God never said the individual doesn't matter. Your validation comes from God, not man. If you can submit to the authorities in this world, one should be able to submit to the authority of the leader of a family. And the Lord chose the man to be that leader. And he answers to God whether he does it well or not.

@@DearDiaries You are enough even if you do not receive the validation of your god. There is nothing about men that makes them specifically be worthy of a position of authority over women. And the reverse is true. The only reason I submit to the authorities of the world when it is unjust is the threat of physical violence. If you saw a man being subservient to his wife, and it looked on the outside like it was harmonious and peaceful, would you have turned around and started preaching that men should be subservient to women?

You are right, in this instance God is saying that his promise to you is your anchor. His promise = His Word. It is an anchor to hold you in faith when other words and thoughts come to move you. So in the moments words are floating around to get you off the path God has set His promise is the anchor.

Your husband will get things wrong. It's important that your focus is doing things God's way right? So your best strategy is always to go to the Lord about those things you don't agree with and trust God to speak to your husband about them. You will find God will correct your husband if he needs to be corrected. You always want to be in right standing with God and keep the enemy out of your marriage.
