The fact that this cover is basically a Christian woman experiencing the most intense gay panic in the history of ever gives this song another interesting layer to it. Not only is she using religion as a means to deny the fact that she’s able to have these basic sexual urges, but is also using it to condemn and suppress a potential part of herself that she fears that her peers and God would not approve of. This sort of thing shows how arrogance mixed with deep insecurity, along with repressing parts of who you are can be dangerous, not to just for others, but for yourself.
