thanks for this video. it helped me a lot. I didn’t have those special tools, so for removing the arms form motor, I just use a claw hammer. I used the claw part to force the arms off one by one. that went very easy. the square thing on right side, that you removed with the special tool, I just left it. Therefore I could not remove the plastic cover, but I could move it out of the way and get under it with an imbus tool to loosen the two bolts keeping the fixed arm. It was a bit of a hassle, but succeeded. working with hammers/ force around the edge of the windshield, you should be very careful, because can easily break the windshield if you hit the edge. I opened up the motor and found the tooth of the plastic gear wheel to be worn. If you are able to get the wheel, you can save yourself a lot of money. the original motors dont come cheap in my country (around 700USD), while the gear wheel is not even 20USD.

I have a 2016 F22 220d BMW, i was wondering about the egr adaption ?? Did u progress further with this ? Im under the impression it retracts the valve slightly which allows u to remove/ clean the egr unit and replace it. But how do u use the option on the scan tool to do this ? Before, during or after the clean ??

Number one task when purchasing a used vehicle is to establish a baseline. Before anything else, change ALL the fluids. Front to back. Blinker fluid, front diff oil, Tcase oil, transmission oil, rear diff, engine oil, engine coolant, steering oil, brake fluid purge. Then lube the muffler bearings and go for a drive. Start rest of the fixits after that drive.

Higher octane burns faster, that’s why high performance engines use it and can’t use lower grade fuel or else the engine will lag. Also man you get to the point and show us the actual car and what you did to fix it, if you’re going to vlog thats cool but title it is a vlog, I thought this was a to the point mechanic fix video and I’m trying to fix my car already lmao

It looks like the arm attached to the motor shaft is notched, is it possible for the arms to be installed in an improper position? I just bought a used BMW in a private sale, and noticed after that the passenger side wiper goes down too far and hits the sill plate or trim piece, whatever we want to call it, at the bottom of the windshield. It then makes a clunking noise as it comes down onto the windshield. On the driver side, there is maybe a 4-5" strip of uncleared rain/cleaner which I find a bit distracting when using the wipers or cleaning the windshield. It would seem they are both installed a few notches too far in the counter-clockwise position when looking at the front of the car. Easy to adjust? Or is this a different issue with the motor?

This Video is exactly what NOT to do. Please do not duplicate the strut tear down as that is exactly how people get hurt. He's lucky he didn't loose digits on his hand. This dude has no Idea what he's doing ie You never install a spring compressor to install the strut assemble back in the car. If You need to disassemble Your strut assembly take it to a shop with a proper spring compressor.

So, after a super low battery situation with my F30 335i I have a loss of power steering and loss of stability control (and the corresponding lights). The loss of power steering I can DEFINITELY feel lol. I wouldn't be able to turn my wheels like you unless the car was lifted. Do you know if this could be the fix in my case? After replacing the battery I did drive it around WITHOUT doing the left-right-left maneuver thing, but it didn't go away. I have a lift on order so hopefully I can try that soon. Did your driving around fix it after the video? Would love an update.
