This rocks! I think this is the best Parker adaptation. Duvall's Parker or Macklin or whatever is as logical and calm and amoral as I picture Parker from the books.

I remember watching this on NBC Saturday Night at the Movies. It's possibly the only English-language movie with Alain Delon that I like.

The scene with the toy biplane was truly horrific. Peter Bowles was superb as Balor and I think he must have enjoyed playing a fiendish villain.

Fielding was master of so many scores in this genre, his output was *so influential* on action movies of the 70s just look at contemporary films and score: The Outfit, The Friends of Eddie Coyle, The Killer Elite and many more .... you sense the the move McQueen made in looking for something different. Quincy Jones IMO did find something different beyond the gritty drama. If you'd like to know who exploited Jerry Fielding's talent more to the full I would argue Clint Eastwood: The Outlaw Josey Wales and The Gauntlet had even more depth and were the very highest works of the genre

Schifrin's scores were great. Eastwood Had it when he chose him. Right on the pulse of the shot being filmed, every time. A class act for backdrop.

Not a bad montage treatment. At least the music chosen is in taste, compared to the rubbish noise lots of people pick for similar uploads. Nicely assembled.

I remember this one vividly as a kid in the late 70s staying up late to sneak downstairs to watch it on low volume when we got HBO. My dad eventually figured out what I was up to but let it ride for a month or so until having a talk with me about dentists and their customers, and the other way around.

This was underrated. So was The New Centurions, Report To The Commissioner, and several like it. Just watched it last night, and its on Tubi too. Have to get this for my DVD collection

I was just watching this same episode 2 nights ago. And then I got a link from J. Trunk in my email that I finally opened this afternoon. Weird, tripping timing! Space: 1999 was my absolute favorite show as a 70s child. Even now, I own several box sets of Gerry & Sylvia Anderson produced shows. I love everything they ever put out. Amazing concepts, decades ahead of their time.
