Do you cross connect from the RH side lower OEM tank sump to the auxiliary tank or just the LH side?

With the washer you installed between the two clamps as a compression limiter. After installation is complete. Is there supposed to be play between the clamp and the neck of the frame?? I’ve watched this video repeatedly after completing my install and just wondering if that’s correct? Thanks for the great kit too 2024 KTM 690 🤙

Great video on how to install the kit. It took me more than an afternoon to install but maybe I'm too careful to to make any mistakes. The only extra work I had to do was to grind a bit in the corners for the hole for the ABS-switch. For my KTM 690 enduro 2024 there is a USB-connector, this was not in the video but I figured out that anyways. The top carbon cover of the the tower has thinner wall thicknesss than the mask therefore the USB-connector is a bit loose in it's hole. I had som problem fitting all the cables, that took some time to figure out. Great product!

Using the Tread Overland is pure joy… but the syncing feature is ridden with flaws…. My first unit stopped syncing GPX tracks/Files etc so Garmin offered to replace it under warranty… unfortunately Garmin in the UAE won’t touch the unit because the Inreach feature is banned. For various reasons this forced me to purchase a second unit…. WHICH ALSO NOW HAS THE SAME FAULT! Ontop of purchasing two units I’m also forced to purchase two sets of Garmin maps for Middle Earth and North Africa… $300 and no updates! Buyer beware…. Garmin is aware of these faults but haven’t been successful in correcting them. Another negative is the ability to only download 1000 Birdseye grids either to the drive or to SD card. They should monetize Birdseye to keep World Travelers happy… erasing maps and uploading new ones for a new country takes days & days!

I purchased and installed mine before there was this video, and, the hanger hardware was not correct (had to figure that out and buy some correct size bolts; but not a real problem once I understood this). I sooooo wish he had made the video earlier. The exhaust works great and that sound …. 😊 When I purchased mine there was no warning about it not being compatible with AXP Skidplate, so I have been using it with my AXP for years now. (I do use some exhaust pipe wrapping tape plus heat shield stick-on aluminized pad to prevent issues with heat wherever the pipe is close to AXP skidplate plastic.) This is a super nice option compared to more costly ones from competitors. Rade, you really should have explained very clearly the different hangers; the square aluminum tubing versus the two rubber spacers. In the video you use both and that is frustratingly confusing. PS: because I had to use the square aluminum tubing spacer, the stresses created eventually caused my frame mounting point (the part that the spacer goes on) to crack off. I had to remove that part of the rear frame and have it welded (and strengthened).

So you just updated the exhaust and tail fairing bracket. Is that the only reason why you made a new video?

I,ve had my raid tank & air filter for 18 months & i still haven,t fitted it as I don,t trust the little plastic air box ,at least I,ve got the steel cage ,now your gone to a plastic cage.WTF , the quairty has really gone down hill

Great video. Please let me add one note of caution: the brake lever pushes a tiny plastic cylinder against a micro switch. If you lose this it’s not available separately as I discovered having not realised I’d lost it. It’s 5mm x 5mm in case you need to make a replacement (which I did). I used the end of a plastic numberplate bolt which is pretty much spot on. My brake light didn’t work but in fact it was on permanently. My local KTM shop found this out and took one off and existing bike to show me!

Why, would you want short clutch and brake levers on a 690/701? For less leverage and a harder pull? The reason to shorten them is when trailriding with alu handguards that dont permit normal levers. But looks matter, convince people short levers look cool and they will buy them.

Does the bike run as well as stock with this airbox/gas tank fitted? Does it need re-tuning? Or is that not discussed?

It's not in the video, but remember to unscrew the opposite screw to the one hidden behind the radiator before popping up the OEM air box (3:37). If you have a SAS/Canister Removal Kit by Rottweiler, you won't need the T connector -> only one pink cable is required. And to the RadeGarage team - great product and excellent DIY video! I wish you give NM values for screws - I have a tendency to overtighten everything ;) For example, I had to check in the repair manual that the fuel pump screws are 4 NM.

Just bought a 23’ 690 enduro r with the Rade fuel tank already installed. Yesterday, after about 50 miles into desert ride, the fuel from main tank started pushing into aux tank and ultimately dumping out the vent into my lap. I had to shut down and open main tank so they could equalize and turn aux tank off to continue. Performed this 3 times before turning aux to off to finish ride. When I got back to shop, opened aux tank and turned bike back on, sure enough it started gushing fuel into aux tank. First time this happened and 3rd time I’ve made this same 120 mile round trip. It was hotter this day, around 90f, but it was in 80s other days. Any ideas, seems like I need a check valve or there are issues with the fuel getting hot and main tank not venting adequately?

U need to change and flush your brake fluid, look how dark brown it is 😮
