Good luck. There are really fish throughout the system, so go to your favorite area, then search for the fish, they are moving around a lot

There are Salmon that go through the delta on their way up the Sac, American, Feather, Moke, and SJ rivers. We were fishing in 2-5' of water, so while it is possible it is unlikely. But there are areas, such as near Rio Vista and higher up the Sac and Old Sac where you can target Salmon. Thanks for watching and good luck.

I love the Greenies too, but when the Stripers are around we have a hard time staying away from them, lol. Surprisingly, I have caught many nice stripers while fishing for Greenies. Good luck out there

In the California Delta, it is fairly common to see Striped Bass with broken lines. Sometimes they are perfect, sometimes they are almost perfect, and sometimes they are so broken they look like spots. I don't know why that happens, but I am sure there is some explanation. Thanks so much for the view and comment. I hope one day to be able to fish for Stripers on the East Coast, definitely a bucket-list thing.

I run my Active Target on 12v. I agree spot lock can make Active Target difficult to use and the video clips come out a little jerky as a result. Let me know if it works out for your mat fishing, that would be interesting

I used 4' of straight 15lb leader and will be switching to 20lb maxima as the fish get larger in the next few weeks. No fancy tapered leaders required. Since we are using sinking heads you need a short leader. This fishing is super simple compared to fishing a Spring Creek with dry flies.

Active Target is forward facing sonor, and I have it setup in Scout Mode, so it is looking forward in a broad arc/angle. I am sure those fish would get picked with side imaging when they are on the side and under the trolling motor. But now that we have gotten used to forward facing sonor, we never use side imaging.
