from your video. Thank you so much for posting these helpful tips. It's so great to know about the differences in the first three piecing stitches, abd how to access that info with the "i" button. I had a lot of good reasons to switch to Bernina. I am finding more reasons every day. 🥰

I recently got the 770QE Plus. I am trying to get the perfect 1/4” seam allowance. I noticed you took that guide and placed it right on top of the feed dogs. Does this harm the machine in any way? TIA

    • @ShemeshRuth
      @ShemeshRuth 10 місяців тому

I hope to do a video just on that subject. In the meantime I will explain. If you turn over the seam gauge you will see a cut out line. When you turn it over and put it on the machine notice it goes directly over the feed dogs. In other words Bernina created a space directly over the feed dogs and they will move without touching the gauge. I hope this helps.

Hi, thank you for giving such a detailed explanation of the versa table. You covered all possible situations. Buying an extension table is an investment. My last sewing machine, a Baby Lock Decorators Choice only lasted 5 years and they said it's cheaper To Get a new one Than to fix the one I had. I ended up buying the same kind of machine because it was so easy to use but I have had it for less than a year and have had problems with it. My question is, is the versa sew steady table a more universal fit or is it specific for your sewing machine?
