Fire damage to Warbreck House, Blackpool, 08/06/24
Переглядів 1,2 тис.7 місяців тому
The former DWP office at Warbreck Hill Blackpool suffered a large fire during the night on 08/06/24, with extensive damage visible in this video Rather poignant for me as I was one of the first civil servants into the building - I installed all the data network hardware before people moved in.
Blackpool DWP Office Fire Aftermath 27/03/24
Переглядів 7639 місяців тому
A quick drones-eye-view of the fire damage on the roof of the new DWP offices being built in Blackpool. At the time of writing it is believed that a bitumin boiler being used by roofers working on the building overheated and caught fire, emitting a huge plume of black smoke. The damage to the roof looks fairly minimal, though the proximity of a number of gas bottles could have led to a much mor...

Not something you expect to see parked next to a remote road in the Forest of Bowland ! Bell 204 'Huey', being used to spray something on the hillside near Cam Brow Edit: It's been suggested that it may be carrying gravel/rocks to repair footpaths

Lost and Confused ?

The red car came to a complete halt while indicating right in the right lane of the A66 near Rokeby Park. Began moving again just as I was passing them, and eventually turned right at Greta Bridge about a km later. Lost ? Did they think there was a junction there ?

a LOT Rats will be seeking a new home.
I worked here for a years. The whole situation sounds fishy. Kicking out dwp before the lease expires without warning. Now its up in flames. I wonder what the landlord's intentions are now... Land for housing?
Allegedly it was already given permission.
Been on fire yet again
Hi Robbie, good to chat with you yesterday :)
Arson in Blackpool, what a surprise
Amazing flight. I just subscribe to your channel.
Yet another amazing flight. Looks great 👍👍
Thanks 👍
Very cool..... Looks like Seagulls flying are wanting to crap on it, but with white covering over the top is throwing them off as other Gulls completely covered it. 😂😂
Thank goodness for that, I was worried that it was going to be allowed to fall down like the Ambassador. Thanks for the update.
Interesting!
Nice capture! Liked and subscribed
Quick question. Was this hotel formerly called The Ruskin Arms Hotel before New Hacketts? The reason I’m asking is because the building looks exactly the same and as I went back to view my Stag weekend footage back in 2016 and it was on the exact location on the exact corner on the same street?

Interesting. Normally with land like that, they will set fire to it so burns low. The Heli maybe being used to drop water on certain areas to control fire. THATS JUST A GUESS THOUGH.
After the amount of rain we've had recently I very much doubt that the ground needed any more water - the problem would be to get a fire going in the first place. My guess is some kind of fertiliser to encourage growth to prevent erosion
@@Goldie644 Yes, now you say that I can agree as maybe weeding and feeding the land.
@@waddac2 Another suggestion I've had is carrying gravel/stones to repair footpaths
@@Goldie644 Cannot see it being gravel/stone as would be too expensive for helicopter and heli would not be able to carry huge amounts to distribute. If was the case, wish the heli would fly and drop off on normal roads and not middle of nowhere. 😂😂
Wow!!!!! that looks AMAZING buddy. Im Rich from GADC so see you on forum. Ive subscribed and looking forward to watching more. 👍👍👌👌👍👍
Hi Rich 😀

It was a bit of a wet month on the whole.
Какой-то он картонный, там были деревянные перекрытия? Старинный? Какого года постройки?
Ohh love this !
It's amazing how powerful that crane is
Cliffs next door will be soon going down same route, the shock on our last visit not to mention the smell, such a shame these old lady’s are at the hands of quick buck merchants, the lack of any real maintenance is criminal to my mind.
I love watching this, so exciting.
Would it not have been easier to sort and stack as it went. You could have saved thousands of bricks instead of being crushed. Its all money back into the kitty and was wasted. I don't understand.
Would have been better if you could have zoomed in while up there, instead i`ve had to squint watching it all.
Did they take down the entire structure or did they stop at the fire wall.
They took it all down up to the wall of the next hotel along
It's a shame so many old style British buildings like this are going and being replaced with soulless student flats, retirement homes and retail blocks. Places like this had a lot of character right down to the quirky bay windows and grand staircases. Things felt unique and not cloned over and over. I'd take an avacado bathroom suite and and old pattered carpet over the ultra modern stuff anyday.
Yes - so many grand old buildings falling into disrepair and being demolished :(
is it done yet?
What drone are you use as very clear footage? 🙌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
It's a GoPro 9 camera mounted on an iFlight Chimera 7
Insurance job
I'm surprised a tram didn't hit him.
It's just like Blackpool, it seems to be happening a lot. Some lovely old buildings are getting demolished.
was there any dinghy divers living there........
It's amazing how many fylde coast hotels seem to get accidently burnt down.
And Piers.
And theatres - St Anne's pier pavilion, Ashton Gardens Pavilion
@@markhjones956 Fleetwood Pier years ago.
And south coast ones. The Royal Albion Hotel Brighton caughtt fire last week and is causing chaos with the demolition
Building looks in good shape unlike hacketts hotel
I hope they repair it too
That''ll cost a bob or two to repair.
Yup - I hope they do repair it !
These places are our history could they not keep the front bays and beautiful red brick and modernise at the back I know that the drainage and electric wires ect need replacing but to spoil our the historical heritage is beyond me Surely because of housing shortage this seems over kill
The whole building was structurally unsafe after the fire - demolition was the only option
I am an historian and preservationist. It sounds like you and I hold the same love and sentiments regarding vintage buildings. However, in many instances like this, the heat of the fire actually weakens or compromises the structure of the individual bricks or stones themselves. In these cases, even the masonry 'shell' walls (even though the blaze didn't bring them down) can't be saved to become historic facades with new construction behind. It's common for people to find this perplexing because, in the mind, masonry construction is connected with the idea of being 'fire proof.'
@@mugwump242 Thanks for your answer but if it takes a bulldozer to take it down it still could be made safe or is it I’m a bit thick here.?
@@milels6917 I have the impression that, in this case, no investigation was even done regarding whether the historic, brick 'shell' of the building could be preserved. Maybe it was salvageable (excluding the rear wall) and could've been made safe and sound by infilling the shell with new construction. Or maybe not. Sadly, we'll never know because it was a rush to 'rid the city' of a structure that local government was biased against as it saw only a long string of code violations.
Shame it wasn't that bloody Savoy evil place, spent a lot of money there, and the staff treated u like a piece of shit, never again will I visit Blackpool, hope all the hotels are demolished, damn them to hell!
It kinda looked like the truck sped up.
Yes - accelerating away from the roundabout like everyone does
I bet there are a few old ghosts looking for new digs .
Ooof, I've been head on with a pigeon, but never a seagull. Glad to see it is still flying
Great drone footage
Better pulled down ma pal went to it on way back home on motorbike says grub was rotten place was a mess
The line will be reopening in 2025 with a new station going in Fleetwood. Thornton Cleveleys & Burn Naze stations have been very well maintained over the past few years.
That work is as delicate as a mother sirting the laundry. Efficient, decisive and brutal.
Sad to see ☹️But very good crane operator 👍👍
Ouch. Is that near Potter's Brook?
Near the Hand & Dagger, between Treales and Salwick
Ah right...I know it well. Similar cuttings in many respects.
@@wyrearchaeology1 The boat belongs to a friend, now moored up at Garstang
Nice to get an ariel view.
I see them hand picking and loading into a bucket ? Is that Asbestos they are cleaning up from the rubble ?
I think they were mainly sorting out reclaimable bricks from the rest of the debris
